Right, we’re over halfway through the season. No more updates now until June.

Here are the appearance statistics so far (including subs appearances):

    34 – Cardio Vascular
    30 – Bob McBob
    29 – Robert Jones, Samuel
    27 – Magnus Vestergaard
    26 – Kanyeezy
    25 – Corporal Punishment
24 – Jack Browne, Liam Ferguson
23 – Robert Dawson, Fred Brookes
22 – Ed Hayes (21 West Ham, 1 Real Madrid)
    17 – Ben Cee
    10 – Sirus Lannock
    8 – Wobill
    4 – Juan Touche

In the transfer window, Ed Hayes moved to Real Madrid for £26.5m. With the Spanish league not loaded, this could impact on his appearances as he will be limited to Champions League only. However, he has enough appearances in his time at West Ham so providing he was playing well, he should be OK. Juan Touche has really struggled to break into the Tottenham team this season with 1 start and 3 subs appearances. He needs at least two more to reach the minimum needed and should get them at some point but this lack of appearances must worry him. The Villa players appearances are boosted by Intertoto Cup and long runs in the UEFA and League Cups.

Elimination will be determined by the worst performing player. I do not know who this is at the moment (I am avoiding it to surprise myself) but it would be a surprise to see an Aston Villa or Tottenham player automatically eliminated if they have made any number of appearances due to their cup runs and league form.

We are guaranteed a team bonus in the League Cup: Aston Villa and Tottenham meet in the final in March. The winning team’s players will receive attribute boosts at the end of the season should they survive. All four teams are still in the FA Cup although each needs a replay (all home) to progress to Round 5 and Everton and Villa continue to progress in the UEFA Cup as well.

There have been no major injuries so far and hopefully this will remain the case.

The game is holidaying towards the end as I am typing. As usual, I have been ignoring the average ratings as much as I can to surprise myself as well. End of season update due some time soon.

Why on earth are people voting for Mourinho as best manager?!!!

Season 1 with Fulham - lowest of four
Season 2 with Liverpool - no title, no CL win
Season 3 with West Ham - fighting against relegation
AND one of his players was worst in Season 1 and 2!

McCarthy has all five still in. Hughes' teams have done excellent until Season 3. Keegan's Newcastle and Villa sides have done really well in every season. I don't get it at all!!!

Holidaying to end of season, April 12th just going by. I know who won League Cup - saw it flash up when I checked status of holidaying. Doh. Let's have some predictions:

Who will win League Cup? Spurs or Villa

Who will go furthest in FA Cup out of our four teams?

    Who will finish highest?

    Who will be eliminated automatically?

Four players remaining. As it stands: Liam Ferguson is out of the FMX-Factor 2009 and right now would probably take a place in the CSE vote. There are four players remaining to update on - will there be a late change in the elimination race?

So in Season 3, there is one player remaining.

As it stands: Mark Hughes' striker Liam Ferguson is automatically eliminated with a rating of 6.62 and will be hoping that Ed Hayes move to Real Madrid in the January transfer window has cost him.

Wobill (6.76) and Cardio Vascular (6.89) are now guaranteed to be involved in the CSE vote. Ben Cee will be hoping that Hayes' rating is below 6.90 to ensure his passage into Season 4 without need for a vote from the CSE members.

Corporal Punishment was the MVP of Season 2 and, despite his teams relegation in Season 3, he currently stands as Season 3's MVP as well. As long as Hayes' rating is not higher than 7.31, he will be the Season 3 MVP.

LIAM FERGUSON AUTOMATICALLY ELIMINATED FROM THE FMX-FACTOR 2009!

For the second season in succession, Everton and Mark Hughes lose a striker in the end of season elimination. Following Sergio from Season 2, Liam Ferguson joins him in semi-retirement after a poor season in which his lack of goals led to relegation from the Premiership for Everton. Thanks for taking part Liam (fergy_safc) and I hope you will continue to follow.

It will be Wobill, Cardio Vascular and Ben Cee in the CSE vote. Details to follow.

Congratulations to Corporal Punishment - MVP for a second successive season.

Playing more doesn't mean you are immune from elimination though does it?

Your player played more but the team went down - partly your players fault for not scoring enough goals. Your rating was lowest so you're eliminated. Sorry dood.

Sad to see another Hughes player go, though I guess in a relegated team that was likely. Pleased with the Corporal's performance but how he managed to be MVP at DC in a team that went down is a mystery to me. Comiserations fergy.

    BONUSES AND REWARDS

    - The player ranked #1 in the season will receive a CA/PA increase of +5 and will be rewarded with 10 attribute points to spend as they like;

Corporal Punishment is the Season 3 MVP for the second successive season and is rewarded with 10 bonus attribute points to spend as he wishes as well as a CA/PA increase of 5.

    - The player ranked best for their manager will be entitled to choose which team their manager and fellow FMX-Factor team-mates can join for the second season, i.e. one for Mourinho, one for Hughes, one for Keegan and one for McCarthy.

Corporal Punishment is Mark Hughes’ best player and will choose the team for Season 4 with his choice taking first priority.

Samuel was the second best player and was Mick McCarthy’s best player so he chooses for Super Mick’s team and players for Season 4.

Bob McBob was the best player for Kevin Keegan at Villa and chooses for the ‘Keeganites’ in Season 4 after Hughes’ and McCarthy.

The final manager allocated a club will be Jose Mourinho and it is Ed Hayes who receives that honour despite desertion to Real Madrid in Season 3!

    - When a player plays for their U21 team for the first time, they will receive +2 attribute points.

No players made U21 international debuts in Season 3.

    - When a player plays for their international team for the first time, they will receive +5 attribute points.

Fred Brookes played his first full international match during Season 3 and receives 5 bonus attribute points to spend at the end of the season.

Tottenham (FA Cup) and Aston Villa (League Cup) are each allocated 5 attribute boost points for each of their players remaining after the CSE vote.

    - Premier/Champions League winners get +10 attribute points regardless of appearances/rating.

None of our teams won these competitions.

    - Goalkeepers get +1 attribute point for every two clean sheets they keep.

Wobill = 7 clean sheets = 3 bonus attribute points.

    - Defenders get +1 attribute point for every 3% of tackles successfuly made above 60% by end of season - therefore 63%=1, 66%=2 etc ...

Cardio Vascular = 71% of tackles successful = 3 bonus attribute points.
Corporal Punishment = 79% of tackles successful = 6 bonus attribute points.
Robert Jones = 71% of tackles successful = 3 bonus attribute points.
Ben Cee = 71% of tackles successful = 3 bonus attribute points.
Juan Touche = 79% of tackles successful = 6 bonus attribute points.
Samuel = 78% of tackles successful = 6 bonus attribute points.

Ed Hayes = 11 assists = 11 bonus attribute points.
Magnus Vestergaard = 8 assists = 8 bonus attribute points.
Robert Dawson = 10 assists = 10 bonus attribute points.
Bob McBob = 17 assists = 17 bonus attribute points.
    Kanyeezy = 9 assists = 9 bonus attribute points.

    - Attackers get +1 attribute point for every two goals they score.

    REMEMBER ...

Season 4 is a themed season: based on The Script's smash hit 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' the aim is to be the man who can't be moved from the first team. As always, the worst player will be automatically eliminated but the three danger zone players will be determined by the number of total appearances made. The lowest three - danger zone.

    Choose your team carefully:

    - Do you need a team in Europe?

    - Do you need a easier team to break into?

    - Think about your position?

    - Will your team manage cup runs?

For the players who are choosing, this may be the time to be selfish when choosing. Think of your team-mates needs by all means but a lack of a selfish attitude could prove costly!

As for next season, I'm not sure. I don't think Everton are likely to do so poorly again next season, and we know we can get plenty of appearances there with potential for a cup run, but I'm partial to a change of scenery just to mix things up a bit. Maybe nick one of Villa or Spurs as they've done so well for the other teams this season. What are your thoughts, guys?

Firstly, Jose Mourinho has become a selling manager. The shock! So far only two players have been sold during the winter transfer window in three seasons and both were from Mourinho-managed teams.

Secondly, I currently enjoy a love-hate relationship with my agent. I specifically told him I did not want any moves, but he whisked me off to Madrid nevertheless. Although my grounds for firing him kind of vanished when my stint with Los Blancos had actually improved my average rating. 11 assists with them also does not hurt.

(Question here: When tallying bonus attribute points from goals/assists/tackles of a player that had played for two clubs in a season, only his stats gained during the time spent with his new club matters right? So basically for myself, only the 11 assists made in the Real Madrid shirt count and those previously made in West Ham's are void right?)

Thirdly, I'm turning into Michael Ballack here with my second Champion's League loser's medal.

10 votes cast so far including Cardio Vascular and Ben Cee themselves. pnefc22 needs to even it up by having his vote otherwise Wobill is at a disadvantage.

All players have received votes so far: one has 5, one has 3 and another has 2. But who has what and why?

Ah I'm really sorry, GCB! Now that you said you had, I went back to see the final stats screenshot again and indeed 11 is the total at both clubs as I had only made 8 assists in Real Madrid. For some reason, I swear I had seen 11 assists from 17 appearances at Real Madrid the first time round but it must have been my mind playing tricks on me.

P.S. My cold probably contributed to this silly gaffe of mine as well. Off to bed now to try and sleep that off, as well as the horror show at the Emirates today.

Cheers. However you are third manager/team to choose so you will be Villa unless the other two players decide on Villa as their team for Hughes or McCarthy.

For those interested, Ediocy has currently chosen Middlesbrough for Mourinho's players at the moment although this is also subject to change if any of the others decide on Boro.
