    Exclamation The FM10 Pre-Order Thread

Thought it might be a good idea to try and find the cheapest place possible to pre-order FM10.

So far, the best one i've come up with is shopto.net at £27.85

    http://www.shopto.net/PC/GAMES/PCFO1...er%202010.html

Blahdvd.com are selling it for £28.99, but all the rest seem to be £29.99. Please post here if you find it cheaper anywhere else.

I'm thinking that this year i'll just get up early before work and go and get it from the local Game shop or something. At least i'll have it there and then.

Compared to last year prices for pre-ordering seem really high. I do hate how they make it sound like you have a huge saving because the RRP is set at 39.99

In my experience ShopTo are the best by far in terms of price and service. They send the game out by first class post and allow missing parcel claims to be reported after about 3 days. Compare this to play.com who won't even allow you to report a missing parcel for 3 weeks!

Last year the hut was selling it for £17.93, but this year no ones doing it anywhere near that low, so as the price isn't a factor I'll be ordering from the site which gives the best service: Play.com

I think it was bought out and returned to a internet shop which is where they originated from, also woolworths are now an internet shop.

Zavvi (often typeset as zavvi, and also known as zavvi.co.uk/zavvi.ie) was an entertainment retail chain in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, originally Virgin Megastores. Zavvi was formed in September 2007 when a management buy-out team purchased the company from Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. It was the UK's largest independent entertainment retailer before being placed in administration on 24 December 2008.[4] Store closures took place from January 2009, with the last to cease trading on 20 February. HMV purchased 19 Zavvi stores to be merged into the HMV chain. Former managing director Simon Douglas and business partner Les Whitfield purchased five of the stores to form Head Entertainment.[5] On 2 March 2009, The Hut Group relaunched the Zavvi website.[6]

Just stole that from wiki so it seems Zavvi is defo back in business so i think i'll get it there seen as it is the cheapest.

Pirate copy - DON'T go there

The only copy I can get here in Cambodia is a pirate version; I'm ordering from England and having it sent on. Either that or via Steam.

Can anyone remind me, since I avoided the Steam fiasco last time; if I download FM10 via Steam (and it better bloody have the editors in a place easily accessed), what happens if my laptop is nicked or conks out? Can I get it put on another machine? Or can I fully copy the game onto my backup external hard drive to be reinstalled in case of disaster?

If you purchase or activate through steam then you can download the game again on any pc on your steam account. This will of course depend on how many seats we get and/or there being a deactivation URL again. Wont know this until sega make the DRM announcment.

As for postal strikes: Ordering through steam avoids this problem

I've got mine from ShopTo for the £27.85.

Mind you if the possible postal strike sometime in October nationally happens (I work for Royal Mail btw) then I would cancel it and buy from shop.

Not sure if anyone has ever seen this site it's a sub site of Find DVD and it's about games here's the FM10 price search http://www.find-games.co.uk/pc/B002K8Q07M.htm Zavvi is still the cheapest but several stores prices aren't listed so worth checking them out from the links on the screen.

I gave the local HMV a call to see if was the same offer if preordered in store - they are going to get back to me closer to release date. I'll let you know

I really dont know how you guys can trust pre-order delivery of such an amazing game! I know this sounds sad but I have for the last 3 years gone to ASDA at a minute before midnight on the of the release date to pick my copy up. So at 00:01am I on the 30th of October, I will be....AT ASDA!!

Personally I don't care if the game isn't in my hands the second it's released. It arrives when it arrives, and the cheaper the better.

I was going to buy it from Game on the day of release for £29.99, but I begrudge it when I know I can get it for over a tenner less! I don't care if it comes a day late :P

It should be quick, I live in New Zealand and my copy was maybe 1-2 weeks late?

Just looked at the pre-order gifts and they look nice but I'm not paying a tenner for them so Zavvi gets my order.

I'm glad theres a thread for this. I was just wondering whether I should pre order it off STEAM or am I likely to have problems doing it that way.

Also, I pre-ordered off Play last year and they were shocking, it was out on the Friday I didn't receive my copy till Monday despite pre ordering it about a month before it was out. Was gutting so I don't want to take that risk again.
