Well just played a few friendlys & they have been going pretty well, signed a few players that my scouts have suggested to me & pretty pleased with the state of the squad right now. Even have my first international signing after taking a young Bulgarian striker on trial before signing him shortly after. Will post some screenshots of transfers etc in a post when I have completed pre season but will post my profile pic below.

Now it's on. The new manager of Burscough. 950 reputation.
Right, have given in and started to holiday, done the custom database thing to keep the game going better once the challenge is completed, although my current computer has a speed rating of just HALF a star.....
What a game! - http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6...atcomeback.jpg
Jon Boardman can consider himself an Oxford hero, as he not only scored the equalising goal, but sacrificed himself for the team by bringing down the Woking striker just outside the area, therefore preventing a certain goal.
Into October now in my quest to glory with FC United. Doing magnificently, currently sitting in 4th place with 4 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Sadly, my best player, Keatings got injured on the first game of the month and wont be back into action till midwaythrough this month, we've definitely been missing him. Through to the 3rd qualifying round for the FA Cup also which is good..overall September was a very good month so its looking good.
Unlucky, playoff loses always hit hardYou'll be in a much better position to do it next year though.
I think I'm in a situation where I need to get promoted in one season. My wage budget is going to cripple the team in the long run. Glad I had the wage for Malcolm Christie though. He got a hat trick in the last match and is one away in the current one!
Hmm, it seems I didn't save my game last night before going to bed (dunno how though since the warning message pops up to say the game isn't saved - must have been my sleep deprived brain getting it's revenge).
Pretty annoying as my results had started to pick up, but I've lost 3 months of play and it's just too much.![]()
Will start a new game shortly.
Can someone please upload a save game on the 24th or 25th June for me to play please? I really doubt my PC will be able to complete that holiday in any less than 4 hours lol
Just thrashed St Albans 6-1, with 2 goal of the month contenders
I'm loving this game - every single time we score, it's like we've won the World Cup or something.
Hendon 2009/2019 Pre-Season Report
Well after finally getting the club I wanted to manage after around 70 reloads I quickly set out in reviewing my squad, all in all I wasn't that confident in the ability of my squad, especially in defence & up front so these were the two areas I decided to upgrade first. The first step in bringing these players in was to appoint two scouts because the club had none when I took over, I quickly appointed two who were pretty average but have 14 & 13 for there judging potential stat, my trust will go into these a fair bit in finding players from the leagues around me.
My first signings were two centre backs in the shape of Ryan Moran from Braintree & Tony Sinclair from Woking, neither strike me as potential football league players but I certainly feel they can do a job in the BSN, perhaps the BSP but time will tell. I then stepped up to take a few players who were released by clubs, a young striker who was released by Wycombe was signed going by the name of Daniel Fitchett, this signing pleased me more then the previous two as I really think he has the potential to be be a backup striker for a league 2 side in the future so definately think he will get goals in the BSN for me this season.
I then started to get some scout reports back & noticed a few Scottish players were rated as potential league 2 players, I quickly had a look at these players and decided to make bids on a goalkeeper called Connor Fairley who will provide good competition & most likely become my number one very soon. I lost out in signing my second target as he opted to goto a league two side but after a couple of weeks of negotiations I was able to bring in the 3rd Scottish target I wanted, Sean Fitzharris is a 19 year old striker, whilst he doesn't appear to be ready right now I have high hopes he will improve as the season goes on. Both players I signed from north of the border came from the Celtic youth squad so I have high hopes they will have the required potential to do well for a league 2 side in the future, hopefully Hendon!
I moved quickly to also bring in some full backs as my squad was very short on adequate quality in those positions, Ashley Lynch, Paul Keddle & Ben Morris will fight it out for the 2 full back positions. Also signed was young attacknig midfielder Staforde Palmer to add some depth to my central midfield positions, he can also play up front if needed so is a much needed versitile player for us.
However the signing I am most pleased about came in the shape of 19 year old Bulgarian striker Zahari Krastev who popped up in a search for young strikers, no doubt I have my coach Boncho Genchev to thank for the possibility that he was interested in signing for Hendon. The first hurdle was my inability to scout the player so I quickly offered a trial to the striker which thankfully he accepted & I immediately put a contract offer in once he was at the club, my coaches believe he is BSP standard so far & has the potential to be a league 2 striker so my hopes are he can fire us to glory in the coming season.

Can't wait to get home and play my game . Doing very well , im top of the league and beat Grays from teh BSP 1:0 in the FA Cup 4th rnd qualification game and got Ossett Town in the first round.

I am holidaying for this now. I hope for Dartford FC or Billericay Town![]()
I have got to find a new left defender mine seems to enjoy getting hurt every other game.
Get Kelly Youga
[/stupid suggestion]
I like this little sentence in the news:
Yes, I forgot that the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd are vastly inferior to these non-league giants"Oxford City will have to face the likes of Forest Green, Dover and Woking if they are to go all the way and win the FA Cup"![]()
I thought that at first, however it is simply providing you with a list of some of the best teams in the next round![]()
Not bad not bad, been holidaying for about 10 minutes now and in mid-September, maybe this will go faster than I thought. Won't play much today though, off to a few parties tonight

Game just crashed. Am going to start again one last time and get a team I feel I can get attached to ala Marine.
Carshalton 2010-11 Season Review BSS - 6th Place
An ok season, did better than I asked for, and were in the playoff hunt until after the final day, but unfortunately Woking beat champions Forest Green to get the final playoff spot.

Am now a lot in the red, and it is hard to make money in this division, so, from having 1.5k spare budget in wages, I am now £800 over it. Could do with a takeover or some cup success, arranged some friendlies to make money.
Hopefully I can get promoted this season.
Gilbster you are a legend! ThanksI would suggest Dafuge putting a link to a save game in the OP to be honest :/
Yep, thanks Gilbster for that!
Nps - Marine - since you mentioned Marine, here is a save with them, that I posted at the top of page 3 of this thread, along with some other saves!
aha. You stunner. Perfect. Cheers mate, really excited now![]()
I really want to finish this this year, have never got past the 2nd season, on 2008 I had a save with Billericay Town, but got annoyed with losing in the play-off semis 2 years running but stupid goals lol
save game could not be loaded, I guess I will download a save from the 3rd page of this thread
![]()
Thats odd, wonder why that didnt work then.
A quick update from me, struggling just as much with Horsham, just cant seem to get anything right at the moment on FM10. Languishing in the relegation zone with over half the season done.
Thats unlucky, how far did you get on 2009 again? I am downloading the Tooting+Mitcham game, as they are quite close to me![]()
Ouch 3 games in and all 4 of my strikers are injured already, also conceeded 4 penaltys which have led to losing all 3 games, fun times!
In just over 50 seasons I got Eastwood up to the premiership and never completed the challenge. Did spend 10 years in each of both the BSN/S and BSP and had a couple of relegations before bouncing back up again and things.
However not going to be able to even come close if I cant stay up in the first season, and yes I'm fairly sure its my tactics!
50 seasons!! o_O! The game must have run quite slow with all the extra data
Nope that save game didn't work either! Might wait a while to try this
thanks for the 24th save Gilbster
Are you patched up Addickted4Life?
Yeah that was part of the reason I gave it up, that and Gundo's challenge was calling to me even more. This year I cant see it being as much of a problem, because I will eventually be on my new laptop running Windows 7 so the game should fly. Its runnning fast on this desktop too though!
No I didn't install through Steam, do I need the patch do you think?
I can't score at the moment and my only striker who can has just got injured. Bah!
OK thanks, thing is, I just deleted the save games, so I have to re-download those as wellI will download the patch now then

Just finished the holiday season and Spurs finished 2nd!![]()
Third time's a charm?...
New manager of Hednesford
Cant decide whether to start the game on my lap top with 4 stars but it lacks a bit in the pitch, or with my other computer with only half a star but no lack in the pitch...
I'd go for the 4 stars, it will run faster even with added data in years to come
Any graphics for non-league teams ? I would like some for Dartford .
I wouldn't think so just yet, maybe wait a few days or check SUSIE
Phew looks like I get to make a little FA cup run, won my first two, I really need the money.
All packs from FM09 still work without any changes.
Finally. First win of the season although it was a 3-2 and I got two penalties. Still onwards and upwards, right?
Downloaded the patch and updated the game, and now downloading the save game again, I really hopw it works this time, I want to get a few games in before I go out at about 6 oclock.
So much for my cup run....
Oh well, so what should I expect for being $-200k+ for the better part of a year? Nothing good I would expect.
Well I've made it to the First Round of the FA Cup where I'll face League Two Carlisle away, I've earned £24K from my FA Cup run so far that's just taken me out of the red lets hope some fans turn up for the Carlisle game.
Hmm, winless in 5 games now, and we've only scored 1 goal in them too.
However we're still the club with the most goals in the league, so every cloud...
Balls. 4 from 4. Not a great start. Can't score and always lose by the odd goal. Naaaa.
My King's Lynn side are on the final stretch now. 37 games gone and we are 3rd, 4 points off the top two teams Nuneaton and Southport, 5 points clear of 6th. Our form is shaky, a few injuries in defence has led to a few frustrating games where we have dropped points. We were top at one point, although we only really deserve a playoff place. But i'd happily take an undeserved automatic promotion!

Season Summary -
As this was my first season in the challenge, as well as the division, this season was nothing more than a transitional phase. Going into the club I knew absolutely nobody, apart from Billy Bricknell and Jamie Dormer, who I remembered from this stage of last year's challenge. The only aim I had was to survive in the division, and despite not winning many games, drawing 17 of them was what made sure we survived. Since it was a transitional phase, I didn't really have a 'first 11', as near enough every new signing broke into the first team immediately.
Due to Setanta's timely bankruptcy, there were only 2 Cups for us to take part in this season, The FA Cup and the FA Trophy. The latter I didn't really cared about and played fringe players, we got past the first match, but the second game was where the fringe met their match and lost 2-0. The FA Cup though, was of course very important due to the potentially large financial rewards in the 'later' rounds. The first 2 games were against lower division opposition, both of these teams were beaten 2-1. In the next round however we drew Blue Square Premier side Grays, who were too strong for us and we lost 2-0.
With all this taken into account, what can we hope for next season? Well with the 'transitional phase' near enough finished, I now have a good idea of who my first choice are. As you can see by the 'best 11' I chose, I have a young squad, so bringing in some experienced players on freebies is definitely something I am looking to do. Apart from that, and the inevitable summer clear-out, I am looking forward to my next season, in the Blue Square North. Even though I'll have a better team, it will still be interesting to see if I do significantly better in the Northern division than I did this season down South.

We're almost definitely going down
10 points off safety with 7 games left.
Looks like im going to be going with a different team!
Well done on staying up Paul!
Decided to start again as FC United came up after a couple of reloads - personal
Started off by bringing back Kyle Wilson, who just scored the winner in the 3rd game![]()
Is it possible to set a nickname for your own profile name like you could in FM09?
I've tried different tabs and options, but I can't do it...
Nice summary Paul good luck next season.
My young Scottish Keeper Grant Adam has just claimed me a point away to leaders Merthyr, so after 11 games I'm second 6pts behind Merthyr and 4pts clear of Telford and Blyth.
Fired my assistant after we have failed to win 7 in a row, that will fix all our problems...right?
I believe I have the dubious honour of being the first one relegated twice with 2 different sides in this years challenge. Canvey Island earlier today, and now Horsham.
This is a worse start than normal even for me to one of these challenges but never mind. Will be back with a new team shortly. Might holiday the end of this season to the reset date and see if anything interesting comes up that I could take over.
Starting my re-load again, hoping for FC United or Kendal (Local Team) I always have problems getting players though, I go into the season with a squad of about 14 players because I cant find the right people, am i being to fussy? is it more about the tactics when your at the bottom of the pile?
Could someone reccomend a goalscorer please ? I desperatly need someone to step up and start scoring .
Just been knocked out of the FA Cup in the 2nd qualifying round by Evesham with Nuneaton![]()
Hi finally got the patch to download and have holidayed. I am now the proud manager of Farnborough. I have saved my manager profile and uploaded to Photobucket but I do not know how to get it in this post as a link. Can anyone help?
Pre-Season Freindlies: Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 2; Won both games 2:0 against Radcliffe Boro and Port Talbot, Drew 1-1 with Chorley we scored last minute goal, Lost both games 2:1 against Kettering and Abbey Hey
Finally managed to get a team below 1000 rep.
godemand is the new manager of Marine A.F.C.
Bring on the first season![]()

Its not fairi can't afford the game till next thursday!!! I might just complete the 09 version while i wait lol. Can't wait though!
Well my keeper has just earned me a replay in the FA Cup First Round, we somehow managed to grab a 1-1 draw against Carlisle without even having a shot on target - my goal
was a deflected shot that went in off the post and went down as an own goal
It also earned me £30K that'll pay the wages for a month.
EDIT: The fans have just told me they are disappointed with a draw against League Two Carlisle![]()

Well i've missed out on automatic promotion in my first season with King's Lynn, but we're in the playoffs. And thanks to a late rally in the league we are the in-form side, so i'm pretty hopeful.
For my third attempt, I will be Tiverton. Profile will follow if I look like staying up for the first season.
Looks like I have a lot of really old players in the squad. Hope I can get rid of them somehow so I can replace with some young blood.

My Manager profile http://i1020.photobucket.com/albums/.../MBlackman.jpg I see others dont have such a long title but i have done the best I can with it.Hi Rattlesnake I thought I would try my hand at a local team to me. Had a bit of success with them in FM09 not sure if I will be able to repeat it but I will enjoy having a go. Godd luck with your game.
Okay i think i might reload for another half hour and then go for a team.. the only team i have found interesting is kingstonian
Would I be able to take part in the challenge by managing a team from level 7 in the first season, like the leagues below the conf north/south?
Looks like Merthyr have finally fallen out of form, we are now top of the league after 14 games![]()
Figures, sign a new striker, scores 3 in his first 2 games, now hes hurt.
Dafuge what is the status with the website? Is that something we wont have this year ?
