I've taken on a new job... as manager of Reunion, an international team that only play friendlies. This will be alongside Lincoln City and just for "***** and giggles".

No chance of getting them to the World Cup then?

Latest update on Cray? Haven't been in this forum for months let alone play my save. Seems my thread's been deleted too. Or at least so old it's no longer visible.

2025/6 - Lincoln City (League Two)
It's still in red and white stripes...

I sign a £625 per week contract for 3 years.

Sincil Bank, Lincoln holds 10,120 (all seated) with adequate training, youth and corporate facilities.
There is a five year kit sponsorship deal worth £124,000 per season which ends in 2027 and a bank loan of £275,000
    Fierce rivals: Grimsby Town
Rivals: Scunthorpe United, Boston United, Notts County, Hull City

    Board: Respectable position
    Media: 10th
    Bookies: Unknown
    Season tickets: 2415 (down 57)

A superb first match sees us win 4-1 at Gillingham. Things settle down after that giddy opening and we sit in a reasonable mid table position.
Things steadily improved all season. Our pick up in form sees us up to 6th at halfway and some strong form in the second half of the season sees us promoted with four matches still to play. A considerable achievement given an initial small squad and limited resources.

    LEAGUE TWO

FA CUP SECOND ROUND REPLAY: York City 2 Lincoln City 1
LEAGUE CUP FIRST ROUND: Wigan Athletic 3 Lincoln City 2

Top Rating: Chris Stevenson 7.39 in 45 games
Top Goalscorer: Craig Collins 29 in 51 games (28 in 46 league)
    Player of the Year

    Young Player of the Year

Regarding the team requests... I should be back playing again tomorrow. Got an interview at a bigger store tomorrow so I've had to prepare for that for most of the last two nights.

Well, last time they played on New Year's Day was in the 2024/5 season. They lost 3-1 at Leatherhead.

It wasn't really new years' day, those scores are real but it was during those seasons, we ut can't remember the dates. That game against Stamford featured the late Keith Alexander.

Battlefield 2 got in my way...I'm an expert sniper shot. Fantastic when you blow someones head off from 1/4 of a mile away, just when they are lining up to fire an RPG at a comrade

2026/7 - Lincoln City (League One)
    It's captained by Smith...

    Board: Avoid relegation
    Media: 22nd
    Bookies: 33-1
    Season tickets: 2692 (up 277)

A superb start leaves all Imps dreaming. Seven unbeaten and only one defeat in the first ten puts us in third place. Surely not..?
Then we start to throw leads away, and not just single goal leads. At halfway, we're 10th but still not looking too bad, not far behind the leading teams.
Into the New Year, we start struggling with injuries to key players.
Our form then sinks like the Titanic and we start looking over our shoulder, albeit without worrying too much. We have rescue ships.
At least the end of the season was entertaining... a 5-5 draw with Chesterfield finished things off.

    I hear that brother!

I've stayed well clear of the TV these last few days. It's over now, right?

Thank **** I don't live in Norway right now. It would have been impossible to get away from the thing, no matter what. Hopefully that sly **** of a man that won it last time around will be off the tube for a while...

2027/8 - Lincoln City (League One)
    It's like watching grass grow...

    Board: Stay clear of relegation
    Media: 20th
    Bookies: 40-1
    Season tickets: 2708 (up 16)
New kit sponsors: £81,110 per season for 6 years (down from £124,000 per season)

In pre season I sign a two year contract extension to 2030 on £850 per week (up £225)

We make a reasonable start, not the spectacular affair of last season, but solid enough.
However, we are plagued by inconsistancy and come New Year we lie 17th.
The whole season is mediocre and lacking in excitement and frizzles out. I would say it was an anti climax, but there was nothing to be climaxed.

Some pleasing results and my first international defeat. Despite applying for many jobs, I've been turned down by everybody who plays competitive internationals, including some under 21 sides.

Interesting to see Wigan are in heaps of trouble in your save too. They're on the verge of relegating themselves out of the football league in mine, after financial issues.

2028/9 - Lincoln City (League One)
It's where I put on my best James May impression...

    Board: Safe mid table
    Media: 17th
    Bookies: 40-1
    Season tickets: 2772 (up 64)

A fantastic opening day sees us rip apart Wycombe and our fans are delighted at the 5-1 win. This form continues and we top the table after ten games, surprising the entire league including myself.
Moving through the Autumn and this has the making of a dream season. As halfway hits, Lincoln are still top of the table.
Then 2029 hits and it's like somebody has flicked a switch. We completely lose the ability to score goals and start to slip down.
We pick back up in February to head back up only to drop off again in March. A playoff position is secured in the penultimate game with a 2-0 victory at Colchester. We've have gladly taken that in pre season.

The playoffs again see us play Colchester. Two nervy looking teams play out two draws in front of capacity crowds, which brings along a penalty shootout...
    "Oh ****".

    LEAGUE ONE

FA CUP THIRD ROUND: Liverpool 3 Lincoln City 0
LEAGUE CUP FIRST ROUND: Lincoln City 1 Preston North End 2e

You could try resizing the pictures using http://drpic.com. That could work.

Sucks as much as the Eidos Suck Arse Trophy, which I now have to play in again next season.

Disappointing end to the season, but you have progressed really well with Lincoln so far so hopefully the Championship isn't too far away.

Keep up the good work Nobby, been a good career so far. You got so close to the Premier League with Sunderland.. but you've done well with Lincoln City so maybe they are going to be your team of choice..

Thank you Dees... though I think my FM team of choice will always be Billericay Town after having four long running saves with them over four different versions of the game.

2029/30 - Lincoln City (League One)
    It's ruddy frustrating!

    Board: Respectable position
    Media: 7th
    Bookies: 33-1
    Season tickets: 2910 (up 138)

A 2 year contract extension (giving me 3 to run) comes my way on £950 per week (up £100). I sign.

An inconsistant start is not helped by a few niggling injuries, including to Bradley and Stevenson. We struggle for goals.
We rediscover form, only to lose Tuohy for 3 months and Stevenson again.
We then have another recovery period before the season looks like it's going to peter out...
...a strong run in sees us needing to better Oldham's result on the final day to make the playoffs.
    Lincoln 3 Swindon 2
    Bournemouth 1 Oldham 3

    Damn game!

2030/1 - Lincoln City (League One)
    It's the one man team

    Board: Playoffs
    Media: 8th
    Bookies: 25-1
    Season tickets: 2910 (no change)

We put in some strong performances in the League Cup at the start of the season, including a 4-1 thumping at Championship side Swansea. However, the league sees a disappointing start.
Things then pick up and we go on a long, unbeaten run.
This tails off with a cup run and an injury to Martin Bradley for 2 months.
When Bradley comes back, we pick back up again...
only for failure for both us and Doncaster to win our final league game sees Coventry sneak the second promotion spot, someway behind Colchester.

    LEAGUE ONE

In the playoffs we steamroller over my former team Northampton, beating them 3-0 in both legs before getting demolished in the first half of the final, eventually losing 5-2 to Doncaster. A disappointing way to finish.

FA CUP FIFTH ROUND: Middlesbrough 2 Lincoln City 1
LEAGUE CUP THIRD ROUND: Lincoln City 0 West Bromwich Albion 1

    Top Rating: Martin Bradley 7.40
Top Goalscorer: Chris Stevenson 25 (Carlos Aparicio 20 in league)
