how r u mhmoud i'm mohamed from egypt
how r u mhmoud i'm mohamed from egypt
Im going to have to be Hyde United in the Conference North.
A small club 5mins from where i live in the leafy suburbs of Hyde.
I use to be ball boy for them about 15 years ago, so becoming the gaffer seems kinda fitting imo![]()
Southampton will be a lot of fun this year.
In League One, 10 point deduction, but with a Championship quality squad and a multi billionaire owner. Fun times.
Glenn Hoddle Academy
I'm going to manage Cray. Unless I can be bothered t go down to Kent League, then it'll be either Corinthian or Erith Town (Cray mk II, half their squad used to play for us/are still on dual registration with us (strictly speaking only 2 of their players are DR)), and if I can be bothered to go to kent County League, Orpington, Canterbury City, Crockenhill, Sheppey or Charlton Athletic Community. So if I cba to go down low enough I still haven't decided yet. BTW I hope the data's right for Cray and the stadium move is programmed in for 2014.
Why don't you offer to research for Cray wandsfan93. Think there is a researcher vacancy (or there was the last time I looked anyway).
Regards,
C.
Notts Co on the demo...then on the full game 2 managers, AC Milan and my club Sheffield Wednesday
I can't research until I start getting to enough games, which isn't very easy when you're swamped with A-Level revision and homework (I stupidly chose 5 subjects while everyone else did 3 or 4 subjects which was recomended). All I can give are names and rough positions of the players, and who normally plays in the starting lineu. That's not too useful tbqh.
I always play in the Lower Leagues. So this year I'll be going as low as possible. (probably level 11 if I can).
For me, starting a game with Chelsea or some other world force in football is a bit weird... In any other game (let's say an RPG) you start off with no armor, fighting moves or weapons and then you slowly level up, working your way up to the top. I like to adopt the same mentality to FM.
Also it really helps you appreciate money and the financial side of the game. I can spend season after season stuck in the BSS with no transfer money. When I start improving and finally get promotion, to see that 0k transfer budget change to 30k is like winning the lottery!!![]()
Tottenham Hotspur.
First signing.
Sandro.
(because it's gonna happen in Jan for real...)
That's Sandro as in the Brazilian, and not Sandra as in Harry Redknapps better half.
Felt the need to clarify that.
unemployed is more fun. but if Man United says hello... well then... you might guess what will happen.![]()
I'll be managing Luton first, as I always do
Now you can add the lower leagues i'll then go on to manage my local small non league teams such as Barton Rovers and Hitchin Town.
I wonder what's going to happen with Ian Jenkins if I take over at Cray. Because I know he's the manager and if I take over he'll become unemployed but he sometimes names himself on the bench for games, he hasn't actually played for a couple of years but I don't know whether the researchers will class him as a manager or a player-manager.
Start with Barcelona, just to get the hang of it, then Chelsea for a long-term save. After that I'll start in the norwegian league with either Molde or Viking. Hopefully someone will make the lower division in norway and the mighty Trĉff could be playable as well.
Staines for me
I'll be keeping Burnley in the Prem hopefully![]()
Use Surf non-bio. That should do the trick.
EDIT: @ Matt.
Boro or bottom of the table darlo for me
I dislike playing top teams, so I would start with a very obscure 2nd divison team in Sweden, like Ystad, Halmia or Saxemara.
Blackburn all the way... Will probably give Leeds a go too
Exactly!
And it is a sort a wonderful challenge to have a team of mediocre misfits, lousy staff and incredibly limited finances and try to work wonders! There is no room for slack and wasteful behavior. You need to put every penny up there on the pitch, and need to juggle your squads and tactics to perfection to achieve results with your obscure team.
That can also be annoying if you get nothing for him yet the team that takes him on a free ends up making a healthy profit. That's how Cray feel IRL after losing Jon Main who's now a star striker for AFC Wimbledon, has been for the last few years since joining from Tonbridge Angels, and Sam Wood is at Brentford via Bromley. A youngster we got rid of too early had a spell in BSS and won player of the season before joining Dartford, and Moses Ademola, who left before even seeing the first team here, also went to Brentford, is now on loan at Woking. Can be really annoyong looking at those players and seeing what we missed out on and how well we could've done if we had the money to hold on to them.
I'll be playing as the nearest club to my front door in the lowest playable league on the disc. In FM09 that was King's Lynn, this year it'll be Corby Town.
Super Tottenham from the Lane!!!
Having experienced managing with money to burn in the demo (Notts Co) I shall be managing the mighty Mangotsfield United, Tier 8 (The Zamaretto League South & West Division). Magnificent poverty awaits!
COYR...
Southampton for me as always, looks like a good challenge, -10pts and still make the playoffs, good times just around the corner!!!
Can we take the demo on into the real game when it is launched??
Reading and Man city for the money lol
Derry or Celtic.![]()
It will have to be the mighty Gillingham for me. Gotta start a game with the team I support first, then when Scally sacks me when I fail to get promoted in the first season with no decent players and no money I'll probably move on to lower league English teams or lower league German teams![]()
I picked Leeds on the demo, got them 2nd in the league by the end of the demo.
i'll be starting out as an unemployed sunday leaguer looking for work below blue square north and south.
I have never played Football Manager previously, and know very little about European/World professional football. I downloaded the demo, and am just getting into it. I chose Arsenal as my team, and have been starting to learn the game. However, I think that I will try the Blackburn Rovers when the game is released. Why did I choose either of these teams? Well, I guess because I saw them playing on t.v.
Well, it's been a while since I was last here. :|
I think I'm like the majority, I prefer to start out as a big club, get to know who the great players and future stars are while I've got scouts who actually know what they're talking about and work hard on tactics until I'm happy I've got everything ready before moving onto my team (Nottingham Forest) or perhaps even someone lower down. Last time out, my favourite game was with Newcastle. Sofiane Feghouli anyone? Legend at £7.5m, never wanted to move clubs, value rose to over £35m and just generally ruined anyone I played.
I also like to start out managing England for a season or two unless a team I like offers me a job part way through, it gives you the advantage of English players wanting to play for you, you become their favoured personel much easier and you can quickly get into a couple of seasons in so the regen's are involved and that's a part of the game I like the best, finding the youngsters and bringing them through.
Either way, I'm looking forward to this one, can't wait for the 30th and I've not even bothered looking at the demo.![]()
Linfield fc:-)
I'm doing 3 games:
1) Bayern Munich
2) Dafuge's Challenge
3) A career game where I am going to start in a created league in Canada and try to work my way thorugh jobs and through the ranks to make it into the Champions League.
Burnley...last year tooked WBA 2 years a go Watford is a tradition for me to pick a promoted team in EPL
Arsenal is the oblivous choice, but i am not sure i have the heart to get Arséne Wenger sacked. I might go for my second team in England instead, QPR.
It's all about the mighty luton town!
Liverpool or Rangers or Linfield. One of the three![]()
Brescia- my usual fail to get promoted. Then Ill see.
Woking! ofc
Macclesfield Town FC My Home Town
Might go with a midtable German team. Don't think I've managed any teams yet. I am very familiar with England, Spain and Italy, so a different country might be good. I was also thinking of going the "develop own youth" route and spend nothing on transfers. For that, I'll choose a club with an Academy and good/excellent youth training.
Other opportunities:
Rebuild AC Milan with talent for the present and potential for the future.
Manage a South American club for the first time
Go East...East Europe and try to gain European fame.
Northern European team(Swedish, Norwegian) - again, never managed one of these so it might be interesting.

Spurs, Argyle, Barca. Perhaps Truro, too.
I struggle to stay with a save for more than a few in-game months if I'm managing a team I don't give a toss about, or at least have a passing interest in.
I will probably start out with Paris FC and try to get them into Ligue 2, using only French players. With Chelsea as my favorite team, that will be my ultimate goal to accomplish. In all the years of playing FM, I've never actually been hired by Chelsea, even with it as my favorite. Even, after I took Juventus to back to back Champions League Finals, wining one, winning Serie A three times, making the World Cup Final with Netherlands, I still wasn't good enough for Chelsea. Hopefully, Abromovich will look my way in FM10.
Well, i'm definately going to manage Feyenoord, or at least try to manage them, because i'm starting with a blank sheet.
but Feyenoord should be on top of the world again i think.
Tottenham or Lyon or Kettering!
My plan is to design an American league to replace the MLS with a Premiership-type styling with relegation, promotion, domestic cups, etc., with no history, and no silly rules, draft, etc like the MLS has. If I can't get that to work, then I will likely take Lincoln City in L2 and push them up to the Premiership like I did in FM09. Couldn't beat out Arsenal for the title, tho. Best I could do was 2nd.![]()
the mighty whites, LEEDS UNITED
Ipswich, wonder how many of the following I'll achieve (promotion, european qualification, cup win, title, CL) before the real life version actually win a game.
My team is Man City so after hopefully realising my dream and turning them into a dominant European team then I will see what jobs are available at the time..
St. Pauli of course! I'll try to achieve world domination for this club with the coolest supporters around!
Red Bull New York in MLS of course. Going to bring thierry Henry to the states after South Africa 10, just like in real life.
I always go my team Rangers 1st then Man Utd (my 2nd team).
Rangers aint to good to do in the demo but in the real game when some1 buys the club it will be better and Man Utd will be good because you get decent money in FM10.
Might then do a Real Madrid thing to see what the new Galacticos are like.
Cant wait till friday when the game comes out!!!!
Bath City FC
Might be a lower league team, in the conference and see if i can get them into my world super league when ive done it. Either that or start as liverpool like i usually do.
I always go Liverpool in my first file, then quickly get bored and do my big saves.. this year I'm thinking maybe Genoa or Sampdoria, maybe a Spanish game with Valencia
Will probably move Linfield into the BSS and play as them, or play as Red Star Belgrade and attempt to get them out of their financial crisis...can't really decide yet.
Zenit St Petersburg for me.Always wanted to win the Champions League with them but have never got past the last 16.Maybe this year.
Also a lot of money and quickly gain a good reputation.
I have decided that i will do 3 game saves they are Braintree, Newcastle and Liverpool.
I will spend most time on Braintree then Normal time on Newcastle then little time on Liverpool. They are all my favourite teams in real life . Liverpool is the team i support then Newcastle my 2nd supporting team then Braintree my 3rd supporting team.
im defo bein knockbreda in 3rd tier of irsih league 1st tym ther playable and i know half of the will belocked inside playing FM for a good while lol
Afc Telford premier league here we come
Only one team worth playing as and that's Vauxhall Motors.
bury for me.. managed them in fm09 for 10 years.. they became top team in the world!
I'll forever march with the Toon Army!
(See what I did there?)
Empoli. Always start a new FM with Empoli.
I'm usually Newcastle, and this years game will probably be pretty fun, but I'm the mood to start unemployed, so I'll be doing that.
I have enjoyed Celtic for the first time in about 8 years ..
Haven't strayed north of the border since I had hair.
Epic.
I usually end up at Djurgċrdens IF sooner or later too.

As usually i probably buy the game when most of the patches are out.. and then starts my Leverkusen career...
After working for Wolves (25 seasons) and Real Madrid (3 seasons) in FM09, this year I will take Bordeaux. Man City and Marseilles are also interesting.
First game always with Wrexham and then start a new game with wolves after the first patches.
Hardest job:
Too much expectations, Weak squad and a poor budget ..
Its AC MILAN
As a resident of St. Albans who has watched them Yoyo between obscurity and even more obscurity, i am really surprised that people even know it exists.
Career save Rushden and diamonds.
Pride of Rushdenshire
on my edited league (herts-beds-northants-cambs-bucks super league)
Start as Wheathampstead wanderers or Wootton blue cross and climb to the dizzy heights of beating Watford and Peterborough.
I usually start with Palermo. Because I like Serie A and this team have good squad with some high prospects but doesn't have lot of money so it always challenging and interesting to manage them.
Think i'll be starting with Hibs in a long term save which has Scottish, English, Spanish & Italian leagues loaded and see where i end up.
definatly halifax town. if you add unibond div 1 north does it start with their real players? and do i have to add them using the editor or can i make the unibond div 1 north playable as soon as i launch the game?
''Hajduk Split'' as always, and when I make all Croatian lower leagues it would be ''Dubrovnik 1919''
Mine is Chelsea![]()
Hayes and Yeading![]()
Lyon, Boca Juniors or Internacional.
Dagenham and Redbridge! Started with them on the demo and am really enjoying the season. Got them in second so looking to get promotion on a shoestring budget.
once ive added tiers 7 & 8 to England i think i may start with 1 of my local teams from the unibond div 1 north such as afc fylde, bamber bridge, chorley or lancaster, or maybe Preston once ive been on the database editor to cancel Sean St Ledger's loan + future transfer to Middlesborough.
I usually go Celtic, or I start in the Championship with a reasonably good side. The challenge of winning the Championship and the SPL are sort of similar ........ but I like the idea of going Derry. There's just something about the new match engine that makes me want to tackle the "career game" properly this time around.
I can see me managing a tiny club and enjoying the buzz as attendances rise and the crowds at the games get bigger, and the excitement of a full-house in a cup match against a bigger side, and taking my tiny team to play away at Celtic Park or Ibrox, or Old Trafford .... or, in Derry's case, a European tie somewhere exotic!
Am I the only one who feels the new match engine has brought the game to life in a whole new way ? Don't get me wrong, I love all the versions of this game, but there's something great about watching your team kick off in front of a packed tiny stadium for a friendly match against a giant and then coming down to Earth with a league game in front of 400 fans. It's just ......... different class.
