Wee Aja
I had no problems whatsoever. The game automatically updates as soon as a patch is released etc. Would recommend, but can't say if it's the best because I have no basis for comparison. draxyid
So does everyone just alter squads themselves?
ahmufcwafc
So does everyone just alter squads themselves? Check the editors hideaway, there are plenty of transfer updates there made by others on the forums. Saves the effort of doing it yourself
crouchaldinho
Very simple answer. NO. I hate Steam. Boo hiss. C.
boomheadshot45
I think it is. So user friendly and convenient! And the manual isn't really needed especially with the tutorial in the game.
peter199
Can the steam game be played if you aren't connected to the internet at that time?
ahmufcwafc
Can the steam game be played if you aren't connected to the internet at that time? Yes, you don't even need to have steam running to play FM.
Aim_Less
Steam is easy to use and very useful , i am using it since 2005 how to get the manual with the steam version: open steam -> right click FM 2009 ->view player manual ( Adobe reader is required )
Cougar2010
So does everyone just alter squads themselves? No, plenty of users just leave the squads as they are in the game.
NR-2009
instalation was made pointlessly complicated for 09 due to SI wanting to show power and profit with codes to cut out pirating etc not sure if it was the same on 08 or 07 but 06 was much clearer. From what i understand phoneline or internet is required for

From what i understand phoneline or internet is required for 09 yeah very very complicated you need to take a special course and all
r0x0r
Depends if you generally use steam or not. If you do, then yes it is the easiest way. If you don't, then there's no huge benefit to it, so just use the other installation, unless of course you can see yourself moving to steam anyway in the near future. For netbooks though, Steam is a godsend. No more digging around for the portable dvd drive.
