Unlucky AdamFitz im sure you will be able to bounce back straight away, you were so close to staying up. Good Luck for next season![]()
survived my first season in the prem on the last day by winning.
i'm into the new season and finding it really tough to sign the players to take me foward, i either can't afford the 20 million needed for them or they won't sign for me, even top qaulity youngsters won't sign.
I have signed a 32 yo italian keeper who is the backup for the national squad. Its the first time i've ever signed a player and had a news item about increased shirt sales.
Shame goalie was already my strongest position with a 24 yo and a 19 yo who are good prem standard but they are 3 stars and my new goalie is 4.5 stars![]()
Have hit the playoffs of the BSP finally.
Got sacked from Truro in the second season, fully deserved it and surprised I lasted as long as I did. Started again and they've popped again, tempting!

ha ha. just took a look at my finances. They invested £487k and that has given me a new balance of £112k in the black. So in answer to my own question looking at finances...quite rich. Whether or not they continue to invest is a different matter.

Getting a bit sick of games like my last one where I totally dominate, their keeper pulls of great saves and their goal comes from a header that hits the post rolls along the line hits my keepers head and goes in.
Tooting & Mitcham United FC - Barclays Premier League - 2032/33
It was our centenary year and I was planning something special, but my financial gamble last season really didn't pay off and we found ourselves rebuilding once again.
League Table
League Positions Graph
We challenged at the top but were never really going to catch Liverpool. Man City missing out on the Champions League could be the most significant event this season.
FA Cup - it was an easy run to Wembley, although Newcastle nearly ended the dream. The final was superb, as we showed Man City who the major force in this country were.
Carling Cup - another great cup run, where we avoided a lot of the big teams. We needed penalties to win the final in a match we deserved to win.
UEFA Champions League - we struggled in the group stage and nearly got knocked out, but then started our charge towards the final. Arsenal had other ideas though as a very lucky result in the quarter final first leg knocked us out.
Transfers - there wasn't really a lot of action as I swapped a couple of full backs and signed a wonderkid winger who was amazingly offered to me for his value price.
Squad - it has taken a while to recover from the big player sale but I think the squad is getting back to its best.
Finances - the finances seem to be the major talking point at this club, this year we made a small loss, which could be the best thing ever to happen to the club.
Key Player Profiles:
Emilio Sacchi - he's finally starting to look like the striker I was hoping he was.
Adam Bowditch - I brought back the youngster from two seasons ago and he had a great year.
Chris Blackmore - not quite as impressive as last year but still pretty special.
John Punal - he's still only 16 but he's starting to show he's a natural goalscorer.
Steve Shutt - the star of my youth team, he's been solid as ever.

This year was supposed to be something special, but despite the silverware it really wasn't. I'm going to need to win the Premier League and Champions league once again before I start thinking about future challenges.
I have the Confederations Cup coming up with Spain next, although I fear this may be my last tournament with them as things haven't been going too well.
For the third time in four years i have been drawn against chelsea in the FA Cup, and all 3 times have been in the 4th round
EDIT: also just done the double against premier league champions and 1st place arsenal, we are still lying in 16th though

How I managed to win this game is just beyond me. Playing top of the table Eastbourne, penultimate game and in the playoffs by just one point, I lost my entire back four in the first half.
Think that's the last time I'll be using a 3-4-1-1 formation this season hehe.
Hastings United - 2010/2011 - Blue Square South
Given the media prediction of 22nd, and the fact that the team was full of slow, useless one star players, I really had a fair bit of work to do pre-season to get some semblance of a team together that would be competitive. Unfortunately, the depth was never really there, and that would be an issue.
---
Season Summary
We were rather unlucky with injuries this season so I ended up changing from a 4-4-2 to a rather nasty 4-3-2-1 to a narrow diamond back to a 4-4-2 by season's end, but it managed to keep up mid-table for 2/3 of the season and get through the injury storm. That provided a good base for us to push on the playoff places, and a very good final third of the season (12 games, 28 points) meant that we finished in the playoffs fairly comfortably.
Final Table
League Positions - Graph
Playoffs
We went into the playoffs with only one first choice defender after the injury debacle at home versus Eastbourne, so the playoffs would really require us to try to keep the ball in midfield as much as possble; not an easy prospect
How the first leg against Newport ended in a 0-0 draw is anyone's guess. We were lucky to hold on to a draw and given our home form I was fairly confident of a progression to the final in the next leg.
Unfortunately, international callups took our star defender Adam Hunter and our main goalscorer McAusland out of the second leg, which meant that my backline would consist entirely of reserves after its decimation in the Eastbourne match a couple of weeks earlier.
The scorline flattered us in the second leg, it was a tight game but we didn't deserve four goals; a couple of screamers from our midfielder McDonnell and our backup one-star striker Traynor were the difference here.
Unfortunately we lost our only remaining first choice defender Adam Hunter to injury in the U19 qualifiers, so the playoff final would be another interesting prospect.
As for the final, we won promotion, but it was scrappy and thoroughly undeserved. However, given our perfomance in the second half of the season I think we were certainly the quality side in the playoffs.
FA Cup - 1st Round
We did well in this, beating BSP side Gatehead and BSS champs Eastbourne, before getting Peterborough at home in the 1st round and getting absolutely marmalised.
FA Trophy - 2nd Round
We beat Gateshead again (away this time) and the 3-1 loss to BSP Dover certainly flattered the opposition.
----
Transfers - Lots of action in and out as we tried to get some talent in and reduce the wage bill (half star players getting 400 quid a week is a bit of a joke).
Squad - Certainly some good talent in the centre of midfield but a bit weak up front and in goal. No natural left wing either which proved troublesome.
Finances - Could be worse I guess. Hopefully we get some more in next year when we start playing BSP football.
----
Key Players
Adam Hunter - Just a colossus at the back.
Kyle McAusland - Our main goalscorer. When we missed him it was very noticable.
James Keatings - McAusland's chum up front; scored a few, created many.
Stephen McDonnell - Our main central midfielder; along with Keatings a crucial creator of goals.
Career OverviewNext SeasonCode:Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2010/11 Blue Square South 3rd Promotion (Playoffs)
Hopefully we'll attract a considerably higher quality of player during the summer; given our good cup performances against BSP sides I don't see any reason why we can't compete in the mid table next season.

Well done on the promotion aero. you can pick up a few talented players for the BSp as well.
This game really frustrates the hell out of me sometimes. Better players, worse results in 2nd season in BSP. Anyone got any tips for this league? Tactics?
Really it's not too different to the BSN/S I'm finding. Just keep it very rigid/little creative freedom, basic 4-4-2, attacking (push up/quick tempo) and a bit narrower away from home.
All the players are as thick as two short planks and don't have the technical ability to play well structured football, so I also make sure that my players have at least a half-decent determination (10+) and ditto for pace.
You have to take assman reports with a pinch of salt, classic example in my game was a one-star striker getting eight goals in 18 games as a backup, mostly as a sub (18 determination, 13 pace, 11 finishing), while my 4 star striker got about 3 goals in 23 games as a starter.

Board member took over from my chairman, took out a 400k Bank Loan until 2038, not a lot but I didn't want this sort of thing.
Started life in League 2 with a win over Exeter, followed it up with a win over Coventry in the League Cup, then a draw against Southend and defeats against Cambridge and Aldershot. Foster out for a month with a hamstring strain. Life in league football is going to be tough.

Gutted, thought we'd have automatic promotion in our hands but we didn't win in 3 games near the end of the season and we payed for it. In the play-offs, I stupidly took advice from my ex-Assistant Manager to play a 4-1-3-2, which was a huge mistake as Havant & Waterlooville went on to beat me 2-0 at home, I will ALWAYS regret this decision. I didn't fair to well in the cups, went out in the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup and the 4th Round of the FA Trophy.
Squad
No-one is rated amazingly by my new assistant manager, Darren Powell (I know he's not very good, but I sacked my previous one because I blame him for missing out on promotion and he's the only person who requested what I can actually pay him), but the stand-out is definitely Leon Knight. If he wasn't injured for 3 months I'm sure he would've surpassed the 30 goal mark. It's not a bad squad altogether but I need a couple of signings for sure if I want automatic promotion next year, and believe me I want it.
Finances
Have picked up due to my new chairman taking over and taking out a bank loan, it's only small but I don't want things like it regardless. A pity I'm still in the Blue Square South as I seemed to get a lot more injections from the chairman while in the Blue Square Premier.
Transfers
Brought in a good few players on loan over the course of the season, apart from that Leon Knight was definitely the best buy. Made a sweet profit too.

Leon Knight - Topscorer, was a joy to watch, wish he wasn't injured for those 3 months, we really missed him.
Jack Adams - Only just reached double figures but provided most of Knights goals.
Graeme MacGregor - Got him on loan from Crystal Palace and was probably my best performer, solid in midfield and got his fair share of goals and assists.
Matthew Pearson - On loan from Fulham, was solid at the back, wish I could keep him.
Joe Devera - Captain Fantastic, consistent player who played most of my games.
Adam Davies - Solid player, played a whopping 53 games and conceded 35, best I can get currently.

AdamFitz.. something's wrong with the link to Jack Adams.
I would have said Nuneaton for sacking me, but we did the double over them last season, so we're even now. I did quickly grow to dislike Histon last season though, played them twice and couldn't get near them. Didn't like playing against Forest Green either.
By the way, just noticed that Mansfield have lost in the BSP play-offs in each of the six seasons I've played so far![]()
Jamie Spencer - Season 6 (14/15) League One - 2nd Place
Was a really tight season this time, was always about 5 teams in it who could win automatic promotion and it took us a while to get going. We were helped by some great loan players and the fact that we were allowed to go a decent amount over our wage budget.

2017-2018 Season Review-Kings Lynn-CCL2
The main target this season was survival and although we spent most of the season in the relegation zone I was always confident we could stay up. The faith in my team was good as we managed to pull away from relegation towards the end of the season and finished 8 points clear of the relegation zone. Our first entry into the league cup saw us draw Wigan away. We lost 3-1 but we played really well and I was happy with the performance. I made a small profit from transfers and found two good players on loan who kept me up in the form of Sam Hill a striker from Norwich and John Powell from Gillingham.
I keep getting messages saying a takeover is close and then one saying takeover is on the rocks so I don't know if I'm going to be taken over or not to be honest.

We made a very good start to our premier league campaign with 2 wins and 2 draws in the 1st 4 games, which included 1-0 wins over chelsea and arsenal, and a draw to runaway champions Man City. We then dropped like a stone down the table as tthe effects of staying in the league cup to the quarter finals took its toll especially with the extra time. We completed a double over Arsenaland also managed to snatch a 2nd draw against Man City. We managed to stabalize ourselves just above the relegation zone and then pushed on to secure 13th place
Had we had a bit of luck during the 1st half of the season we could have been in the top half but our strikers just couldn't finish, i don't think they are good enough for this level so it looks like i might have to get rid of Miguel Angel.
Our defence were solid throughout the season which i am very surprised and impressed with as normally i can never get a good defence.
Player/s of the Season
Nick Tokaya - got the highest average rating (conceding just 46 in 45) and is looking good for this level. had to reject a few offers for him in January though, not sure how long i can keep him for
Andrej Stolarik - Sutton's Captain, he showed the rest of the players how it was done.
Acoran Romero has now passed Ezio Massaro's 191 league appearances, he is now on 206 league appearances for the club and has been with us for 7 seasons
Cups
Finally we had some decent cup runs firstly in the league cup where we cruised through the 2nd and 3rd rounds against lower league opposition. The 4th round needed extra time to beat burnley 3-1. Our run came to an end when Bristol City showed their class and beat us 2-0
We generally had a kind draw in the FA Cup we somehow managed to beat premiership sunderland at their place 2-0 before being drawn against Chelsea. Two incredible performances against them, the 1st we managed to draw 0-0 and get the replay, the 2nd we took our chances and beat them 2-0. We got 2 easier draws for the 5th and 6th rounds. We comfortably dispatched Championship Wolves and Leeds both 3-0. We eventually lost 1-0 to Birmingham which was the 1st goal we had conceded in the FA Cup that season which shows how good the defence was.

Robert Hunter - Truro City FC 2012-2013 BSP
A tough year for our first one in the BSP but the good news was we managed to stay up.
Finished 18th in the end. At least we survived.
Here were the important players.
GK Tom Brooks Solid as usual.
RB Phil Ifil St. Lucia international full back.
LB No one even deserves a mention here
CB Kieran Nicholson. Youth product still important to the team.
CB Matt Logan. Got halfway through the season. Did well.
MR Alex. Pretty poor.
ML Max Harrop. Most valuable individual on my team. Not really sure why.
MC Inigo Idiakez Retiring. Did alright in his one year with the team.
MC Oliver Hewitt-Fisher. I really like his ability to play a cracking through ball.
FC Darryll Knights
FC Adrian Patulea. Good pick up. Also received fans POY
Subs:
Stewart Yetton. Goal scoring machine in BSS. Obviously not in BSP.
Andy Taylor. Solid year. Probably better than Idiakez.
Figured since i've played a few seasons I could throw up my Best Eleven of all time and Best Eleven of the season.
Dons, Ifil is awesome at Blue Square Level. It's just a shame he can't get a start for me with another guy Scott Metcalfe having taken his position.
This is unbelievable. I'm so sick of scoring first and then allowing a goal in the last fifteen minutes to draw. No matter what changes I make to tactics it happens. 6 Draws in first 11 games and 5 of them have occurred like this. Unreal.
NJ staying up Dons. Shame to hear about the draws in the start of the new season though, always frustrating.

Top Scorer and Player of the Year
Key Players
Matty Wolfenden Sharif's strike partner for most of the year scoring around 15 goals this season.
Michael Coulson Another striker brought in on a fre who turned out to be a fairly good goal machine.
Gavin Carlin Would have conceded more if not for Carlin in the goal.
George Moncur Impressive midfielder bought in 2016 from Peterborough after having him on loan a couple of seasons earlier.
Shaun Batt A menace to all left backs and left midfielders also chipping in a few goals
Finances
On a personal note I won manager of the Year
Also the team had 5 players in the Team of the Year

Nice one Almondo! Must felt very fine sitting the last 15 matches in first place![]()
cheers foost. It did feel good and then slamming 17 in over the last 3 games.
Erm how's this for Boston United's first league game.
Nice start to league life, AlmondoAnd congratulations on the promotion. Bury currently plying their trade in the Blue Square North in my game.
Cheers Terk. TBH the hardest thing was keeping in 1st over the last 15 games of the BSP especially with FA Trophy matches moving games.
Yeah, I've not dealt well with fixture congestion so far.
Doing decently in League 2 so far, 10th place after 12 games. Got a couple of players on loan from Liverpool who are making a big difference.
Maidstone United managed by mag man 2010 - 2014 in the BSS
I found it hard to get into this game for the first few seasons and hence some small updates, I am now however properly into it and so detailed updates can be expected for future seasons.
My first season was poor, I didnt enjoy it, had no funds and couldnt get any players I wanted in. It was a scrappy affair and I just managed to scrape enough points to avoid relegation finishing 19th.
2010/11 League Table - 19th
Second season was much the same, I rushed through it as quickly as possible and was on for a mid-table finish until I had an injury crisis and avoided relegation by a point.
2011/12 League Table - 19th
Third Season I had finally managed to get some players together and was becoming happier with the tactical aspects of the game. I went on to finish in 15th comfortably.
2012/13 League Table - 15th
Fourth season I had almost settled down on a tactic and should have probably made the playoffs, a late dip in form meant I dropped down to 10th.
2013/14 League Table - 10th
From now on there will be proper updates like I used to do in FM09.
A first for me in this career as I win manager of the month award.
Guiseley somehow just can't play in Europe. My god, 2 times ending 3rd in the Europa League and this year we had Champions League... Of course in the hardest poule possible with the teams: Villareal, AC Milan and G. Bordeaux. Right it is over already (12december)...
1. AC Milan 10p
2. G. Bordeaux 9p
3. Villareal 7p
4. Guiseley 6p
results:
Guiseley 2-2 G. Bordeaux
AC Milan 2-1 Guiseley
Guiseley 1-0 Villareal
Villareal 1-1 Guiseley
G. Bordeaux 1-1 Guiseley
Guiseley 2-3 AC Milan
sigh, got one draw to much.. ahwell biggest plus is I can go give 100% with our team for the premier league![]()
Season 3 - Bedford Town - BSP - 2012/2013
Media Prediction - 24th
Actual Position - 17th (Table) - (Positions Graph) - (Results 1) - (Results 2)
Review of Season: Im happy to have stayed up. Never really looked in danger of relegation. Consistently Inconsistent best describes the season. Pleased with the takeover and that I kept my job. Overall a good season to build on.
Fa Cup:Once again rubbish
Fa Trophy: What else is new...
Transfers: Not that many transfers this year, but just enough guality to see us safe.
Finances: With the Consortium take over in October and their investment things look a bit brighter.
Squad: Pleased with how they managed to perform on the bigger stage. Managed to gain a respectable amount of points, but changes will have to be made for the club to step up to the next level.
Drew Rattlesnake_85 Key Player of the Year Award:
Winner - After finishing runner-up the previous two seasons, finally Michael Corcoran has been given the recognition his performances has deserved.
Runner-up - the second half of a strong central defence pairing.
Aims for Next Season: Clearly the squad needs improving in all areas. Bring in better quality players and hope for the best. Top 10 would be nice, anything more would be great.

Well done on survival Rattlesnake.
I've made a big blunder with Truro in the Championship, signed 19 new players on MASSIVE wages and we still dont look good enough to stay up. Squad harmony is awful at the moment and we're leaking money fast. Think I might just get rid of a lot of players in January and try to get some players in on much cheaper wages.
Congratz everyone on their respective seasons

thanks very muchand best of luck for the season ahead
Ended up finishing 12th, roughly 20 points away from relegation and the playoffs, pretty dull season. Got rid of all high earners and am going to rebuild next season with a more sensible financial policy. Will do a proper report later when I can be arsed to do screenshots and all that.
Hey, sorry, this mat sound like a stupid question, but i am about to start this challenge and was wandering if there was a better way to search for players then player search...
Its just everyone on here seems to find amazing players early on and i was just wandering how they did it...
Any tips/hints and advice much appreciated!
Just signed a regen from Dinamo. Dinamo favorite Robert Prosinecki is bewildered that they let him go so cheap. Funny thing to say from someone who is also our coach![]()
Jamie Spencer - Season 7 (16/17) The Championship - 12th Place
Can barely even be bothered to write a report on this nothing season, holidayed most of it because it wasn't going anywhere. Signed too many players, most of them on ridiculous wages for what they gave me. Had a few players on around £13k per week and they were old players that just didn't perform. Got rid of all of the high earners in Jan when it was clear we would survive.
League Table: http://img709.imageshack.us/i/leaguetable1617.jpg/
Transfers: http://img63.imageshack.us/i/transferspart1.jpg/ and http://img63.imageshack.us/i/transferspart2.jpg/ Wayne Brown and Sulimani were the best of the lot. Both have already been sold to fund our efforts for the following season.
Star Players: http://img709.imageshack.us/i/careca.jpg/ Careca was a loan player and our top scorer
http://img714.imageshack.us/i/waynebrown.jpg/ Wayne Brown was POTY for us but I needed the money to fund a rebuild again.
Have succesfuly got rid of all of the highest earners at the club, am going for a different policy next year and instead of signing so many domestic players on such high wages i've trusted my scouts efforts over in eastern europe. May be time to spend some money because iirc our only transfer fee spent previously was in season one, Gary Holt for £500
With a new look side I hope to maybe be able to push for the playoffs.

I'm currently 6th in League 1 with Boreham Wood, going ok. I just wanted to post this - is this the easiest group for England to get for 2016 EC qualifying or what?

Thought you might appreciate this one Terk. First round proper of FA Cup.![]()
And got drawn against non league Bishops Stortford in the 2nd round! A run to the third round would be exactly what our finances need.
what is the name of the skin you're using Terk?
Flex Vitreous got it from sortitoutsi.net
