Also this must be the worst thing ever to say about a player for another club, but for your sake you really need him to score 27 more goals for them. Wouldn't it be great if after his 30th goal they go into administration and you managed to get Javier back a whole lot cheaper.
I'm £10m in the red now

It isn't as bad as it sounds, my finances always jump back up at the end of the season when the prize money comes in. I've been around £30m in debt before

Because the Javier money was spread out, I've made a loss on transfers this season, although it should be better in the long run. I still could do with him scoring another 27 though ;)

How far in the red do you have to be to go into administration then? 30 million seem alot. Ive gone 1 millions pounds under on my save in Gundo's and I was worried.

An annoying 0-0 draw against FGR has taken the playoff chances out of my own hands. 2 games to go, teams very bunched up. Two wins SHOULD be enough, but might not be. Anything less and it's probably BSS next year again. Not convinced that wouldnt be a good thing - I dont think we're ready for the BSP yet. Another year in the BSS with a similar team should be good preparation.

I think it depends on the value of your club. I could have cleared that debt easily by selling a couple of players so it wasn't a problem.

£7million in the red is nothing. I think I was £40million+ in the red last season.

It's fine aslong as you do well.

    Nooooo!! /o\

Turned down a £40m bid from Man City 36 months ago (!!!!) and he's been unhappy and refused to sign a new contract ever since, even for £165k per week and £8.25m signing on fee.

That's the thanks I get for turning him into the best right-back in the world and helping him win back to back League and Champions League titles. Absolute <insert unmentionable word>.

Probably going to lose my back-up right back too as he's handed in a transfer request and has less than 6 months on his contract as well. So it looks like the summer of right back shopping! On the other hand, I have secured world-class AMC, AML, and MC for next season all on frees

    Kingstonian (2028/2029)

    Premier League Prediction - 5
    Premier League Position - 4

    Table
    Graph

    Summary
After last years huge dissapointment losing the League title in the very last minute of the season i had a hard time to carry on.
Fortunaly it snowed the last couple of days and therefore no classes to attend, then of course i had to play FM

    League
Played well in the league but again, we where unlucky numerous times and lost points. Liverpool took 1st place at the start of the season and never looked back.
They havent been beaten in 17 league games now.
So yet another season without the trophy ;(

    Champions League
Handed a very tough group with Barca, Roma and Zenit but managed to win the group. Won against Galatasaray 6-3 in first knockoutround.
After that our teem seemed unstoppable and beat Valencia 3-0 away in our Quarter finals.
In the Semis Liverpool where up. Ouch i thought that this would be the end. But a 0-0 draw away we had hope winning at home. And we did.
A brilliant lob goal by Escobar saw us going to the finals.
Escobar had been injured for 6 months but you couldnt tell in the finals where he got another goal and saved us a penalty shootout in the finals against City.
A very tight match ended well
Champions League Final Well i certainly got my revenge against City, first by taken 4th place on the last day and now winning the CHL Finals.
I cant believe i actually won this final with my luck in this game! but it was deserved! - right after they sacked manager Roberto de matteo

Now i only need to get revenge against Aston Villa and Chelsea ;)

    Squad

Adam Got him on free at the start of the season
Kuipers His season number 6 in the club
    Ivanov
    Dida
Robson Our own product, has really improved this season

    Transfers

    Goals for the upcoming season:
Much needed is a replacement for Dida as he is getting old, i have already decided to splash the cash(38m) on This Guy
so it wont be easy to find one.
And surely our focus will be on winning the league this year and complete the challenge.

Hastings United, Season 2011-12 – Season Two, Blue Square South

    Summary
A good season, massive improvement on last year. If it weren’t for a terrible run at the end of the season, we would have been in the playoffs at least. The striker issue has been dramatically solved as you will see, and we’re now ready for a major promotion push next season.

    Transfers

Five of the new signings were first team regulars this season, including Marcus Cassius who is already the club’s all-time record goalscorer in the league! More on him and a few others later. Hayes has been signed since the end of the season, as a good (young) cover/partner for Phil Parkin.

    Competition Reports

    Blue Square South
7 defeats in the last 17 games was a real problem, and the seven points we dropped in the last three matches would have propelled us into a playoff place.

The Final Table this season. Hampton & Richmond just about held off Eastleigh for automatic promotion having led the table almost constantly from about November.

Bishop’s Stortford made up for their Playoff Final heartbreak last season by beating Dover on penalties in the final this year. Dover themselves had beaten Eastleigh in the first leg on penalties.

    The e.on FA Cup
Managed to get to the first round proper before a disappointing defeat to BSP strugglers Hereford. Would be nice to get a big draw next season – a league side, or perhaps even a run to the third round and a Premiership side. Obviously that’s what everyone always wants, but it should be do-able. We could and perhaps should have beaten Hereford.

    The FA Trophy
Slightly unlucky against Eastbourne in the 1st round proper.

    The squad.
With selected stats for all competitions, ordered by the amount of time they spent on the pitch – a rough guide to their importance to the team I suppose. Minimum 5 hours on the pitch to be included in the screenshot...
Of the major players, only Scarsella was significantly under 7.00 AvR this season.

    Key Players

    Phil Parkin
This guy is going to be a real legend at the club. Already he holds the club’s league appearance record. Improved on an already fantastic start last year, and has signed a long term contract to become a full-timer now. He’s already the club vice-captain and looks like he will be the skipper soon-ish. Expect him to be top of this list for years to come.

    Marcus Cassius
Spectacularly solved the striker problem, managing 20 goals in his debut season. Still only 21, he’ll be leading the line for years. What a find!!

    Sam Hatton
Midfield engine room and the Fabregas of Hastings United, he’s chipped in with plenty of goals, too.

    Andrew Hawksworth
Most improved player this season. Doing really well and could be a good player for us even in the BSP, I think.

    Sebastien Lake-Gaskin
Not as prolific as Cassius, scoring two goals fewer than Marcus in a fair few more games, but his 13 assists mean that he was just as important to the team, IMO.

    Notable others:

Louis Lavers had a good year, and John Aguiar did well in the first half of the season, before tailing off a bit, but at a young age he does look a good prospect.

    Finances
Whilst this wasn’t really enough, it is undeniably helpful. However, even that small profit last month has not really made that much difference. The wage bill has been cut a bit this season but we might need to sell this summer, I fear.

MY team of the year (which actually the AI agreed with!):

    Scarsella
    Hawskworth – Whittaker – Parkin – Lavers
    Mackin
    Hatton – Aguiar – Jones
    Cassius – Lake-Gaskin

Subs: Day, Craddock, Farden, Morrison, Lock
Overall XI….seven players were inducted this year.

The Fans’ Player of the Year was Phil Parkin.

    FPOY Wins:
    Phil Parkin: 2

    New Youth Cohort
My assistant touted this guy as the best of the bunch, but Liam Butler looks better to me, but neither will yet be in the first team squad.

So clearly this is a major improvement. I’m planning a few new signings but not too many as I feel that we just need that star quality to drive the side. I have been given a new two-year contract and my board love me. Any thoughts on the team? Backroom advice is that the squad is short of players with high concentration and determination, as well as players with a good first touch, good passers, and strong players. This pre-season, I will be ensuring that any signings are going to improve the side in at least one or two of these areas.

Have a feeling that some players have been omitted from the squad screen due to unavailability - looks like quite a thin squad and I'm guessing I had "Hide Unavailable" checked. Sorry guys! Still, most of the info you need is there.

PS - I uploaded the pictures after writing the report - they are up there now!

Cheers. I feel promotion this year would have been too soon - if we can push on with a similar squad next year, we'll be much better placed to survive in the BSP.

Is anyone else having trouble signing english youngsters - my new Brazilian winger has now become my third signing this season to be unable to settle so I'm scouting English players, however none of the Premiership youngsters even the useless ones are interested in signing for me, whilst the teams want silly money for the decent ones and to make things worse the Premiership teams appear to poach any of the Lower League youngsters with potential and stick them on wages worth ~£7K p/w which puts them out of my reach when they decide they don't want them

Yeah I had some issues with it until the club reputation started to climb, I think there is way to much emphasis on that right now, hope it gets fixed in 2011, I just don't get why a player would sit out all season not to play with a solid team even on a short contract, does not seem realistic.

Truro 1st Season- 2009/10 Blue Square Prem South Final Position: 15th

On reflection, an "alright" start to my Truro campaign. Started the season off really poorly but hired a few extra players and things soon picked up. Although the final position was 15th, there is room for improvement, and some of the first team players which have been playing week in week out, should develop as alongside an overhaul of the current playing staff.

In the cups extremely poor showing, exiting in the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup and the 3rd Qualifying of the FA Trophy.

Financially truro has hardly any money so a lot of players are still on part time contacts.

Target for next season is to gain promotion, its a big ask, but if i get the signings right then it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

CaptainStarbuster's Season Review - Truro City - Blue Square South 2010/2011

Disappointed in myself with this ending as I started the season well with a few wins away especially. Media prediction was 17th, so at least I did better than what they predicted

    Finished 16th in the League

Knocked out of FA Trophy at the 3rd Qualifying Round after a replay

Knocked out of FA at 2nd Qualifying Round

    League Table

I think I may have went a little overboard with transfers too this year. I brought in 16 players in total and still wasnt the best team in the league by a country mile! But oh well!

    Transfers

I also think I went overboard with the contracts I offered these players as I'm now in a little bit of bother with the bank manager! Appearance bonuses are not the way forward at all!

    Finances

But I'm going to stick at it and hopefully bolster the squad in the offseason with a few loans in and might even make the playoffs next season...here's hoping!!

    WIsh me luck in 2011/2012

Looks like a potential wonderkid, why would you want to retrain him as with his tackling and passing and workrate already decent he looks a good centre midfielder, besides his crossing is comparativly low.
maybe could do with a good mentor to improve those mental attributes

Well once again I have convincingly lost my first game of the season, 4-0 to Basingstoke. But the same thing happened last year and we went on to get very close to a playoff place in the end. Hopefully we can crack on this year and do better. I need to find a replacement DMC as I had to let a couple go over the summer to fix the finances. Have now got the wage bill under control and apart from the DMC position, I believe the team has improved.

Having completed the challenge I can't really be bothered to take screenshots etc, but I'll keep my progress updated.

It was a good season, which saw us regain our league title with 7 games still to play. We didnt win in our last 10 league matches, but our form prior to this had been brilliant. I rested my stars for the Champions League. We won the FA Cup, beating Tottenham, who had earlier in the season beaten us convincingly in the League Cup semi final. The Champions League itself was a strange affair; an oversight on my part saw us without a few of our best players in the group stages, and then I foolishly sold my Left back in January, ignorant to the fact his replacement was cup tied.

Transfer wise, I splashed the cash on a 21 year old Belarussian wonderkid, a striker who I had tried to sign 2 years previously, but had chosen Sevilla ahead of me. He didn't perform that well, scoring 12 in 25ish games. Overall I spent 56m and received 47m, so not a bad return. I've tried to adopt a more England-friendly approach to my transfers, buying in the best English talent I could find.

I may do screenshots later, but they've become a drag with my internet connection so slow.

EDIT - World Cup this year, and Brazil have just offered me the job after being knocked out in the group stages. I really wanted to hold out and get England, but Brazil is ... Brazil. Advice?

    Brazil offered you a job?

Brazil can kiss my ass. Got them qualified with games to spare for the World Cup and they sacked me for drawing in an insignificant Confederations Cup game with the U.S.A.

    But yeah, go for it.

    2022/2023 - Billericay Town - Barclay's Premier League

    League Position - Champions
    TABLE
    GRAPH

Well, there were a few stories this season, but since its the Champions League that's kept me from chalking this off as completed, let's start there.

The group stages were trickier than they should have been, we couldn't beat FC Kobenhaven, landing a pair of draws, and we lost to Fiorentina in the last match which made us second seeds. This worried me, because with the other English teams topping their group, it increased the chances that we'd run into the one non-English team I wanted no part of, Barcelona.

We managed to avoid them though, running into still parent club OL in the 1st knockout round. The first leg was at New Lodge, and while I appreciated Hans Blom's 5th minute header putting us a head, Lyon notched two in the next 7 minutes and then held on for what I would call a commanding 1-2 in the first leg. In the second leg, we went for broke in Lyon, and managed a two to nil win off goals from van Aken and Kessel. Nervy, but through. Lyon 0-2 Billericay

The quarterfinal drew us against AC Milan. Not very intersting, we thrashed them 0-3 at the San Siro and held on for a dour 1-1 at New Lodge.

We ran into fierce rival Manchester City in the semi's. The first leg was at City of Manchester Stadium, where Ikaheimo's 16th minute strike was immediately cancelled out by van Eeuwijk's 30 seconds later. The rest of the match petered out into a 1-1 which left us a slim advantage for the return leg. The advantage was increased when that man Blom scored a belter in the 25th to give us the lead, but John Bostock scored on 63 to knot the fixture. It went all the way to extra time where Ikaheimo's fine 110th minute strike sent us to the final, 3-2 on aggregate. Ricay 2-1 Citeh (aet).

That put us in the final in the Netherlands, where we would run into Real Madrid, who had vanquished Porto in the semi's, for the first time in our club's history. Real Madrid were led by a striker I had a bid accepted for a few years back when he was still plying his trade in Russia, Vladimir Kovalev. I withdrew after deciding I had enough small, quick strikers in the squad, and he's developed into quite the poacher for Madrid. Naturally, they have top class players across the board, though Barcelona are clearly the class of Spain on this save. Anyway, I decided to play it straight and go for the win, relying on the quality of my defenders to keep Madrid at bay.

In the first half, both teams probed early, with Madrid having the better of the exchanges. Consigli made one particularly sharp save from Kovalev in the early going, but neither side truly was in ascendancy. Then, slightly after the half hour mark, we earned a free kick after some nice work by Ferrari resulted in a foul 35 yards out. Haas had a crack and it resulted in a corner after it was headed away. Ferrari delivered a mediocre ball which was headed clear, but it was well read by Coutinho, who picked up the loose ball, settled, and drove a low, hard shot in the bottom left corner. 1-0 to the Ricay!

The rest of the half saw us begin to have the measure of the match, though we only had one good chance, again through that man Ferrari. Oddly enough, normally he's not part of my first choice squad, but I felt his crossing could be dangerous, as Madrid's central defenders are small, so I inserted him to the right of my attacking midfield trio, switched Óscar to the left side, and dropped Jensen to the bench. The half ended with us up a goal.

The second half, I'd love to tell you was a thrilling, pulsing affair, but truly, it was a succession of nervy probing and half chances for Ferrari and Blom. Madrid made three changes at the half to try and improve their fortunes, but they had even less going in the second than they did in the first. In injury time, Madrid had a free kick on the edge of my area, but Chamorro blocked well, the rebound falling to Óscar, who took 2 touches and released a delicious through ball to Ferrari. Ferrari sprinted forward, lined up his shot, and arrowed our second into the top corner. 2-0 and the cup's as good as ours. And it was, we have won the UEFA Champions League!

    Champions League Final
    Champions League Fixtures

The season itself was dominant, losing only 1 match in the league, and winning the FA Cup against Arsenal. We were dumped out early by Liverpool in the Carling Cup, not that I minded much. Here's a link dump of the rest of the results:

    FA Cup Winners
    FA Cup results
    Carling Cup Results
    Community Shield

I decided to go for it this season, and I made several key personnel moves. Óscar was drafted in from Barca for a huge fee, while van Aken and Consigli arrived on frees with huge wages. Killoran and Sheridan were stolen from a Sunderland in administration for a combined 8MM. The long and short of all this is we lost a ton of money this year, and I'm selling like mad in the summer to make up for it. van Aken has already had a bid of 31MM accepted from Real Madrid, and while he was good, I can't possibly turn down that type of profit. I'm also selling a few other long time servants, including Irish midfielder Gary Sheridan who thinks he's better than he is, and apparently so does Barcelona. A shame, since he's been with us a long time, but I've already made something like 60MM and we haven't hit July yet. We need this money, because we're finally getting a new stadium. Well named, I might add! Topor Park

    TRANSFERS

    FINANCES

Highlights of the squad this season:

Peter Killoran - A larger striker who came at a snip from Sunderland, he had a solid season, though he did get sent off in the FA Cup Final, underlining our season long discipline problems.

Lasse Ikäheimo - The Finnish starlet had a rebound, possibly due to more competition for places.

Hans Blom - He had a bounceback as well, including winning UCL Best Player. The Holland and Ricay captain is for my money, the best player in the world.

Andrea Consigli - A replacement for my Brazillian keeper who was dispatched to Olympiakos, he was brilliant, if a short term buy.

Matteo Ferrari - The young Italian had a real nose for the big matches.

Óscar - The young attacking midfielder has pace to spare, and while he settled poorly, was magnificent in both the UCL final and the FA Cup final.

I will definitely be continuing the save, with aims of taking an international job, as well as seeing the first run out at the park which bears my surname. This is only the second challenge I've completed, and while not quite as satisfying as my Hetman save in Gundo's challenge on FM08, it is one of my all time favorites. Thanks, dafuge.

Well I haven't learnt my lesson as I've just agreed to sign two Premiership Potential Spanish Strikers from Athletic who are churning out some good players and then randomly transfer listing them.

A bigger problem I have is that all of my new signings bar Lacey are now moaning that they can not handle the public expectations - if you cannot handle first team football then why do you demand a first team role when signing then!

This season I've given them a day or two's rest when we play Sat-Tues if they are tired as I've tried to use the same players.

In the past I've just left them out of the next game if they are tired.

It seems a high Stamina attribute is a lot more important in FM10.

Crispypaul - Boreham Wood - Season 2012/13 - League Two

I told the board we'd come in the top half and that was comfortable in the end as we came
    a very respectable fifth.

Unfortunately, we blew it in the play off final, deservedly losing to Southend.

We went out in the first round in both the Johnston's Paint Trophy and the League Cup, but made it to the 3rd round of the FA Cup only to lose away at Newcastle. Still, got some good cash from that.

    Our key performers:

Davide Enrico Somma was as good as the season before.

Luca Santonocito bossed the midfield well.

Mansour Assoumani was again sold in defence.

Jordy Brouwer banged in an absolute hatful of goals to keep us in the mix.

In other news, Man City finally won the Premiership, Chelsea the League Cup for the 4th straight time, and Man City also won the FA Cup. Arsenal (unfortunately) picked up the Champions League and Bayern Munich the Europa League.

John Barnes' Leicester will now be playing in League 2, after another relegation.

I was also offered the job at Brighton but turned it down (they're now in League 2 also!).

Hopefully we can push on for promotion this season, and I have secured some decent bosmans to help with this.

Looks good I'll have to put some screenshots up of my 3 academy guys at the end of the season, two have already been capped for Wales, and the other is regularly appearing for England U21s

Congrats on the CL win as well, bet you're very glad you carried on now!

Season Review: This season centered around one player for me, Claude Ludwig who had just been sitting around in France rotting. He signed after I threw in a large signing fee into the mix and then went on to score 49 goals and get 16 assist all why only missing 4 games.

Fitzharris was still in the mix but he enjoyed getting into form and then missing the next 4 games and going out of form, I think he will move to coming off the bench next season need to find a really high pace guy to feed Ludwig the ball.

    FA Cup

    Paint Trophy (Final)

Cup Review: Won the JPT, had a real lucky run and did not play a real solid team until the final, right when we were really in form and had every back from injury, got lucky on a few counter attacks and won the game over Charlton who also knocked us out of the FA Cup, so it was cool to get revenge.

I'll never understand how people are able to bounce from one league to the next. I always needed two seasons at least to solidify.

Early leagues are easy as players who are the best in the league are easily found for free.

When you advance a few leagues good players cost and you don't have much to spend then.

I got a double promotion, but it's been a while since I did three in a row. I always seem to get stuck in one league for a number of seasons, usually L1 or the Championship.

Championship is always a difficult league as there are a lot of ex-Prem teams. Or you get the problem I had and have the same stadium that you had at the start so the finances crumble.

I normally get stuck in L1, I am putting it all on that striker I got, he was simply amazing, he was apart of just about every attacking move we had during the whole season.

Also if I see the words 'Transfer Story Leaked' one more time, followed by offers from 38473847 clubs I am going to cry, lost two keepers and a LB already...

Things are so better in the Championship with a 14,000 Capacity Stadium - my gate reciepts were over £7m this season compared to £1.4m last season with my old ground.

One thing that is starting to annoy me is my players feeling the pressure of the media - I get a news item saying they are feeling the pressure of public expectation, a few weeks later I get another message saying they have learnt to deal with the pressure, and a couple of weeks later they are again feeling the pressure and repeat - Though it looks like there's three issues - they cannot settle, handle first team football and cannot handle the transfer speculation (as it looks like the computer teams are going to be making a strong effort to poach all my players in the summer) and one of them has personal problems

It was on 09 I had straight promotions with Staines so in my first season in the Championship I was using a stadium which held 2500 people

Never did get that season done either. Loved that save

Just christened the stadium upgrade with a 6-3 win over top of the league Chelsea. Oh wait they've dropped to third now and I'm 2 points off leaders Man City with Man Utd 2nd on the same number of points as City after 19 games.

Have had this problem as well. Made on eof them my vc and he seems to be handling it well and no such further from him.

This season has not started well. Had to scramble for signings to even get a half decent squad together as my first choices all got picked up by other teams and we can't get any consistency together. Plus, after we were taken to penalties in a replay in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying round all my players have been absolutely knackered, even after days off in training and we've lost each of the three games since. We're sitting 14th and I'm starting to worry.

So after nine straight defeats, including a 4-0 home humping by FC United in the FA Trophy, the board handed me my P45 Will start again, but definitely not with BPA.

    Nantwich Town – Championship 2018/19 – Season 9

So after surviving last season with no players and no money the plan this season with our move into our new stadium complete was to try and build up a squad capable of competing in the league with one eye on the future.

The board again expectated us to fight against relegation but this time doubled my wage budget and gave me over £1m to spend, whilst the bookies gave us even less odds than last season putting us out at 80-1, with the media predicting we'd finish rock bottom.

Transfers - even with money at the club we were still out of our depth and I again pretty much loaned in anyone who was willing, whilst snapping up some promising players that saw our record transfer of £7K smashed four times.

With better players brought in I was forced to sell the likes of Fitzharris and Adam as they just weren't good enough.

The Season didn't get off to the best of starts as we lost three of our opening four games - however my team quickly gelled and it took until the end of the year for us to lose another three games as we somehow found ourselves in third place just behind second placed Cardiff but a long way behind run away leaders Wigan about the closest I got to a title fight with them was when I was offered the Wigan job after their manager joined Aston Villa.

At the turn of the year I expected our form to disappear again but it didn't as we kept on going and after 35 games we could no longer be relegated and I took the foot off - nearly all of my new signings were unhappy several couldn't settle, they were struggling with public expectations and worse of all other teams had attempted to poach them all during January which turned their heads - however they still out performed the loan players and kept their places and in our 43rd game we beat Second placed Cardiff 3-1 to lift ourselves into their position and killed their promotion dreams, however defeat to Hull and a draw to Watford (were we needed a 93rd minute goal to rescue a point) saw QPR claim second place from us on goal difference with just one game to go.

In our final game we comforably beat Huddersfield however QPR easily beat Leeds leaving us in the Playoffs.

Final Table - a third place was what we deserved as we spent most of the season sat there.

The Playoff Semi-Final saw us drawn against a Hull side who we'd failed to beat so far this season.

The First Leg in Hull was played in bad conditions and we never got going however a solid defensive performance ensured we took a 0-0 draw back to Nantwich.

The Second Leg was our chance to attack in the first half we threw everything at Hull having 13 shots (7 on target) but we just couldn't beat Tom Heaton, we eventually took the lead just before the hour when Magnus Eikrem played a pinpoint pass to pick out French Striker Vincent Acapandie who made himself some space and smashed the ball into the back of the net, but as expected Hull quickly got an equaliser scoring a placed shot from the edge of the area, but with everyone tiring my Irish Striker Stephen Keane came off the bench and within two minutes had put us back in front racing onto a through ball from fellow Irish sub Lacey which proved to be the winner.

In the Playoff Final we would take on a Leicester side who we'd also been unable to beat this season rememberly throwing away a 3-0 lead earlier in the season to draw 3-3.

We didn't get off to the best of starts as Leicester opened the scoring after just six minutes thanks to Orlando Sa who scored his 37th league goal of the season(!) after 20 minutes we grabbed a rather lucky undeserved equaliser Magnus Eikrem's drifted corner caused mayhem in the Leicester area and the ball rolled into the net after hitting one of their players.

In the second half the game opened up as both sides started to tire and on the hour we took the lead with a trademark Nantwich goal a superb pass from Magnus Eikrem was picked up by Vladislav Dimitrov who fired a fierce shot into the goal - Leicester didn't like that and a few minutes later forced him off the pitch and then grabbed an equaliser on 70 minutes.

With my team knackered Leicester pushed on but my Keeper was in inspired form and kept them at bay which led to extra-time but by now even Leicesters players were knackered and so pens it would be.

We both scored our first pens, however for Leicesters second my Keeper flung himself to his right and palmed the ball away we then went on to score the rest of our pens with my Captain Toungara scoring the winning penalty that would send us to the Premiership

Squad - the couple of new signings made the difference this year.

New Keeper James Patton was a fantastic signing, Grant Adam had served us well for years but he was at an entirely other level at times stopping everything that came his way, though he does have a bit of a problem with shots from the edge of the area creeping in at the post. Providing cover was another new Keeper Irish Youngster Alan Dolan picked up on deadline day and he made a good start winning man of the match and a keeping a clean sheet on his debut.

In defence I picked up some new Full-backs at right back was Galder Ardanaz from Spain and on the left was Peruvian Carlos Perez whilst both failed to settle they were both in fantastic form and outshone the loan players providing cover.

In the centre Belgian Erwin Bauwens took his chance and formed a fantastic partnership with my Captain Moussa Toungara, providing cover was new signing Idd Hassan from Belgium who played well when called upon.

In midfield the wings were the weak points the best I could do on the right was to bring Andy Saunders back on loan from Man City who had a fantastic season though his inability to last 90mins is a problem whilst on the left were two Brazilians Leandro was loaned in and had a solid season, whilst Dario arrived for a record £1.4m and is highly rated.

In the centre Matthew Whyte and Magnus Eikrem built on their partnership with Eikrem having his best season yet and beating his own (and Nantwich's) assists record with 21 - he was so close to setting a new Championship assists record but Wigan's Sergey Krivets beat him by one assist. Providing cover was Promising Irish Youngster David Lacey who stepped up and should be a fine long term replacement for Eikrem.

Upfront Vladislav Dimitrov again led the line and his 25 goals was a new Nantwich record he also gained a British passport and reckons he can get an England callup, his partner Vincent Acapandie also had a good season finishing with 24 goals, whilst Angel Lemaire returned on loan and grabbed 20 goals in 25 appearances - for some reason when my players get to 20 goals the goals dry up - Dimitrov only managed 4 goals after Feb. Fourth choice Striker was Stephen Keane who produced the goods when called upon.

Overview - we did OK in the Cups well until we met Coventry, they knocked us out of the Carling Cup in the Second Round and beat us in the FA Cup 5th Round - after we needed a replay to beat Barnsley and just about beat Rotherham.

Manager Profile - no real changes, whilst it's taken 476 games to reach the Premiership.

Finances - we finish the season with £5.5m in the bank, as our new stadium boosts gates reciepts by £6m it's also nice to be playing on grass instead of mud as we now have a decent pitch whilst having Adequate Facilities.

We were also helped by our kit sponsorship jumping from £7.5K p/a to £65K p/a though a six year deal is looking a little silly right now.

So the plan for next season is to somehow survive in the Premiership - the Homegrown rules aren't a problem as I only have 17 players of which only 7 are over 21 - and 8 of them are actually homegrown with 5 due to become over the next couple of years, top of my shopping list is a right winger as I don't have one whilst some cover would be nice (as well as some actual Premiership ability players)

The board have given me £18m and £100K p/w wage budget to keep us in the Premiership which we might need as we have been given odds of 5000-1

    Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2029/30

    Predicted: 3rd
    Finished: 1st

Over the summer I sold on my new top strikers, although Intezar and Ortega did get me just under £60million combined.

The question would be, could I make up the goals? Could we go further in the Champions League after last seasons poor exit?

    League Table
    League Table Graph

The 'Invincibles' is a label I don't mind. Amazingly (and quite frustratingly), despite being unbeaten we still had to go all the way until the final match, as Man Utd were damn close to being as good. In fact the only loss they had was to us.

Community Shield Got this meaningless plate back.

Carling Cup Disappointing once again and the reserves/youth players really haven't been grabbing their opportunities in the last few years.

FA Cup Always nice to win the FA Cup and whilst unfortunately the final was a complete borefest with Man Utd, we did pull through and grab the win on penalties.

Champions League A shocking display of defensive nervousness cost us this year as Lyon scored in the last 10 minutes with one of the softest goals I have ever seen. Gutted and moreover.. angry.

Transfers Ortega and Intezar made way for Inter and Athletico Madrid for just under £60million together. 21 year old German, Marko Grgic was bought from Chelsea for £34million and he fully lived up to his price tag. The other big buy was Argentinian, Cristian Huarte for £28million.

Finances Getting more and more pleasant looking every season.

I have another first for me this season..someone retiring at Dartford!

Usually I have them shipped out by now but Roberto Conte has been a good servant for us and shortly after retirement at the end of June now (after alot of advice yours truly) has become a coach.

And going by his biography, he will have plenty to look back on.

Got a good sized stadium expansion to look forward to being completed firstly.

We are now ranked the number one team in Europe so I would like to think we could get past the Quarter Finals of the Champions League this season.

The biggest worry for next season will be how we cope without Curtis Mutch for the first load of months of the season. I may have to bring someone in, depending on confidence with my back-ups.

    Merthyr Tydfill Championship 2025/26

    Table

    Position

    FA Cup - 4th Rd

    League Cup - 3rd Rd

I started this season in reasonable form but won 8 games in a row in dec and jan. I followed this up with a ten game unbeaten run from feb to mar to put me in playoff contention. i needed in the last game of the season to put me in 6th and the playoffs. I won the first leg at home 1-0 against Burnley. After being 1-0 up in the second leg as well i conceeded 2 goals in the last 25 mins to put the match into ET. With no further goals the match went to penalties which i lost 5-3.
In the League cup i was completely outclassed 5-2 at home to Premiership Tottenham.
In the FA cup i lost 1-0 at home to premeirship Arsenal when i deserved to win.

    Transfers

I only had 1 million to spend this year but bought Antonacci over 48 months to strengthen the defence. I resigned Gagliardi but this upset the whole squad and his form was also poor so i sold him on in Jan for a good profit. Santamaria was sold on as i had several goalies. Guteirrez was a backup player and was sold when a decent offer was made as was Yahia.

    Squad

Vitello and Bonetti both showed good form and are really progressing into quality keepers.
If my rep was higher i'm sure Hagelstein would be a wonderkid but his performance was not good enough for his ability.
Miguel was disappointing sothe veteran Riveria came in and was excellent.
Antonnaci was the best of the centre defenders, with Bray and Tederschi just behind.
Roberto and Volpi were good on the wings. Rodriguez and Morisse were the mainstays in the centre midfield with Cano and Martin coming in and performing to the same standard.
Amestoy and Lehmann were in great form although they still missed a lot of chances, Kilicasian and Abraham were very disappointing.

Star Player - Not as many assists as i would like but his goal threat makes up for this, unfortunately now wants to leave.

i'm into the next season already and its not going well, after 16 games i'm 8 points from 6th. Too many of my players now want to leave and have submitted transfer requests, luckily i've put massive prices on them so no-one has made a bid but morale is not the best.

Yeah, I've just figured that out. Didn't look at the reputations in the OP, just took Nuneaton because they looked to have a pretty thin squad that I could quickly shape my own way rather than being stuck with the lifeless dross that I had at BPA. So I take over and I find that the media are predicting us to finish 5th and likewise the board want us to finish in the play-offs.

If I get sacked in this one then I'll continue with the save and just take over someone else who gets promoted in future years.

    2018/19 - Hendon - League 2

Once again, I hoped for improvement and maybe challenge for the playoffs. We did both in the end but the latter not so well. Nonetheless, I'm very pleased with this year's performance.

    Media Prediction: 21st
    League Finish: 10th
    League Graph

As you can see, the media know nothing. In our three years, they've predicted us to get relegated twice and struggle to survive and for three years, we've surpassed expectations. Arseholes.

    Transfers

    Squad

    Cups

League Cup - We crashed out to our parent team, Bristol City. We didn't go out without a fight though, I like that.

Paint Trophy - Thumped by Charlton.

FA Cup - We went on a magical run here. Firstly we knocked out League 1 Rochdale by three goals, Santonocito grabbing a hat-trick. We then struggled by non-league Dorchester by a single goal, before knocking out Fulham 3-1 to advance to the fourth rounds, the furthest we've ever got. A big TV tie versus Barnsley awaited, sadly we could not progress. The good news is we were back in black with regards to finances. The bad news is my prediction up the page came back and by the end of the season (5 months!) we were £150K in the red.

    Key Players

Kevin Atkinson - On loan from Bristol, top scorer. The whole works came with him and he was a very good signing on the whole.

Adil Mecheri - The Libyan international goalkeeper and captain has been with us for some time now but only broke into the first team in the last year. Solid season, 14 clean sheets shows that.

Kevin Ballard - Another solid season at the back for Kevin. Didn't score but he made up for it by being a rock in defence and at right back when necessary.

Pascal Bidart - A grand season from the French left winger. Nine goals and 11 assists is bloody brilliant and he had an astoundingly good season.

Danny Bryan - He may not have much stat-wise but he had a great season and often set up the person who would assist for a goal. Excellent buy if I do say so myself.

Lying first in the Championship with 34 games played and 65 points. Tho, Birmingham City is behind me with 63 points but with only 32 played games.

But getting more and more in form! Feels very, very good, so maybe promotion woho

    Mini Update: Dartford BSS 2010/2011

Im going to do mini updates every couple of months and then a bigger update at the end of each season.

    August/September 2010:
Fairly pleased with start to the season with 11 points after 8 games leaving me 12th at the end of September(made quite a few signings so hopefully its just a case of the players getting used to each other).Im ok scoring goals but leak just as many. Transfers: The usual Scotish youngsters from Rangers and Celtic and a few loan signings (2) from Arsenal and (1) each from MK Dons and Gillingham.
Took me a replay and extra time to make it past East Thurrock in FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Rnd. I will play Concord Rangers next in 3rd Qual Rnd (like that name)

Just found this thread, thought dafuge's challenge died with FM09, but i got positivly surprised!

After reloading 7 times and none of the reloads gave me Merthyr, I took Hednesford alias The Pitmen.

I'm unbeaten in 13 league games but, having just put together my first consecutive league wins this season, im lying 12th in the table, with 9 draws in the first 20 games. Need to turn more of those into wins. Badly.

Now unbeaten in 17 but only 5 wins in that period :-O

EDT: Wierd thing is happening. My star player, Phil Parkin, broke the club appearance record a while back and then got injured for ages. So the goalkeeper who has played most of the games I've played at the club overtook him and broke the record. Then he got injured, and now a central midfielder (Sam Hatton) is about to break HIS record. Do you think I should stop playing him for a bit? I cant afford to lose him too!

Hmm, Liverpool building a new stadium, called Rush Arena, but it's only having a capacity of 58k. Guess it will have a big expansion possibility though.

Depends, if they're putting us under a LOT of pressure, I'll drop the general approach down one notch (eg control to standard, or standard to counter), then check retain possession and push higher up.

If it's only a bit, then keep things the same, bringing on a fresh MC can help win possession as well.

The best form I've had from a striker. Including the first ever hat-trick under my management of Hastings Utd.

I've found it's largely down to the players you have as well as their fitness levels - my late goals are generaly conceeded when I play error prone players or tired players.

I've reduced it a bit by changing my full-back roles to defensive from support/attack, switching to control seems to work as well, defensive and contain worked at lower levels but against the better sides I've found it just results in near constant pressure.

It largely depends on what kind of late goals you are conceeding, but I'm pretty sure the determine of your players has an effect and your team-talks.

    Thx for advice guys
Usually im in complete control of the game untill 60-70 minutes and they score a goal, which is so frustrating because i know where its headed=) Often the defence makes a mistake and its a draw. And its seems weird because they are in pretty good shape stamina is +14 for all of them and concentration +15.
Ill try not to change to defensive and contain and see if it has an effect with control maybee.

I cant believe this; i JUST lost the first game of the season outplayed at home by number 15 3-0, and it seems to be just what we needed The very next game
