I used to prefer vids but now for some reason they take forever to upload (in 1080p) and it wouldn't actually upload in the end so I don't bother nowadays.
Don't use 1080p??
Thats full HD!!!
I use 360p, I might bump it up to 480p soon...
Flamers
I always use 360 takes too long to upload with the others.
I will start using 1080p when I get my uni 50MB/s connection back... :P

I live too far out in the countryside to get that, there was a petition to get it put in where I live and we needed 10,000 people in the area to sign it and only 1,000 did.
Same, I'm sitting here with an 8Mb/s line which is the fastest we can get.. Sucks..

I only have 2 meg broadband.
I'm thinking about starting a new game on FM11, I fancy giving it a go with the team I support (Tottenham), I haven't managed them since an early manager game on the PSone.
I would prefer to start in the future rather than the present, just trying to decide how long to holiday the game for, between 10 or 20 years?
20 years into the future would be pretty cool to read.
I've got a problem with my lower league Russian side Dinamo Bryansk, by half time my players are at 55% condition.. I've reduced the workload in training from a medium workload schedule all the way down to a low one, it does help a little bit. Thing is when I use low workload in training I get lots and lots of injuries, 11 in 6 games. Help?
Thanks.
So far I have progressed through 11 seasons and had a quick look around and there are some interesting developments in terms of teams success or lack of it, also some very interesting manager appointments.
Unfortunately Spurs haven't claimed many trophies, Redknapp retired in 2013 and was replaced by Mick McCarthy, they have had 2 more managers since but neither are big names or ex star players.
One club have progressed in a major way and I was surprised to see who their current manager is but I will leave you guessing about that.![]()
How would i crop this image so i can add it to my thread? Because when i add it to my thread it has a large white box around it, as below. I originally edited it in paint, is that right or should i be using another program?
Thanks in advance
In Paint, move it to the top left hand corner then use the little white square in the bottom right hand corner to resize the rest of it. When you've got it right you shouldn't be able to see any white background at all.
Ah ha, thanks dafuge
Just wondering do people prefer to see the code table things in career threads. I feel I should do some sort of seasonal round up of my career but I am not sure if I should write it in code or just write each season and then achievements.
Me too.![]()
I use one in my opening post, not one every post. It's really your own preference but it's nice to see the history at a glance
Flamers
My career history is always on post 2 in my threads. Not sure how many people actually read them, but at least I read them myself and reflect on my career and my journey from club to club when I read it.![]()
I like to read them, because you can see at a glance where people have managed and what they have achieved.

Has anyone got any links for South American and Asian badges? I've looked around and not found anything of note. I've got 90% of Europe already.
SORTITOUTSI usually has badges for most clubs on earth. Click here
I don't like using the code tables, mainly as I'm a biff with these sort of things.
I usually provide a link to the appropriate season ending post.
I have been playing for 2 seasons in the Chinese 2nd division and ive noticed that the standard of refereeing seems very poor. I dont know if this is because either the leagues rep is very low, hence poor refereeing standards/decisions. Or just something to do with the match engine. Has anyone else noticed this? In my last save i played 4 seasons with Havant and Waterlooville, starting out in the Blue Square South and i cant say i ever noticed the same thing happening there.
I do think if you re-sign a club icon, you should get a message about it instead of them treating it like just another signing.

Just noticed the little 'tick' next to my subscribed threads. Glad they're back
.
Well, they were here earlier. Where've they gone?![]()
Inspired by a post in GD, what song best suits your save?
Atari Teenage Riot - No Success, well atm it suits it...
Are there any songs about not hitting barn doors? That would work for mine

Thinking of starting another save, a journeyman career type game once the patch is out.
Has anyone noticed much difference in speed compared to FM10? And does anyone have a similar comp to mine so I can get an idea of number of league am going to load. I have - Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.60GHz 3.59GHz, 2.00 GB Ram, Windows xp.
Maybe looking to run;
England (top4)
Italy (top3)
Norway (all) 3
Spain (all) 3
Any suggestions for DB size or setup appreciated, thanks.

I'd probably stick to four or five nations with a medium database Gundo. I'm not an expert but that's what I would think.
Maybe try holidaying a few seasons with your preferred set-up and see how it runs.
\
That's pretty much a similar spec to my laptop with the exception that I use Windows 7 and have 3 gb ram. I run all available Asian nations and am currently in my 10th season and it speeds along at quite a nice pace. As C. says though, maybe try holidaying a few seasons with your preferred set-up and see how it runs.
Is that dual core though Deisler?
Oh cheers chaps, will holiday a few seasons see how I get on.
Will db size make a huge difference in terms of speed? I know the more players loaded into a save is likely to increase processing because transfers and contract renewals etc. This set-up has about 30k players loaded at the set up screen btw.
I find leagues hit harder than players
Flamers
England (top4)
Italy (top3)
Norway (all) 3
Spain (all) 3
With the above set-up it took me 1hr, holidaying for 3 months from 1st July to 1st Oct, does that seem like a reasonable speed?
Sounds ok, it depends how fast you want to go and how many players you want
For me I like huge databases that let me scout until my heart is content but some people want a quick game. The only advice I can give you is that if you don't load enough players it gets harder in later years
Flamers
I think I'm happy with this set-up, I chose a Large db also. I don't mind processing times so much really, as I'm quite patient.
Thanks for your advice Flamers.![]()
No problemGood luck in your save!

How do i edit the title of my thread? Sorry for being dumb![]()
You ask daf

Ahhh..I thought i was missing something.
Thanks Flamers
Going to delay the start of my new career save now until March when I get my new laptop, It'll give me more time to put into my Gundo's challenge save anyway.![]()
Just a quick question for you guys...
...I was wondering how many of you would be interested in an online clan game should one be set up?
Clan games are good if you can get in a strong clan that has regular players and players that you can trust won't cheat.
Unless you like cheating of course, but if I found out somebody cheated in a clan I played in either them or I would leave.

I had a fun clan game with a good group back on FM07 but when FM08 came around, we had some new faces in the group who were pretty unreliable and it wasn't as much fun... I haven't got the time right now but I'd be up for it over the summer. Could be a good way to fill the gap between my career running its course and FM12![]()
I liked playing on line if that is what a clan game is but my internet is crap and with more than two people it was really slow.
So, how many are managing some FM on Valentine's Day?
Being single = solid FM session.![]()
Being at a different uni to your girlfriend = FM

I'm playing tonight but I'm going out with the other half tomorrow night. Can't go tonight due to her work commitments.

I am thinking of doing a save starting in 2111 or 2100. I have holidayed to these dates, the thing is the opening post will have a history of the game and may appear to be a bit story like to start with. Would there be any interest in following a career that starts 100 years after the start of FM11 or will the lack of any real players and teams in completely different leagues put people off?
No, I like it. If anything it's more interesting as we don't know who you will sign!
Go for it AcidBurn I would read it.
Is it a continental dominance save or a one nation save?
One nation, I was holidaying to see how far into the future I can go on my flashy new PC and I saw Sunderland in league two in 2100 having not been in the EPL since 2028 thought it might make a good save. On another note Gillingham just won the EPL in 2111 but if I start it will be 11 years earlier.
Continental dominance is dead for the moment due to losing the stuff on my PC, when the new patch is out I expect I will start again.
I say go for it as well.
How long did it take you holiday the game that far?
It took 2 days and 8 hours roughly. I just ran fm in the background while I was on the net or playing the xbox. Only loaded three countries as well it is still doing a season in around 40 minutes in 2113.
Is it still running okay AB? Hasn't it slowed down massively!
Do you think you can get another 100 years out of it!![]()
------------wants to see an AB thread
Hasn't really slowed that much at all my new PC is extremely fast. I think by this time next week I could get to 2200, if it would be playable from that date on is another question.
Once the patch is out I will be posting a proper continental dominance thread, just can't get into a save enough to do a career thread at the moment. Good to hear you are looking forward to it lol.
Having real trouble getting into a save atm.
I know how you feel, I haven't been able to get into a game for awhile now I am hoping the new patch will help me get into a proper save. My Sunderland save feels ruined due to my success being down to Darren Bent and for some reason my dislike of him in real life is putting me off continuing the save.
diesler why dont you try Swansea and try to adpot the way they play. I enjoyed it a lot.
I started my game up last night and will hopefully have the thread up and running by tonight. Can't wait to get stuck into a proper save just hope the reputation thing is fixed so I can actually leave New Zealand at some point.
yeh ive nearly done my first season with bohemians so hopefully ahve it written later
Off topic, but I wonder how drunk deadfncat is right now.![]()
What's happened to Jackripper. How come he is banned?![]()
and im back with a short Quick game thread![]()
Daf. Is there anyway i can get that ban lifted as what i said was deemed as a joke and okay might have been stupid but obviously i dont want to be banned. Is there anyway of getting it lifted? If not then i guess il just stay away from the forums. I tried using the contact part of the site but got no reply what so ever cheers
Jackrippe
ok mate il send you it now and yeh im not intending on using this alias account either it was cos i wasnt getitng a repsonse thats all
Does anyone think there would be any interest in a career taking place on an older version of Football Manager?
To come straight to the point, my laptop is getting on and, unfortunately, the old girl struggles to run many leagues on FM10 or 11.![]()
I was actually considering going backwards to an older FM in order to be able to run more leagues and thus have a journeyman game. I'm not sure if people in here would be interested in reading a career on an old version of FM though?
Would there be a following interest in player career games? Like you're a player in the game and I'm just following their progress over (a hopefully) long time?
I can't get into a new save atm so maybe I'll think of a new approach to a career in the Careers Forum. I remember Raware did one of these but it didn't really last...
Cheers for your response AB.
Another question for you guys - should we have a 'hall of fame'?
I've just been reading the Dugout forum and they have a sort of archive for 'legendary' saves. Occasionally, they have a vote and people nominate their favourite careers (but they can't nominate their own). Basically, if one career receives a nomination, then others have their say and if everyone agrees that it captured the imagination of those reading, it is moved into their archive section. What they do on the Dugout is to have periodic voting (e.g. rounds of nominations) to keep it going.
I kind of like this idea. It would be good for new people coming on to the forum who want to read some of the great old stories and it would show what makes a good career save and career thread. It would also keep some of the community's best stories alive. I quite like the bit about others nominating stories and that you wouldn't be allowed to nominate your own, as it kind of makes it a celebration of each others' careers rather than anyone showing off etc.
Do you think maybe we should have a sub-forum 'hall of fame' for this kind of thing? What do people think?

If we can't have a sub forum have at least a sticky!
