    The Background

    Rangers and celtic have today completed there transfer to the english league. The only problem is they have to start at the lowest league possible. There bank balances have been wiped and will not compete in the champiopns league. There youth and training are set to 1 and have no youth academy. There reputation is 1000. The plus side is that staff and players will remain. How long will it take you to rise to the top?

    The Aim

    To take rangers or celtic from the Blue Square N/S to Premier League and Champions League glory.

    The Rules

    Load a game with the English and Scottish leagues only, with the Blue Square N/S selected, a large database (or smaller if preferred) and the attribute masking and the transfer boxes ticked. No additional players from any nation should be loaded. It should look like this.

    http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/987/leaguesvz5.jpg

    Add a new manager, the options are up to you but 'past experience' must be set to the lowest possible.
    You Can Choose Any Nationality You Want.

    It is now up to you to manage this club all the way to the Premier League title and UEFA Champions League crown.

    If you are sacked you must then wait to the end of the season to retake over the club. You must then again start with the lowest past experiance.

    Can You Complete The Challenge?

    (This is based on the dafuge challenge)

    You also have to post your manager profile at the start and give reguarly updates. You may not use fmm or any sort of save game editor or scout program

    No, it isn't. I believe it was PM7 himself who did this a while back on FMS. And stop using a capital letter at the beginning of each word. It's even more annoying than text speak.

    The Old Firm are two hugely supported clubs, surely common sense would say that pretty much anything that can be done with them has been at some point.

    And I find capital letters at the start of each word more annoying than text speak. That's how that works.

    I could understand the annoyance if someone had gone into your forum and started a thread that was blatantly purposefully ripping off someone else's idea that was clearly visible, but people in here are probably oblivious to what happened in FM Stories years ago. I know I am.

    To be honest, if they are criticising you on your use of the English language you are not doing yourself any favours by arguing back.

    No but they say they are willing to leave to help the club clear debts.

    I have had to sell Ferguson and Hemdani for 75k each just to keep me aflot which i wasnt very happy about

    I will try this with the new signings (and sellings) are done, if you update it, of course!

    Koki Mizuno -> Celtic
    Geogios Samaras -> Celtic (loan)
    Ben Hutchinson -> Celtic (pre-contract - summer 2008)
    Teddy Bjarnason - Celtic -> Lyn Oslo

    Hope that helps, Mizuno has the number 29 too, supposedly.

    I mad a db for myself in FM07 with Gers and celtic in League Two.

    Unfortunately, when my computers hard drive was unexpectedly wiped, I lost both the savegame and the screenshots. I didn't do that well to be honest, all my best players left after a a year or two.

    Hi Murray

    I am giving it a go as Rangers manager to make it a little harder I have reduced both Celtic and rangers attendance to 10,000 this will avoid lots of money coming in. Any idea how to get out of debt, if the original staff and players stay for at least a season the club will be in so much debt due to their wages bill.http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/3...managerst5.jpg

    Reducing the attendance makes it harder,but does it not take away from the realism?If Celtic and rangers did ever go into england, their attendances would not just suddenly drop to 10,000.Can you imagine the scramble for tickets when Celtic can sell out every math???

    Are there any problems that arise when playing the database e.g. with expectations?
    And are the youth and reserve teams now working?

    you should put the files in the 'db' section which can be found in your 'My Documents' 'Sports Interactive' Folder.

    Although, hasn't this been dead for 2 months?

    This has been kind of interesting, but very frustrating at the same time.

    The realism is taken out of it for me by the fact that suddenly Ibrox only holds 1000 and has no youth academy or reserve league.

    I managed to hold on to a few players, but the chairman sold most of the squad for silly money. I set myself on a good footing by actively selling most of my good players for realistic money in the first transfer window.

    season 1 - won BSN by 12 points from Celtic scoring 223 goals and conceding 12!!! Alaso won FA Vase and setanta shield.

    Season 2 - won BSP by a distance scoring 132 conceding 34.

    Season 3 - I'm now really struggling to sign any decent players despite having a transfer fund of 5M+ I'm top of the league by a couple of points, but am really struggling away from home. I cant even get any half decent players to sign at the end of their contracts from the likes of Bournemouth. I'm shipping goals for fun and even defenders like Ryan Garry are truning down contract offers of 7.5K per week when their current deals are ony for £400.

    It's the lack of training & youth facilities that are killing the game.

    These issues have ruined it a little for me. Dont mind the concept of starting in lowest leagues by why on earth would the old firm lose their support & facilities if they transfered to england!!
