Come on Hendon![]()
Yeah, I didn't find anymore after the first season so got rid of him, my gk coach is Lionel Pirez now who always comes up trumps with knowledge of French players released which has helped a great deal the last 2 seasons with being able to sign some real quality youngsters from France
I've downloaded the ddt file and it appears under preferences ticked. Gone on holiday and taken over Cambridge City but all the first team players have the regen faces. Have I done something wrong? or does that file just mean you get a team generated for you rather than having a blank squad?
Check if they have released players before you got there LCFC, in my game checking the transfer history for Cambridge City they had some real players which they released in the 2nd season (1st season we take over the club) so it could be they were all released before you got there. I shouldn't worry too much though unless you really wanted a specific player that plays for them as most these starting squads are pretty poor & can be upgraded very easily with free transfers.
Kings Lynn Update - BSN 2010/11
10 Games Remaining and sit in 2nd Place, 7 pts behind the leaders Braintree and only 2pts ahead of Worcester in 3rd,
However am 7 pts clear of the final play off position so looking promising for the excitement of the playoffs.
Dont think i can catch Braintree and the horrendous January we had really did put paid to any serious challange to them,
from the 26th December to 29th January
P9 W1 D6 L2
Really put the brakes on the seasonand coincided with injuries to my playmaker Milenov and my DM Ivanov, have won the last five since their return so back on track but i fear to far back.
Play Braintree away next so a good result could get us right back in there
Heres hoping
Playing Braintree:
Decided on going attacking as need a win if there are any hopes of automatic promotion
Get In 0 - 1 Adam Tong Header from a corner in the 6th Minute (maybe we can do this)
HT: 0 - 1 Still ahead, but have been totally outplayed, think a slightly more defensive/counter attacking style is required
Well here Goes nothing
We are totally penned back in our own half, and i can feel an equaliser coming, the lads at the back have been outstanding so far, hope thay can keep it up
We've hit the post
Lightning break from a defensive corner and a 20 yard screamer from Ivanov cracks the post and avoids Keetings on the rebound - Really could have done with a 2nd
20 mins left to hold out
1 - 1 75 mins - Couldnt clear a free kick and it was rifled in from around the penalty spot, gutted, but i cant say they havent deserved it
Am going to risk the loss and go for the win, back to attacking and if we lose another then at least we went for it, a draw us no favours at all
2 - 1 I dont believe this, 2 in a minute from Braintree. Didnt even get time for my changes before they hit a screamer from about 30 yds right in the top corner, looks like play offs will be the best we can hope for now
90+2 We have hit the post again and then its cleared off the line, a cracker from the edge of the box from Milenov, guess it just wasnt our day
FT: 2 - 1 to Braintree, we had our chances but couldnt take them, 2 minutes of madness cost us and with it i fear goes the automatic promotion place
We stay in second despite the loss but are now 10 pts behind Braintree with 9 Games remaining

Best of luck against Braintree![]()

Champions! After Christmas my team was gelling nicely, producing some great football.
League table
Transfers
When i took over Merthyr, they had a young regen winger who was touted as a player with a future at the club. Now he's worth a £100k, and it's getting hard to hold on to him, being 600k in the red

Aims for the new season:
Survive in BSP
get a good cup run, desperately need the cash, I have cut the squad to the bone, so need to keep everyone fit.
Got completely thrashed by Sheffield United, 5-0, but made £215k in gate reciepts, which is very nice.
Wealdstone are a third of the way through the season and we've firmly established ourselves as the division's draw specialists, with three wins, nine draws and just two defeats. However, there is disappointment among the fans about our recent FA Cup first round defeat to League One Millwall. The Stones were considered among the challengers for the FA Cup, and our exit has taken many by surprise.

season review this evening
Congrats Rattlesnake![]()
Been trying to play as Norwich City without much success so I'm going to give this challenge a go again. Got bored of it in 09 but managed top half Premier League in 08, I think I'll get bored this year I haven't really got into the tactics side this year. Maybe this will give FM10 a big boast that I need after struggling in 4-5 games as Norwich.
Starting out as King's Lynn. My Profile.
thanks roberto
27 games in with Nuneaton and I'm sitting 2nd, 2 points behind the leaders Blyth. The frustrating thing about my team at the moment is how inconsistent we are, it's always a win or two followed by a draw or a loss - rinse repeat! Oh well![]()
What sort of gates are everyone getting? my highest is 500 and I'm losing 20k a month, not very good at all. On the pitch though things are going from strength to strength.
I get around 600 for an FA Cup tie against a Blue Square team, 1400 against Millwall. By contrast my general league attendance is around the 400 mark.

Never successfully completed one of these challenges but I'm determined to give this one a proper go
After a few reloads I managed to get Kendall Town
Here's my manager profile
In league one we still only have a capacity of 2000 and we have an average attendance of 1993 which is 3000 less then the next lowest team in the league, really doesn't help financially but we had a cup game at Stamford bridge last season that made the club around £500k which has basically kept the club afloat. We are still only able to sign free transfers though but have managed to sell a couple of players finally, was struggling during the summer but the Jan transfer window has led to clubs making better bids.
I'm losing around 30k -40k a month with a avr of 381 attendance.
I'm getting stuck with tactics I'm playing a simple 442 with roles to suit my players and have a decent squad I was 2nd and was close to going 1st but since December my tactic has not been doing so well I'm in Jan and have not won a game in 6 and I'm slowly droping out the play-off placesIt is just a bit weird of such a change in form.
Lol, thenonleaguefootballpaper.com in the game has run a poll whether my backup right midfielder/right back should be in the first team. The results were 92% no, 8% undecided, 0% yes. Seems I am making the right decision in not playing him![]()
Progress so far, Billericay Town.
2010-11 was a hard year, struggled with tactics and form but survived the season finishing 17th:
League Table
League Positions
2011-2012 was better but not great, started to get the hang of tactics somewhat better but ultimately only managed mid-table. A good FA Cup run got me to the third round where I held Exeter to a home replay which really helped with funds although I got well beaten:
League Table
I forgot to take screenshots at the end of the season so this is the historical table.
2012-13 went fairly well, managed to maintain some consistency and stay in top half of the table. Somehow managed to get a playoff place and then had the experience of play-offs.
Drew 1-1 at home first leg of semi, and pulled back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 away to get to the final against Thurrock.
91st minute header by one of my DCs sealed a flukey victory, had been held deep down and fully expected a loss but by luck more than judgement kept them out and the late winning goal had me shouting with glee (probably to the neighbours annoyance).
League Table
League Positions
Now about to start my first season in BSP and try not to get relegated!
Has anyone had the boot yet? Most people seem to be doing relatively well
Money wise Im 24k in debt after 20 games in my first season, my average attendance is 438 so nothing special, Im currently spending 3.2k wages.. what sort of wages are others spending in their first season?
A few have, but you have to tell the board you'll get promoted at the start to get sacked really, most teams will expect you to be in a relegation battle so unless you are silly and suggest you will over-achieve the boards at this level can be quite forgiving.
Continuing on from the comment about gates, only 6000 will attend the FA Trophy final at Wembley.
My attendances for King's Lynn were around 1100 for the BSN, 1500 for BSP and are so far 3200 in League 2. Which is quite healthy. Our record is 5600 for the BSP playoff semi-final and we had 38,000 attend Wembley for the final.
Interestingly, 13 games into my League 2 campaign Bradford are sitting second from bottom with an average attendance of over 10,000!

I'm managing Boston too, Drewski. My youth team's fairly good, beat Newcastle's and Everton's in the FA Cup.
I'm 3rd in my second season in the BSN, how about you?
I've just sold a promising striker for 250k, literally in dreamland!
And moments later Crewe have offered me the job, 79k budget and they finished 7th in league one this year.
Nah!
Kings Lynn Update - BSN 2010/11
Following the defeat to Braintree i was concenrned that our season may tail off, I couldnt have been more wrong,
Following that defeat we were 10 pts behind them with 9 games remaining
Now 3 games left and only 2 pts in it,
The team have been on fire and really kicked on since, leading to 6 succesive wins, at the same time Braintree have had their first real dip of the season gaining only 3 wins in that time but crucially 2 defeats aswell
The teams run since the January slump ended now stands at P12 W11 D0 L1
One last push and we may yet get automatic promotion, even if we dont the boys have put in a fantastic effort to close the gap and will be on fire for the play offs
And that's my first win of the season, a 1-0 win at home to Kings Lynn, I think if I am to stand any chance of finishing in mid-table then my home form will be the key.
Season 2010/11 - Cambrige City - New Year Update
Well, I've gotten through the first half season and so far it's gone way beyond expectations. We are currently 8th after 20 games. Although we started far better and where to of the league at one point. The best players so far have been Charlie Sheringham, James Keatings and Valentin Milenov. We went out in the FA cup against Sutton Utd in the 3rd qualifying round. In the FA Trophy we went out against Welling from Blue Square Premier in the 1. round.
While everything are going well on the pitch, off is another matter. Our finances are rapidly going south, much because we only average 359 attendants a game. I am a bit over my wage budget, but not much though. Hopefully we can finish the season as we have started it and maybe push for a play-off.
Just had a news article with the title Gr-Andrew. God that is a horrible superlative to use for Calvin Andrew![]()
Season 11/12 - Merthyr - BSS
Was a rather poor season yet again, we started off crap up until around February, then just had a decent run, where we lost about 5 games in 15/16. We could have made the playoffs IMO, but for a poor away record, where the last 5 games we lost, were all away iirc.
Not going to go into detail, because again, there was nothing of note, bar a takeover from inside. Which I can possibly put down to lack of form, but the players were never really unhappy, so I don't know.
Squad
Table
Transfers
1 game left in the season, and I am 1 point off the top of the table team, Mansfield. I obviously would prefer to win the league, but my last game is at home to Mansfield. Game of Carshaltons career easily, deciding whether we go up automatically, or have to try our luck in the playoffs. My keeper is on painkilling injections to get through the game as well.
Well that's a great start for my new Kendall save. I've only got 3 centre backs and now one of them is out for 3 months with a hip injury. I haven't even played any games yet!
Someone has completed 6 seasons of this already?
Damn. My copy hasn't even turned up yet.
Hello chaps,
I hope nobody will mind me posting this here. As all of you are starting in the Conference North or South, I thought it would be worth posting this message up.
To anyone experiencing strange movement between the Conference North/Conference South, could you please report it on this thread in the bugs forum.
In other words, if you see a team based in the south of England who you feel should definitely be playing in the Conference North (I've seen two examples here of Hayes & Yeading and Billericay) or vice-versa (i.e. a northern team in the Conference South) then please post it up in the bugs forum.
SI are looking into the ways that clubs are assigned to regional divisions and I would guess that the more evidence they have, the better it will be. Hopefully then SI will get to the bottom of it.
Thanks chaps. Good luck in your challenges.
Regards,
C.
Hendon 2014/2015 League One Review
Well the season has just ended and we finished in 18th place but only one point above the relegation zone, however we were safe with 3 games to go but lost them all and ended up finishing lower then had expected. Overall after switching from the 4132 into a 451 with attacking wingers I think we were alot weaker then usual and have decided to sell my wingers and stick with the narrow 4132 next season and see where that takes us.
I would say if my youngsters progressed like I expected that we'd mount a challenge but it seems they have stopped progressing due to poor training facilities which unfortunately makes me worry a little as we have an extremely young squad without much experience. Do I stick with them or try to add some experience? I don't really know at this stage as I can't really spend much this summer as usual and the experienced guys always want around £3kpw from me which is just way too much when I only get 2000 max at my home games.
We did absolutely nothing of note in the cups also as Plymouth knocked us out in the first round of the league cup, Southend knocked us out of the Johnstones Trophy that we won last season and Crystal Palace dumped us out in the first round of the fa cup. This obviously impacted the finances a fair bit as they have been the main source of my income since getting promoted into the football league.
Will write a more detailed preview to next season as I really have alot to do in selling my wingers and sorting my squad back into a narrow formation minded one, lots to do this summer I think so will get onto it.
League Table
I've won the league. A tight 1-0 win over Mansfield, Laurent Robert getting the goal in the 21st minute, means that I win the league on 98 points, 13 more than what won the league, in fact up to 4th place got more points than the title winners last season. Turned out to be a good idea to put my keeper on painkillers after all, stopped some vital shots to keep me in it.
Professional football, here we come.
First time in any lower league game I have ever played in FM that I have got promoted automatically without needing the playoffs, from FM08 to now![]()
The cash flow situation in this game is actually quite irritating, I cant see any reason why I'm losing so much money per month. I'm 129k in the red and only half way through the season. I'm within budget...I don't get it.
i have decieded to start again after my computer crashed and i lost all football manager files (and other stuff)So this time i will backup my saves and have a go with my hometown Nuneaton who i supported as a kid.
i will give my profile soon
Well done Rattlesnake i am at Jan with my 'Boro game and sitting 4th but about 10 points off leaders H&W. Hope to make the playoffs tho'. Good luck in BSP
I'm favoured personnel as well, and I am getting a statue built for me outside the ground.Good times.
http://i34.tinypic.com/289fonk.jpg
Also had my staff limit expanded to 6 coaches and 4 scouts, which I thought couldn't expand before the reset date. Getting myself in terms of coaching a keeper coach, a youth coach, and two normal coaches with very good stats to train the players in areas that my only coach was lacking in.

Season Review 2: Farnborough BSS 2011/2012
Final Table: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...table11-12.jpg
Positions Graph: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...graph11-12.jpg
After a slow first half to the season I finally, after a year and a half managed to find a tactic that worked for my team (4-3-1-2) and as a result the second half to the season was great. We destroyed many a team, but with our attack minded approach we often left the back four exposed resulting in quiet a few high scoring games reflected in my high numbers of goals for/against.
Cups:
Knocked out early in both cups. Had hoped to have a run and get some cash but i'll settle for the 2nd placed finish instead
Squad: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...squad11-12.jpg
Loads of players left over the course of the season, both because they simply were not good enough and also to help my financial situation which is still well over the -200k mark. The squad as it stands would I imagine be good enough to servive in BSP. I will try and get some freebies from League 2 that will help me to climb the table a bit.
Star Player 1: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...aldprofile.jpg
My on loan star man at the back was great all season, will try and get him again for the BSP. When he returned to Reading he said he enjoyed his time here so...fingers crossed.
Star Player 2: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...leyprofile.jpg
My Irish playmaker was fantastic just behind front two in acm role, chipped in with fair share of goals and created quite a few.
Transfers: http://i780.photobucket.com/albums/y...sfers11-12.jpg
There were more out goings but couldn't get them all on pic.
Aims for next season:History:
- Stay up
- earn some cash
- learn lessons from last year (dont rotate squad needlessly and consistency with tactics)
- improve squad with better defenders so that i can continue to play attacking tactic but not leak as many goals.
Season - League - Final Position - Achievements
2010/2011 - BSS - 11 - N/a
2011/2012 - BSS - 2 - Playoff winners

I was proud of him as well.
Sutton Utd: Fa Cup Run
Fa Cup 2nd Qualifying Round: Sutton Utd 0-0 Ashford (Middlesex)
Fa Cup 2nd Qual Round Replay: Ashford (Middlesex) 0-1 Sutton Utd
Fa Cup 3rd Qualifying Round: Sutton Utd 1-0 Chippenham
Fa Cup 4th Qualifying Round: Staines (BSS) 0-1 Sutton Utd
Fa Cup 1st Round: Bristol Rovers (L1) 2-1 Sutton Utd
We played poorly in the early rounds and were fortunate to beat ashford on the 2nd attempt as they had played better than us in both matches. The poor form continued against chippenham but we ground out a win. We played much better against Staines and deserved the victory which should have been by 2 or 3 goals.
It had to end somewhere and i had little faith in my team getting a result against bristol rovers. We were played out of the park by them and the result flattered us. We even had a chance to clutch a draw when mark millar hit the post in the dying seconds after fitchett had made it 2-1 in the 88th min. Fitchett has been awesome for me this year scoring 11 in 14 appearances.
Only gained 44k from the bristol rovers matchi was hoping for more
here is my profile. I could have chosen Nuneaton like i said but Hornchurch caught my eye(sorry about my profile not being a link its just im hopeless with technology)![]()
thanks for the congratulations![]()
Boston Utd - Blue Square North - 2011/2012
Predicted: 3rd
Finished: 3rd
This had to go better than last season and for the most part it seemed it would. The problems became very evident right from the start of the season when we drew far too many matches with teams we (without bragging) should have d*cked over. It became almost a given that my players were not going to be reliable when it came to crunch moments in the season and how that came to kick me in the teeth.
After drawing the most amount of games I think I have ever experienced in one season playing Football Manager we began to start actually beating teams. In fact we went on a long unbeaten run (including the previous annoying draws) and kept winning for at least 8 or 9 games.
We were closing in on the top position (Stafford) and with three points between us, we met at York Street for giant clash. We took the lead and things looked like it was going swimmingly, however they pulled one back. We then took it again to them and forced a second. Then half way through the second half we decided (or two players..in two seperate incidents) that we were going to bloody hand it too them. Firstly my left back decided to play a long ball..right across our box (stunning..absolutely stunning) handing it on a plate for two Stafford strikers to one two between them and put it past my keeper. Then my centre back decides that he can't be bothered to jump in the dying minutes of the match and allows Stafford's striker again to nod one against the stump and in. Bollocks. No worth spit this team and it was about to get worse.
My best player (well..when he feels like it) James Keating gets injured in the last match of the season for 5 or 6 weeks. Ruling him out of the play offs completely. Writing was on the wall.
Our semi-final play offs last season were not great performance wise but nevertheless close matches. This one..again close but generally my players just looked so untrustworthy keeping their head and within 10-20 minutes of the first leg, my centre back gets sent off for a cynical foul. Tactics my arse, told him to go bloody easy! My guys lose 2-1 in the first leg and the second leg..they just don't give what it takes and go out..close..but with a whimper.
Playoff Leg One
Playoff Leg Two
Now I think (as I think about another season in BSN) I will have to sell a lot of these players and rebuild from scratch. Maybe bar a couple of genuinely good League 2 players, I need to get this squad sorted so I can storm this league next season and leave it behind me.

Carshalton BSP Season Review 2013-14 - 1st (Champions)
The media predicted me to come 24th, the board asked for me to avoid relegation, which I said I would. The media constantly all season told me that I would slip up and fall into obscurity. However, that never happened, and we looked like winning the league comfortably.
However, I did suffer a slight slump in form, but luckily, the lead I had from before was enough to always keep me in the game, and come the last day of the season, I was 1 point behind Mansfield. I beat them 1-0, with a Laurent Robert goal (who unfortunately is retiring at the end of next season). So next season will get me League 2 football, and professional status.

I think it's time to start employing the 'park the bus' strategy as soon as i get infront from now on...

Season 2011/2012 - Tonbridge Angels
Following 'success' (success being defined as staying up), I told the board we should've been challenging for promotion at least. Bad mistake. When we didn't challenge for promotion at all, my head was on the line. However, we finished comfortably in mid-table which can only show signs of improvement, a definite plus.
League Finish: 16th
League Graph
We did hover so slightly at the top for one game; it tasted sweet and I wanted more but the boys struggled from then on.
Transfers
Only one transfers but personally I think it was excellent. Eastham was a rock in defence. Thos who left were not needed and Vickers was just too old for the team, despite having good attributes. Currently, our finances are awful
FA Cup
A good run was ended by Torquay in the 2nd round and by a late equaliser after we had come from 2 goals down to draw. We had squeezed past Tooting & Micham, thumped Hastings United, struggled and managed to overcome Horsham and then went onto thump BSP side Darlington in the first round before falling to Torquay.
FA Trophy
We fell to fellow Blue Square South side Welling after leading and dominating for most of the match. We had thumped Carshalton to get here but we couldn't progress further and we crashed out.
Key Player Profiles
Michal Dolinajec - The 20 year old had another marvellous season, providing and scoring. He had 16 goals and 15 assists mostly playing in his favoured AMC position so an excellent contribution from him.
Ashley Eastham - An absolute solid rock in defence, shut out the opposition most of the time. Managed to get up the other end three times to score as well, including a debut goal.
Fabio Ferreira - Fabio had a great season despite not scoring or providing. He was normally the passer to the provider as he slotted into the AMR position very well.
John Leonard - The midfielder played in his favoured defensive midfield position for the majority of the season and was completely solid throughout - he even managed to hit two 30+ yard screamers which had me very pleased.
Kyle Wilson - Well, Super Kyle was excellent this year. Played as a lone striker and chipped in with 18 goals for himself and even layed on 10 for others. I couldn't have asked for more and only hope he can continue this form..

Right. Level 10 just takes too long, so I'm going to give this challenge another go. Anyone got a Boreham Wood Holiday Man Save?
I bet this stupid question has been asked half a million times, but are there any rules when it comes to signing staff? I wasn't able to find anything in the OP, but I might just be blind!![]()
Either way, I'm gonna start this challenge with Boreham Wood once they turn up.. have reloaded about 50 times by now, and have yet to see them.![]()
What is it with the fixture list in December I play on Sat 10th, then Mon 26th, Wed 28th, Sat 31st, Mon 1st Jan, Sat 14th Jan - I'm forced to play 4 games in a week, with a two week break eitehr side![]()
Michael I know this is off topic - but any news on your netbook skin and if it's released? I despise full screen modes but I'm forced to use it for screenshots and the like.![]()
Annoyingly I haven't recieved much of a wage increase, and now I have to get players on full time contracts, it is going to cost a lot more. Going to have to keep players on part time for now.
Got an Italian coming in that was released by Man Utd (real person too) with Championship potential and League 1 ability![]()
hi guys need help plz this is my first time trying a challange just wanted to ask when i choose my team it says head coach ? and not manager any help thx
After 7 seasons with Merthyr (4 straight seasons in L2 now), I've come to the following conclusions:
1) The war for talent is a lot tougher in this years version -- you can't just load up on academy dropouts like you can in FM08 and FM09 -- you actually have to make a lot more tradeoffs (i.e., one 4 star player wants 1000 per week vs. another one who wants 300 per week) which requires doubling down on scouting
2) Finances are pretty tricky -- even staying within your budget may lead to losses if you don't make good cup runs or really, really squeeze players during negotiations
3) It's unclear which tactics are the most effective -- in previous manifestations you could kind of stick to a proven system and you'd do pretty well
This probably reflects reality a lot more -- but is requiring some adjustments, to be sure.
Just my two cents . . .
Halcha. If you find Boreham Wood, please upload the game?!
2010/11 BSN - 7th
2011-12 Season - Nuneaton Town
Blue Square North: 7th
FA Cup: 3rd Qualifying Round (lost to Alfreton)
FA Trophy: 3rd Round (lost to Corby)
Summary: Despite my overwhelming feeling being that we regressed from last year, managed to only pick up 2 points less and finish in the same position. Found the goalscorer I wanted, but sprung a leak in the back. Complete revamp of the squad and playing system required methinks.

First season ends without promotion but a promising season all the same. Finishing 3rd and being in with a shout of the title until the penultimate game. We had a very young squad which lead to quite a few mistakes but they've now had a full season of football so expecting us to come back and be a force again next season and push for the title.

Oh yes, now have to try and get past Walsall at home in the Fourth Round.
I'm in the play-offs!
Question - I've got 1 game left before the season's over. How long after the last game are the play-offs, i.e. is it worth it resting my first team for the redundant final league game?
My attendance is now at................... 600, I'm playing in league two so I had expected the increase to be more than 100 fans.
Anyone else stuggling to sell players in the BSP for actual money?
I'm trying to sell several players who won't sign new contracts before the Irish and Welsh teams poach them for free, but even the ones worth £20K-£50K are only recieving bids of £0 plus a 20%-50% sell on clause from League One and League Two teams![]()
I think I have sold one payer, who was championship quality for money, everyone else has been free.
I could be wrong on that but I think its right.
So sounds about right to me.
promotion has allowed me 8 coaches and 6 scouts, nice![]()
