Is my graphics card the problem? ATI Radeon X1600.
Is my graphics card the problem? ATI Radeon X1600.
Should be well above the specs, what's your processor?
This is an issue SI seem to have trouble killing off for good, so it may be down to the game.
It's probably an AMD issue - as that was what was causing the problem in previous versions of the game.
If you guys want help though, post as much information about your computer spec as you can.
and the rest of your spec? Memory, graphics, Operating System etc etc? Processor Make would be useful too.
2.2 ghz processor - 2gb memory. Macbook Pro. GeForce 8600M GT graphics card. Still very jerky on 3d!
I would suggest reporting it as a bug in the technical bugs forum.
I'll do it myself if I have the problem once I have the demo installed.
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 CPU 6400@2.13Ghz(2CPUs) 2Gb Memory,Windows XP,Radeon X1600 Graphics card.
I have the jerky match issue too. I only have a graphics rating of 1/2 a star. My graphics are onboard - NVidia GEForce 8300. I have the latest driver according to NVidia's site. Do I need to upgrade?
My graphics rating only has 1 star.
Have you tried going to Preferences --> Display and Sound, and changing your 3D settings to medium?
Mine only has half a star and will run on the high graphical detail setting, but it's slightly jerky. I changed it to medium, and although there's a slight change in quality, it wasn't a great deal and now it runs absolutely flawlessly.
Even on low 3d settings mine is still jerky. I have half a star too as previously mentioned. I have an AMD dual core processor 6000+ and 4gig ram. The actual game runs really fast but the 3d is suffering...
I have a similar issue with a dual core 2 duo 2ghz and nvidia 9600 m gt
Still jerky on low.
The first thing to ensure is that you all have the latest graphics drivers as that can make a significant difference. Also i'd be interested how many of you are playing on full screen. Cheers.
Windowed mode for me.
I have the latest drivers but only half a star. I play on full screen. The 3d ran great on 09?
When you're in a match Jonny could you try and change to windowed mode. Probably nothing but saw a slight issue regarding jerkiness a few days ago.
Robbie - Seems to run smoothly in windowed mode. Does that mean I can't play in full screen if I want smooth 3D?
Any more ideas on my little problem?
Not sure Jonny. It was actually an issue I spotted a few days ago on a mac but could not reproduce. If you move back to full screen mode now it 'should' work ok now.
anakin1975 i'd suggest a google search for drivers for that device
As jonny has seemingly come across the same issue as me i'd suggest for anyone playing in full screen to switch to windowed during a match and the 3D may run more smoothly
Already have. Everything up to date.
I have this problem as well, my computer easily exceeds the min specs. AMD phenom II 720 processor, 4GB of RAM and a ATI x1950 graphics card.
It was fine in my first game and it all went fine, but in my second it was horrible.
I too get jerky (and ugly compared to windows) match graphics. I'm on a new Macbook Pro Unibody 4GB RAM, 256MB Nvidia 9600M GT, and it should be able to run the game on high graphics setting. It was the same problem on FM09 (playing in OSX)...
Give my suggestion a try, it may help![]()
Guys can someone help me, I wanna know if I have the most upto date Graphics driver, but don't know how to go about this. I'm rubbish with this kind of stuff.
Cheers
But this is the demo, right? I mean I can see the shadows of the players in 09 and I cannot in 10. Surely this is just because it's the demo right? (Since the specs are the same or even lower than 09)
The demo is the GOLD version of the game. So what you see on the Strawberry demo is what you'll get in the box
Same issue here, well above specs. 5 star gfx card rating, dual core cpu, 4gb ram, running win 7 x64. Tried both windowed and full screen, tv view, split view, high, medium, low settings, you name it. The 3d engine is extremely choppy to the point of unplayable. Most likely culprit seems to be win 7. I'll try it on my laptop running vista 32 later on and see if it's any better.
I've been playing on win 7 without any jerkiness for the whole testing cycle so it is unlikely to be the only cause.
For me works well on fullcreen, very bad on windowed.
I have Win 7.
The crowd and the weather effects are causing the slow downs for me... so i have turned the crowd off.
I FOUND A SOLUTION!!
Disabling TRANSPARENCY on Windows 7 the 3d works well
****! I was waiting 6 month, and what did i get? Rubish engine, 23 models are running, but my mac cant show it to me, what the ****??? I was playing GTA 4 and burnout paradise month ago, and that was alright! Sega & Si what is wrong with you?? It is you job! 50 euro for that 50% done job?? ****
Wait, so FM 10 rates my graphics system 5 stars out of 5 but my payers look way worse than 09? How does that one work?
You didn't state which machine you have so.
Click "Start"
Click "Run" (XP) or click in the "Search" Box (Vista/7)
In the Text dialogue box type "dxdiag" and press return.
Once the program has finished scanning your machine the info will be available in the 'display' tab.
If you're lost then "save all information" and copy/paste the info into a post in the bugs forum and someone will take a look.
Cheers.
It's the crowd that kills it for me too. Pre season friendlies it runs fine. As soon as the stadium fills up it runs at a snails pace.
i got a match engine star rating of 1 but i have ran high detail got crowds and weather effects and stadium and it runs perfect so how do they work out that it was a 1 star rating
ya my graphics card is a way under spec intel chipset thingy that was build into my laptop and i'm somehow getting a four star graphics rating?....although it's still jumpy as hell
Yeah we believe there may be an issue with the 'star' ratings - for now if you are experiencing jerkiness in the 3D match engine, you should try running it on low detail without crowds. Thanks.
It runs absolutely perfect for me. It cannot possible be any smoother - in both fullscreen and windowed mode.
HOWEVER it has crashed twice as random points during a match.
I'm running on a mac 2.13 GHZ 4GB Ram Geforce 9400M. I think it has something to do with the crowds, as both times its crashes just as my player is going to score.
Where can I check my graphics rating???
2 stars havent had any probs yet
*touches wood*
I have half a star rating, yet my matches run absolutely perfectly?
If thats not even one star, I can't imagine what five star looks like!
Just to add my 2p to this issue - I've encountered extremely jerky starts to matches twice out of 4 games. Both times, there was a pretty intense amount of hard drive use going on in the background - when this stopped, the match graphics returned to being perfectly smooth. Maybe it is an issue with background processing?
AMD X2 6000+
4gb DDR 2
X1950 Pro PCI-E
Win 7 RC
Mines also very jerkey! played fine on 09 ive tried it in windowed mode with low detail and everything off even player names!
Heres my specs, could someone help please and if its not good enough perhaps recommend me a suitable graphics card, cheers.

gunnerg, I would very much suggest updating your graphics card drivers, details on how to do so can be found in our Demo FAQ.
Thanks.
Also why cant i hear anything in games? Not even the sound test in Preferences works...
I know this is very simplistic but have you reduced the resolution the game is running at in preferences?
Just downloaded the Strawberry and there's sound...but now the game crashes. Great.
3d was a bit jerky on my main PC for 09, so I played it windowed, then clicked on the taskbar at the bottom, so in effect the PC didn't think FM was the main thing running, worked a treat (if any of that makes sense)
Still no joy for me. Tried everything - low graphics, turned off crowds, weather, stadium etc. Jerky! Must be a bug.
Mine is also very jerky, even in 2D Classic mode. I've never had a problem with FM09:

Think i've cracked it! I tried all the screen resolutions on my mac and manged to get one to work. Try all of them during a game! Defo a bug.
OK i have tried every single different combination of settings - windowed/default, low/medium/high/auto select graphical detail, dont show/show crowd and all of them are practically unwatchable. I've updated my drivers from the ATI website and no difference. I know i have a pretty poor graphics card as it's the standard one from the laptop but everything was fine on FM09 so why is it so bad?
It is deffo a BUG!
I have a top of the range laptop with blu-ray drive, dual processors and 4GB of RAM!!!!!
The game processes brilliantly and plays nice...then you load the match and it lags or feels like it jutters alot.
This can get a little annoying.
Not a big deal for me but really something that should be sorted out. If BGS can make CM10 with a better 3D engine that does not lag - i am sure si could make a poor graphical 3D engine not lag aswell!!!
Don't get me wrong - i was excited about CM10 - Tried it - didnt like because of bugs - not tried it with the new patch yet but i LOVE FM10 despite the small issues so far.
BEST DEMO EVER!!!
I find if you use the touchline or sideline view it runs a LOT better due to less crowd being on display. A more realistic viewpoint for a manager too!
Do you guys think CPU and memory has a big affect on 3D performance as well, or is it more likely the video card? Ifind the game to run fast, but 3D is pretty poor for me. I have:
Core Duo 1.6 GHz
2 GB RAM
ATI x1300 Video
I am going to upgrade my video card but I am afraid that it might not be enough and I may need a CPU upgrade as well.
Well I have a dual core 3ghz and 4gb ram. The game flies but the 3D is very jerky in main stand view. My on board graphics chip set just isnt good enough.
Mine has jerkiness, however it sort of shakes it off after a few minutes - its strange!! Its a bit hit and miss, some games seem to jerk, some run smoothly
I've got a similar problem. It's jerky in pre season without crowds, but then when i get the big crowds in the league it's absolutely unplayable.
I'm going to upgrade, but i'm not sure what to do.
My current specs are...
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2350 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) GMA 950
Would another GB of RAM help me significantly? Or should i be looking at sorting the processor out? Anything i can do about the graphics card? I've got all the latest drivers installed.
I'm running this on Windows 7.
For me, friendlies behind closed doors (intra-squad friendlies) give no jerkiness at all but proper matches give some jerkiness. It is probably the result of my low RAM though as I have only 1GB on windows vista. everything else is beyond system reqs (4 stars on the graphic rating). I will try today without crowds when I get home to see if I still get jerkiness. I can do without the crowds but I really prefer full-screen mode over windowed so wouldn't want to switch that.
Not sure I get this star rating for 3D graphics, my 3d runs perfectly but according to my star rating I have 0/5 rating???????
Mine is half a star but the 3d runs fine... strange eh?
My match engine is very jumpy. Tried turning everything off, but still the same. These are my laptop's details if anyone has any idea what could be wrong.....

Thank you
I seem to have sorted it. Did defrag and set to low settings. Done the trick.
i played with vanilla with the white skin and it didnt seem jerky. then i changed resolution to windowed mode and downloaded the dark skin to use and now it is jerky.
I have always assumed that running any game in a window would be more intesive that full screen.
Clearly not!
I think i changed from Dark to White somewhere along the line aswell. Might be an issue.
ATI Radeon X1250. Is this above the minimum specs? Im playing on full 3-d detail (crowds, stadiums etc), yet im only rated at half a star???
This was a problem with FM2009 tooJust hope it gets sorted this time.
Any half decent dedicated graphics card should be able to run this little match engine properly... its not coded very well.
I also had the "black pitch" issue with the demo a couple of times as well. The drivers I'm using are standard Microsoft one, seeing as ATI stupidly decided to not support the vast majority of their cards for windows 7, so I guess that's the cause.
i have iMac intel machine
2.16 ghz processor
1 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram memory
ati radeon x1600 graphics card
match engine is jerky in windowed and full screen any advice?
Try to turn off cool&quiet if you're running an AMD processor, I've noticed that the thing runs slightly smoother when this is being turned of.
Speaking of which, what 3d ratings do you guys have in the game? I'm running an X2 5200+ and a GeForce 8600GT myself, a rig that is running the likes of Pro Evo 2010 flawlessly, and yet I'm given 1.5 stars out of 5 in the 3d options screen. No performace problems in the game though. Still was a bit surprised when seeing this.![]()
I have 1.5 stars 3D rating.
Windows XP Professional SP3.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz, 2.9 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS.
Match engine jerky in windowed mode. Same in full screen. Nvidia driver updated earlier today prior to installing the game. I can only play relaxed in windowed mode anyway, as I need to be keeping an eye on other stuff at the same time.
Had the same issue with FM09 which was why I never played it much and was looking forward to the new one. Oh well.
I had this problem last night when I was running other programs on the same HDD causing a lot of disk activity.
If your disk is "thrashing" ie the activity light is going mental when the game is running then look to run a defrag (start > all programs > accessories > system tools) or download a defrag program off the net.
Simple step by step (prob missing things but it might help others not to sure about what to do)
Stop everything running on the PC first that isnt needed, run a disk cleanup utility (I use the free one from IOBIT - search on Google and you will find it as ive had a brain fart on the name) this will delete loads of junk files and may also fix some problems you dont know about.
Run the defrag utility
Reboot your PC
Start FM and hopefully the jerky gfx is gone
Other options are to look at the free space on the HDD , if it is fairly small (ie under 20% of the total volume) then consider deleting some of the stuff there or backing it up to DVD or another disk if you can.
HTH
Your driver is 3 years out of date now.
Suggestions on how to updateyour driver can be found here:
http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=153770
This should help.
[QUOTE=The Gaffovski;4024418]I have 1.5 stars 3D rating.
Windows XP Professional SP3.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz, 2.9 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS.
Have exactly the same specs as you mate and the same problem. Worst part is that I only bought my pc a few weeks back and got that particular card as I thought it would run the fm match engine smoothly. Instead pretty jerky and even when I switch to medium detail it's still a little shaky.
Just updated my NVIDIA GeForce 8400M to the latest drivers.
Was jerky before in both windowed and full screen, still jerky after the driver update in full screen and windowed.
Possible to see your dxdiag please?
You can post it up on here.
You can get this by:
Click: "Start"
XP: Click: "Run"
Vista: Click in the search box.
Type "dxdiag" in the text box and press return.
Once the program has finished scanning your system click "Save all information" and save the text file somewhere you will remember.
Copy / Paste the top half into a post on here.
Cheers.
I am still really struggling with the 3D being jerky. My dxdiag is below. Do I need to upgrade anything? I currently have latest driver and 1 star.

It gets slightly jerky for me. I've tried to changed to windowed mode but it is greyed out in the preference screen.
Any ideas. I'm using vista and downloaded the demo through steam.
For those having issues, try turning off all background apps & only have the demo running. There are tons of apps that running in the background of computers that may be causing the slowdown. There are apps out there that can shut down all non-vital programs on your computer while leaving those programs that are essential to operating running.
For thoese with duo core pc's - maybe try looking at your processor affinity to make sure the program is using both cpu's. If it is using both, maybe try using just one cpu & see if that helps. Some programs actually run worse on duo core computers. Is FM optimzed for duo core computers? (Sorry, I'm not aware of all the specs for FM)
If I'm not mistaken (and I certainly could be) but doesn't FM 'simulate' other games in the background while playing your game? Maybe this is the cause for some jerkyness???
Please read up online about trying either suggestion (background closing apps & processor affinity). I wouldn't want my suggestions to be the reason someone cpu tanks.
Well, my laptop is rated with 0 stars and I still can run the game (quite fast) until the games. I still can see the game, but it's quite painful (almost like watching a game in rojadirecta)
Now, last year the demo didn't even give me the 3d matches options and after the 1st patch I could play without any problem. I hope the same happens for this version.
I also found out that with Vertical Scrolled Zoom works a little better for me.
Hi
I have played the demo and love it but just like last years 3d match engine for me its really jerky and laggy and doesn't run smoothly.I don't know if its my computer or what i hope some one would be kind enough to help me and tell me if it is but the rest of the game runs fine.

ill add to this.
i got a mac playing through OSX
2.8 core 2 duo MBP
512 nvidia 9600GM
4 gig DDR3 Ram
512 Hard drive.
i play through windowed, however its actually being played on my cinema display so ill say it runs about the same as full screen on a 15 inch, just instead transferred to windowed being powered on a 19200 resolution.
i get 1 star in preference which is disgusting considering this laptop could easily run more intensive games, and the 3d is simply not fluid.
the jerkyness is minor, yet annoying, you see it, like a mosquito but you can never find a way to kill it.
