Past Positions
Pretty much exactly what I expected and aimed for, or rather a bit better. As the start of the season drew nearer it was obvious that I was neither going to find enough suitable players to properly strengthen all parts of the team, nor afford to sign even half of them. So, I went back to my old 4-5-1 and settled for a few new defenders and central midfielders, aiming to keep a good enough defence to survive the first season. We were playing at Upton Park for the first half of the season while The Fans' Stadium was being expanded, so the idea was basically to make as much money as possible from gate receipts and TV while spending just enough to stay up. We ended up making more than £22M over the course of the season in this way, so mission success!
FA Cup | League Cup
Didn't get very far, as usual.
Squad
Weak. Very weak. But strong enough when it mattered as we focused on taking the "easy" points against fellow relegation battlers while more or less fielding the backups against the big teams to give the regulars some rest. Pinto did great as the lone striker up front; 17 premier league goals in this team with this line-up is nothing to be ashamed of.
Transfers
Buying players for a PL team is expensive! £8.5M was seriously as absolutely low as I was able to go after scouting like crazy, and that didn't get us much. The pick of the bunch would probably have to be Javier, joining from Burnley to sort out my disastrous GK situation.
Aim for next season: It's going to be another year until the new stadium is built and we're now back at our rented 9100 all-seater (why did we pay to have this expanded again?), so it might have to be another money-saving season. Avoiding the relegation spots would probably suffice just fine for now.

Hendon Mid-Season Premier League Review Season 2020/2021
Sitting 2nd in the premier league in January and have just signed what I think is a true world class DMC to bolster my team for the last half of the season, we also have a league cup semi final tie against Everton to come and are really playing some amazing football. My old 4132 I used to get promoted upto the championship works brilliantly with good central midfielders and strikers, feel like we can score everytime we attack now!
I'll do a full report with transfers and screenshots when the season ends!
Hendons Season 2018/2019 Review
Well the first season was all about not getting relegated, we were given a pretty decent transfer & wage budget but I simply had to look at bosmans for the main part as I felt my squad lacked realy premier league quality players. Thankfully though there does appear to be plenty of regens from top european clubs that are available on bosmans each season that can easily be part of a squad that stays in the league, come the end of the season we'd spent £25m on players and recieved £7m, my wage budget was slightly over expected but then we did spend £8m less then I agreed so adjusted the budgets and we were fine financially.
I decided to play a 442 this season, mainly because my 4132 when in the championship didn't do that well and I actually got promoted whilst using this 442 so thought I'd stick with it. We conceeded alot of goals, mainly because we rarely dominated games so were under pressure quite alot and due to my defenders being average quality for the league we simply couldn't keep clean sheets.
However we did score enough goals to ensure we were never really in a relegation battle and ended the season in 12th position, top goalscorer this season was Bob Baird, a Scottish regen who I signed on a free transfer after his contract with Aston Villa was up. I later sold Bob Baird the season after for £6.25m to Sheff Wednesday to help fund my aim to finish higher in the league.
We did absolutely nothing of note in the cups either, mainly due to me not taking it that seriously as I wanted to avoid injuries to my first team as I didn't have the finances to replace any long term injuries.

Hendon Season 2019/2020 Season Review
This season I decided to keep with my 442 formation but aim to fill in the weaker spots of my team with better players in hope it will push me further up the table towards the european places, it didn't really work though and we still struggled to dominate games, even against teams I really expected us to which was quite dissapointing. We did have a better season though and finished in 10th place, so although a small improvement we did ensure the money kept coming into the club so we can try to afford better players so all in all this season was also a success for the club.
Yet again I was busy in the transfer market but this season it was harder to find bosman players that I fancied to improve us as a team but I did find some backup players and players for the future so was still pleased with the players I was able to sign for nothing. We did spend more this season though with a total of £57m on improving the squad including a Brazilian centre back called Andre who I signed for £11.5m from Internacional, however my chairman decided in January to sell him for £20.5m to Arsenal which angered me greatly because he was my best player and was really playing very well. We also didn't need the money as we were not in debt in any form and my wages were below my wage budget but he still decided it was good business unfortunately.
My top goalscorer this year was Bulgarian striker Nikolay Lazarov who was a bargain signing for £1m from Lillestrom, he went on to score 13 goals for me this season but was later sold to Everton in the summer for £10m, I was pleased with the deal because although he was my top goalscorer I was only going to try and use him as a sub next season if I could upgrade my strikers so to get £10m for him was a good deal.

Lanthal Rowning - Tiverton Town - Blue Square South
Started as the manager of Tiverton Town. I've used them every time in the challenge since making a completely blind choice back in '07 with them. Never gotten them past BSP though, get distracted by shiny things very easily. This is going to be the year for it though!
Started by bringing in two scouts, a coach and GK coach and a physio. Managed to score Kristian Rogers as my keeper who seems to be pretty decent and wanted by several clubs. This is a new learning experience for me as I'd never, in the past, played players with pace of 1 but i have a few cracking players who are there or thereabouts with their pace and they're actually doing the job from what I've seen so far. Tiverton has got a really old team though so I'm trying to inject a bit of youth.
Pre-season has seen a 0-0 vs Staines, 1-1 vs Exeter and a 3-0 walloping of Braintree. Bookies have me at 14-1 which isn't too bad.
Bring on the season!!!
dlnwba86 - King's Lynn - Season 1 - BSN
Well i usually do okay getting out of this league, BSP tends to be the problem, so i was hopeful of a decent season back in charge of King's Lynn.
The season started off terribly, only 1 win out of 10 and hovering precariously above the drop-zone, but then, an unbelieveable run of form, probably the best i've ever had on FM, 15 wins in 16 games (not inc. cups) put me up into the play-offs spots. For the remainder of the season i battled away to try and catch Hyde who had been top since day 2. It went down to the last day of the season but despite a last minute winner, it wasn't enough to take 1st so it was the play-offs for us...
Play-offs: In the semis, a 1-1 draw at Tamworth was followed by a convinving 3-1 home win and set up a final against Fleetwood...

Needless to say, i was gutted, didn't perform at all and am consigned to another season in the BSN.

A good final position in the league i was worrying after the first 10 games as i was hovering round relegationbut after changing my tactics back to 4-4-2 we began climbing back up the league, if it wasn't for our poor run of form early in the season i think we could of been in the playoffs! However we managed to stay out of debt with a decent fa cup run to the 3rd round which we lost 4-2 to top of league one Southampton!

Looking Busy's Second Season at King's Lynn, Early season review
After bringing in 7 or 8 new free transfers and letting around half my squad go, it's been an understandable inconcsistant start to the new season.
After being the defensive specialists of the Blue Square North this season our defense hasn't been as solid, but equally that hasn't been helped by niggling injuries to defensive players. The switch to a standard 4-4-2 however has helped in the attacking part of the game, scoring far more this season. My two main strikers already ahead of last seasons total. I have been picking up more injuries, so a new physio and fitness coach might be needed.
After 10 games i'm just outside the playoffs in 7th, having played a couple of tricky away games at Altringham and Fleetwood.
My cup form is as bad as ever, having reached the 3rd qualfying round of the FA Cup i got drawn an away tie at Dulwich. My team always seems to struggle against the lower rep teams and a terrible performance resulted in a 2-0 defeat.
Anyway i'm hopeful of a playoff spot, against a media prediction of 17th. Not sure we'd be ready for promotion as most of my team seem to be suited to the Blue Square North and only a couple for the Blue Square Prem. I've also just made a request for a parent club after norwich severed ties. They've come up with ipswich who will pay £12.5K per year, and a friendly. Need a good run in the FA trophy to get some cash in, not sure i could survive in the Blue Sq Prem with another year of no transfer budget.
Just holidaying now. looking forward to having a good go at this this year
My scouts are doing an excellent job finding some top quality young players throughout Europe. Shame I don't have the money to sign any of them!
Heh, is anybody getting players requesting a £2 signing on fee? That must be, in the words of the legendary Jim Bowen, BFH. Bless.
Has anyone been the subject of a takeover and either lost or kept their job?
Well, what's worse is that I set my scouts to find free players. I just can't afford the wages! My finances are ok since I got into the Championship and we're sitting comfortably with £650k in the bank. but the board won't let me boost the wage budget to attract these players. We have a small squad too as I had to sell off some players to get new guys in, which usually makes the latter part of the season tricky!
Maybe they think that because i'm still using a BSN signing in the Championship I don't actually need new players!
okay I've taken over as manager of Kings Lynn

Farmborough - Season 1 - Blue Square South
A brilliant first season in my maiden season in this challenge. Made quite a few new transfers, James Keatings probably the pick of the bunch with 35 goals in all competitions. My squad performed above expectations all season, predicted to finish 17th, I won the league by 3 points, was tough at the end, however as I started to slip up and drop points every other game, lucky for me, so did Dover and the other teams around us.
The cups were a different story really, the FA Trophy I got played off the park by Aldershot (BSP) and beat 3-0. The FA Cup though was fantastic. Beat AFC Telford in round 1, Rochdale (after a replay) in Round 2, and then finally bowed out to Championship side Plymouth in the 3rd round, only 2-0 though and we put up a really spirited fight!
Aims for next season:
Stay in the BSP
Another good cup run
Maybe turn professional.

i'm beginning to think my ass man and coaches don't know anything. I signed Michael Noone and set him up as my main corner, freekick and penalty taker.
all my coaches think i should remove him and have someone else do it, he has 15 corners, 17 free kicks and 15 for penalties, their suggestions have values of 8 for corners and freekicks and 10 for penalties
There is also a big difference in my scouting reports on how talented a player is and what my ass man and coach think of them. my scouts tell me a player is cc1/2 potential, i sign him or trial him, the ass man and coach think he is only BSP. The 2 scouts, ass man and coach all have between 12-16 judging attributes
Another quick question. Leaked transfer stories, is that anything to do with my staff, or is it just some random thing that SI have put in the game and happens because i'm at a small club? Don't want to spend money sacking my staff (albeit they are useless) if i don't have to
Oh my, out of nowhere, I've won the BSP play-offs in my second season..
Won about 12 out of my last 15 games and sneaked into 5th by a point, then beat Cambridge in the final 3-2! Genius.
Update tomorrow probably.
Cambridge C - 2010/11 - Blue Square North
Tough season, very tough start as the club was sat bottom up until around December time. However, finally got some wins going, including a 6-3 win over leaders Southport. Impressive end, but still finished just outside the relegation spots. Already in the 2011/12 season and signed some players that should help move us up the table.

Had a surprisingly good season considering I had a very small, crap squad to start with. I basically started signing frees by the bushel in July and then never really stopped all season long. My Best XI probably turned over two full times between the beginning and end of season. Here are my transfers. Key transfers being my keeper, Gary Montgomery, the imperious Michael Standing in midfield, and the man I later discovered is a legend on these boards, player of the season Kyle Wilson.
While we had an unbelievable run in January/February that had Ricay top of the table, Braintree clearly were the class of the division and a hectic fixture list led to a 2nd place finish and the dreaded playoffs. In the first leg we were lucky to avoid a Bath side that had been near the top all year long and instead drew Eastbourne Boro. The first leg was away at Priory Lane, and a Wilson goal nicked a one goal result.
The return fixture was a bloodbath. A dour first half was livened in the 40th minute when my center-half lost his head and was given a straight red for a violent foul. I tightened the screws and set out my stall to defend. It got complicated when in the 65th minute my 4th choice MC who was in due to injuries/exhaustion got sent off for a 2nd yellow. The boys dug deep however and Ricay snatched the draw that sent them through with only the keeper being tested twice. Result.
In the final we faced off against Carshalton Athletic whom we had faced twice this season, losing a 0-1 that killed our title chances, and drawing 1-1 earlier in the season. They had been our equals in defensive record, so I expected a close match. I got one, though a Standing goal in the 4th minute left the result never really in doubt, as Carshalton create most of their chances on the break, and the goal meant I never had to come out. A dire 1-0 means Ricay are UP!
The cups were for the young and infirm this year, Billericay dropping at the 3rd qualifying round in both the FA Cup proper and the FA Trophy.
For next season, I'm expecting to continue to beg, borrow and steal for players. Our success was really more down to a couple key players and a good defensive tactic. Anyway, there's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Billericay Town
2010/2011 - Blue Square South - 2nd, playoffs - promoted, FA Cup - 3rd qualifying round, FA Trophy - 3rd qualifying round
Nearing christmas in our Championship campaign and we lost 6-3 to Charlton! So I had to shake up the defence. Reverted to the back four which helped me to win League 1 and we have gone on a nice little run, beating 2nd place (and local rivals) Peterborough, Bolton, Stoke and a good draw with Sheff Utd. We've climbed up to 6th now, but it's flattering really as we're quite a way off the top 3 and in the middle of a group of about 7 teams in reach of the playoffs. But a lot can happen in the time remaining!
And Craig Rodger has scored 16 in 23 games so far this season. Taking his career league total to 133 goals in 201 appearances spanning 5 divisions (all for King's Lynn). Amazing player!
My photobucket is saying "mobile photbucket" and I can't use it (it's designed for mobiles) - any way to fix this?
Nantwich Town - Blue Square North - Season 2011/12
Blue Square Premier League Table
Very similar story to last season, won a lot of home games, lost a lot of away games, had a 10 game unbeaten run and then didn't win for 6 - unfortunately this came at the end of the season, it turned out that if we had won a few more games, we'd be in the playoffs
Nantwich Town's 11/12 Mid-Table Squad
I was quite happy with the squad, although most my major signings (Wiemann, Noone, Grieve, Sanchez, Mountford) all came near the end of the second window - I'm hoping that they all feature in next season.
2011/12 Transfers In/Out
As stated last season, a lot of my promotion winning team were kicked out and replaced by slightly more capable players
2011/12 Finances
A good cup run meant that my bank balance was slightly better than last season, I feel I'll need another good run next season to get out of the red.
Nantwich Towns 2012/13 Season Ambitions
This is the season we go up, I have a good core squad now and only really need to improve the ML and MR positions - another good FA cup run is essential

Not an opening season to be proud of but survival none the less, after losing my opening 3 games I found a vein of form and managed to climb up to 6th inside the first 3rd of the season, and from there things went from bad to worse slipping down towards the foot of the table with a string of bad performances which resulted in a dip in morale I struggled to shift from the players. Only my exceptional home form saved me from a relegation fight having lost only 5 times at The New Eyrie this season.
I made in to the first round of the F.A Trophy, finally losing against Histon, a BSP side, after forcing a replay. We also made it to the 4th qualifying round of the F.A Cup losing too Rushden, another BSP side.
Table
Finances
Transfers:
I decided that I needed to keep the budget low and didnt go all out for all the young players I see alot of you guys on here managed to get, most went to BSP and League 1 and 2 teams in my game, I just couldnt get them to come to Bedford, not sure if a low reputation was a determining factor as well here. Of those I brought in, Robbie Blackwell, a talented young right back was probably the pick of a poor bunch of players.
Best Player: James Dormand
The 24 year old keeper had a decent season with 18 clean sheets over the course of the 42 games so not too bad at all, so far he's the only contract I've renewed
Summary/Aims:
This team isnt good enough for promotion and money is tight, I will select the best performers and offer a reduced contract and then try to aquire some young players with good potential on very low wages to fill the rest of the team up and see how it goes next year, some 0% contribution loans this season might also be helpful to get some quality into the side. My attacking players are particulaly poor and my low goal tally this season reflects that so I will be addressing this in detail for next season and hoping to find a better quality striker at the very least. Im aiming for a finish inside the top 10 next season but with changes afoot with my playing staff I could finish anywhere!

My media prediction was 12th and i already had a decent squad so i knew that was quite easy to achieve, i decided that i was going to over spend by £230 a week on wage budget to try an attempt a play off place, half way through the season this proved to be a really good decision as i was sitting 2nd and 5 points behind first placed Rushden who had been there since the 2nd game of season! As games went on i hit a 11 game win streak a personal best and that made me top of the league by 5 points and goal difference. Anyways i won the league quite comfortably and finished on 101 points another personal best.

So I survived relegation from League One last night on the last game of the season on goal differenceI've taken screenshots and whatnot and will make an update soonish.
Season 3 - Blue Square South - Merthyr
We started off well in the league and eventually finished off in 5th. It came down to the last game of the season, we were at home to Eastleigh and we were a point off 6th.
We needed and win and it got to squeaky bum time. Jesus, Russ is a real Super Sub, he'd been on the pitch all of 2 minutes.
We then got into the Playoff final, Marcus Griffiths is the all time top goal scorer and top appearances at the grand old age of 23.
We had a decent sized squad and it helped during the times of suspensions etc. We made a couple of transfers and Downes was invaluable at the back.

Prehaps a highlight of the season was getting to the Fa Trophy Semi final but losing on penaltys but at least
And then my best players this season
Keatings - Once again a fantastic player, playing jsut behind the front two and getting alot fo goals and assists
Alessandra - A striker i got in on loan and then managed to buy for my biggest transfer fee yet of 4.5K. Great Striker
Guy - Another striker i bought in this season finished up with an impressive rate. Can you see the pattern of my best players all being attacking
Hutton - A superb signing, and one of the highlights of the season came from him playing consistently well
Honourable mention must also go to Kieran Walmsley, as you can see from his screenshot he is not that great stats wise. however he has a mean free kick on him! You cant see his stats on the screenshot because i decided to add him late as he got fans player of the year all of his goals were free kick including a 45 yarder but he got 5 goals, 7 assists, 3 MOM and an Av rating of 6.99 in 37 games!

Well i have some amazing signings so far.
Sean Derry
James Walker
Tresor Kandol
Aljofree
Looks like my kendal side could be going forward.
However i did have to sacrifice CUmbers who was on 600pw, and may also sacrifice alessandra as hes on 700pw!
Looks like I just completely suck these days. Having enver been relegated before I am now facing my 2nd one in as many attempts at this years edition of the challenge. Terrible stuff, just can't seem to get my team to perform anywhere near their level. I'm in the relegation zone and both of my goalkeepers will now be missing for the next 3 weeks leaving me with a hopeless Under 18's keeper to do the job. Think it could be all over again
oooh unlucky stinger, who you doing it with.
I would say best bet is to look at the scottish and irish u19s, quite a few may be available on afree!
i really hate mid table seasons, sitting 10th in league 2 with tonny, and tbh not looking like im going to do anything, beating the teams below me, losing to the teams above.
o yer im also so over my wage budget its stupid, 6 grand a week is nowhere near enough.
G. Keenan's FC United- 2018/2019 Season Review- Coca-Cola Championship
Season review: I had a very rough start to the year losing 8 of the first 9 games and as you would expect, this had me footing up the bottom of the table. My form however did pick up, Newcastle poached one of my better players Manuel Fernandez Gonzalez for £5m, which turned out to be something of a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to splash out £3.5m on now star player Paulo Monteiro, and it was Monteiro's goals that helped lead me to a respectable 15th place finish.

The most interesting team that came up in around an hour of reloading. Marine was the only sub 1000 team that appeared.
Does anyone have a problem with the pitch on their home ground?
I'm playing FC United and my pitch just looks terrible! With the rains, any long ball over the top just sticks to the pitch instead of bouncing and going out of play which is ****ing me off a LOT.
Any advice? I'm assuming relaying the pitch is not an option. (Please let me know if it is!)
Has anyone managed to get a new ground before promotion to the Premier league? Just coz i am in L2 and i'm getting close to packing out my stadium!
Just finished my second season and thought i had signed a great player in Julio Santa Cruz only to be refused a WP. How come i can't get a WP for a player whose last club was Blackburn, i never can understand how this works, it seems the game applies the WP rules more stringently than IRL.
I've got 6 games left of the Championship season and we're currently sitting in 5th. We've got a 5 point cushion between us and 7th place and 7 points between us and automatic promotion. So we've got a good chance of making the playoffs. But fixture congestion, both recently passed and in the final few games, is going to make it really tough on our small squad. But i'm fairly confident our strikers have enough in them to get a couple of results and secure a playoff place.

Another great season - and the first time I've ever got out of the Blue Square Premier in any incarnation of dafuge's Challenge, woohoo! Kept mostly with the side that won promotion so spectacularly from the Blue Square South last season, just added in former Celtic bit-part player John Kennedy at centre-half. Of the other buys, Jordy Brouwer showed potential after I trained him to break the offside trap, and Lee Rooney should become an effective force with time.
For next season I definitely need a new left back, probably two new first-choice wingers, and ideally a new defensive midfielder, so I'll be busy in the transfer market. I don't rate my chances of making it a triple back-to-back promotion, as we struggled to get over the line in this in the end. Also considering a change from my favoured 4-5-1 due to Brouwer's potential alongside the ever outstanding Curtis Stevens.
Onwards and upwards
Edit: Also just noticed I've made the favoured personnel list!!
Edit 2: And we've turned pro!!!

KINGS LYNN 2010/2011 - BLUE SQUARE NORTH
Here is my Managers profile
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...ynnprofile.jpg
As you can see I thought I would start with a automatic reputation rather than a sunday league player as I think it's more of a challenge
First thing I thought when I looked at my squad was it simply wasen't good enough to stay up at the first attempt so I decided that I would try and get rid of every1 in squad and bring in my new side. At the end of the August transfer window here is how my squad looked.
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...Squad10-11.jpg
As you can see I've got a few experienced players in the side none other than Malcolm Christie, Paul Jones and Sylvain Legwinski who all have played in the premiership. I was quite happy with my side and was confident that I could meet my expectation of a mid table finish.
BLUE SQUARE NORTH 2010-2011 TABLE
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...n-BSNtable.jpg
In the league we did far better than I ever thought we were capable of and stormed it after christmas, putting the first trophy in the trophy cabnet for a long while.
FA CUP 2010-2011
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...up1stRound.jpg
In the FA Cup we did quite well to reach the 1st round but were quite unlucky to get drawn away against L2 side Bradford City. They showed the gap in quality between the sides as they dominated for long periods but I was really happy that we managed to score. I was abit disappointed that we couldn't get a home tie as we could of done with the money.
FA TROPHY 2010-2011
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...rophyFinal.jpg
In the FA Trophy we had an amazing run getting all the way to the final. The board thought that we would only reach the first round but we marked this amazing run to the final by going to Wembley and player of the season Willy Topp bagging the winning goal to bring us the double in my first season.
Targets for next season
Finish mid table or better in the BLUE SQUARE PREMIER
Defend the FA TROPHY
Build a better side that can play in a higher division
Do better in the FA CUP

I cant get into this challenge so far this year. Ive tried a few different clubs but I cant get beyond the first few weeks before I give up. Does anyone have any tips for the first few weeks/months of the game? And who shall I pick? I want a team that isnt TOO popular, but neither do I want to have to do 100000000s of reloads! I really want to get going on this challenge this evening, too.
Anyone?!
Merthyr Tydfill BSP 2011/12
Table
Positions
FA Cup - 1st Rd
FA Trophy - 2nd Rd
This turned out to be a real nothing season, after a good start i slipped back and staying in midtable all season, by march i had no chance or being relegated or of promotion. This was caused by not putting a real winning run together, i tended to not lose for 4 games and then not win for 4 games. In the FA Cup i lost 3-2 away in the 1st Rd to L1 Crewe, this was a real kick in the teeth as the winning goal was a penalty in the 95th minute.
In the FA trophy i went out at home 2-1 to Forest Green which was a tame exit to a competition i could win.
The finances continue to get worse and i'm now 250k in the red which would have been worse if the board had not put in 75k over the year.
Squad
Transfers
Gallacher was my main goalie with a new backup a priority.
In defence Bailey started the season at leftback but some poor performances meant Noble finished the season as first choice. At rightback Hunter did well with Edghill providing the cover although he declined as the season went on.
At centre back Rodgers was excellent and pretty good at right back when needed, alongside him Camano didn't hit the heights of last year. The backups of Thomas and Hartshorn did ok but lack the quality going foward and will be leaving.
In midfield i signed Prutton to drive the team foward but he was inconsistant in his displays and i was disappointed overall as i expected more. By contrast Millar showed more. Hussain was signed in Jan but was a complete disappointment, playing poorly even though rated as a leading L2 player. Noone only played a few games after signing in mar but did well. On the right Shroot did well for most of the season before dipping towards the end. Watts lacks the quality to really fill in. On the left Mcshea started the season with Watson signed later on, Watson was only acceptable and will be moved on.
Up front Kisuka and Fitzharris were the main strikers, while Kisuka improved from last season, Fitzharris started well but missed 2 months through injury and played poorly thereafter, only coming off the subs bench for last few months of the season. Griffiths did very well as a backup.
Star Player - Finished as my top scorer which was excellent as he played half his games at left midfield before finishing the season up front.
I have some good signings lined up for next season having chased Eikrem and McDonald all year, they have now signed but couldn't get a WP for Julio Santa Cruz who would have come and is a L1 striker.
Code:Career so far: Season League Position Achievements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2010/11 Blue Square South 3rd Promoted via playoffs 2011/12 Blue Square Premier 9th None
Edit: started well with Eikrem rated at Championship standardbut only worth 4.5 stars and performing at an acceptable rating of 7.51
, i've found some leading L1 potential players but they all want 500 p/w in wages and i'm not sure they are better than what i have

How many players do you think is a sensible maximum to sign in that first year? And won't FT contracts drain finances like pulling a plug out of a bath?
most players will sign FT contracts for the same or £25 more than PT so no its not that much of a drain. As for signing players i never sign players who can't play in L2 or BSP but have 2 players for every position although it depends on the wages i'm paying. Also get rid of the existing deadwood as quickly as possible, they are often the biggest drain on resources
So, after shipping out all the dead wood and bringing in players to cover each position, we're looking at 10-15 signings?
I buy about 20 in my first season, usually 10 before the first game, then a further 5 over the next month...then about another 5 after a few months.
I think that players are more willing to come after a while, once they have been released by their club too.
I'm of the opinion, that if you buy 20 players, 8 of 'em are gonna be okay.
Marine - 2011/2012 - Blue Square Premier
Little update to share with you all, that I just panned York 5-1 in the FA Cup 2nd Round, so I'm hoping for a huge team away from home, to get the ££££ rolling in.![]()
My King's Lynn side have qualified for the Championship playoffs in 5th place. Just playing the last game of the season now with my second string squad and then onto the big games!
Sodding Reading at home. So i get knocked out, and a few pennies.![]()
Right I've decided I want to give the BSN a crack for the first time
So...meet the new manager of King's Lynn.
We beat Swansea 2-1 in the home leg of the playoff semi-final. We probably could have had a few more goals too. Now for the tricky 2nd leg!
Drewski. Boston United. Blue Square Premier. 2013/2014
Well, I said that I needed a few more signings that I felt would be able to propel us up the table and into the play-offs, and that is what happened, Promotion!, now that we are in the promise land of League 2, I intend on enjoying the most of it; for the majority of the season we were in the top 6, we also went top a few times, it's just a shame that we were never able to cement our place at the top spot.
Squad - Not bad, but I think that if I got another 20 goal striker to partner Paynter then I think that we would have been able to finish 1st, no doubt about that, our goalie and back four were a bit shakey but I have a few players coming in that will hopefully shore things up a bit, midfield was okay, again, a few players coming in that will hopefully add more quality, and just like the rest of the squad I have a striker coming in as well.
Howard - came in towards the end of last season to replace my other RB who was not up to BSP standard, did a very good job especially since he was only a few players that were able to get over a 7.00 as an average at the end of the season, he will be my number 1 RB next season as well unless I can get someone else in; Hudson - may not have got over 7.00 for a season average, but his 11 assists were crucial, he was perfect for the BSP, but I'm not sure about League 2, he'll have to do as I cannot get any else in who is of better quality; Paynter - this years Pat, who had a bit of a crappy season this time round, so it was up to Paynter top try and get the goals we needed so badly, and he did this very well, not sure if he will be able to do the business in League 2 but we'll see.
Transfers - Carp out, some half decent players in, at least they did the business.
Finances - continue to rise, which is a good thing, hopefully, with higher gate receipts next season I might have a half decent transfer budget.
My updated profile - my picture seems to have gone, weird.
Aims for next season:
Stay up.
Improve squad.
Make some money.
2011-2012-Dover Athletic-Season Review-BSN
Not much to report on this season. We never had a chance to reach the playoffs but we were never in relegation dannger. Kyle Wilson hit form at the end of the season so it bodes well for next year. In the FA trophy we were doing quite well until we came up against Northwich where we produced a horrible performance. We were also poor against Halesowen in the FA cup which was a disapointment as we needed a good cup run.

The second leg was a dramatic 2-2 draw. So we're through to the playoff final! The only problem is that one of our key players, striker Nile Ranger, picked up an injury. Not sure how serious it is yet though...
...he's out for 2 weeks, so probably won't be fit for the final. Fortunately his replacement is Craig Rodger's strike partner last season. So hopefully they can refind their awesome League 2 form.
We've got local rivals Peterborough in the Playoff final. The biggest prize in football awaits! Exciting stuff!

Good luck
---------------------------------
I just had this come up
I'd offered him to them as he had been sitting in my reserves...one of my first signings. I feel like I've stabbed him in the back, all for £100.
My playoff final score at half time is: King's Lynn 0-0 Peterborough.
A pretty uneventful half. 'Boro started brightly with a couple of chances but as the half progressed we started pulling off the counter attacks. No great chances yet though. Now for Churchillian half-time team talk!!
75 mins: Still 0-0, but tense. Craig Rodger had a great chance but couldn't convert. We've had the best of it, but Peterborough have threatened from corners...
80 mins: GOAL!!! 1-0 to King's Lynn! CB Miquel intercepts a 'Boro counter attack with a diving header and an incisive through ball from N'Diaye finds Chrapek in space and he slots home with a tidy finish.
87 mins: Peterborough break through with their winger Raul. He aims across the keeper but it is excellently saved by Vasilev. Nervous times for the fans...
FULL TIME: King's Lynn win 1-0 and are in the Premier league!!!
