Why aren't you happy with it?
I've started a new game on the 9.3 patch - when it goes to a match it goes straight to the 2d tv view - I've only got the commentary selected (I only want to watch the commentary!) - so why is going straight to this?
Sorry - ignore this - I hadn't selected it seeing as it was a new game - my bad!

yep i downloaded from steam
Im having a small superficial problem, ill try posting some pictures when i can. But basically real players have had their pictures removed and certain regens are missing their faces and you just see a crop of hair
Think I may know what my problem is. When I go -C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Sports Interactive, I'm unable to delete the temporary folder in order to give me a complete reinstallation- it says that it is corrupt and unreadable, what can I do?
"Error 0x80070091: The directory is not empty" by the way.
Irons can you tell me what the size of your patch file is please?
I'm not sure why it won't open and over 100 test machines of varying specs haven't had this problem. It may be an idea to try it without any User Account Control on (you can switch it back on afterwards) just incase that's interfering, it shouldn't but you never know.
Sorry to hear your problems Tiger.
Okay you've tried re-installing and tried deleting the folder causing problems but Vista is stopping you.
After uninstalling did you reboot your machine? May be worth trying that and then trying to delete the folder.
If this works let me know, if not report this in the bugs forum and attach a picture of the crash dump when it comes up (a copy/paste of the contents would be good as well) and I will get someone to look into it.
Hi I hope I'm talking to the right person here.
I have football manager 2009 (not live) and I am unable to load a previously saved game for some reason? Do you have any solutions?
Thanks
Grr I have been trying to download the patch since 5pm! I am using steam but it gets to about 50 0dd percent the restarts!! very annoying!!!! Any suggestions?
just started uploading a new game with the new patch and half way through loading this popped up .......
Application Error-
A serious error was encountered and the application will close. An error file has been generated in - DAVE-PC/C:/Users/Dave/Documents/SportsInteractive/footballmanager2009/crashdumps....
any help!!?
i got this?
Maybe not a bug a little annoying - I used Steam only to patch the game, but I ran it using a direct shortcut to the fm.exe (no that one Steam uses to create). Now after installation of 9.3.0 the OS tells mi that Wlanapi.dll is missing and fm.exe had failed to run - I found that dll on the net and placed it in FM folder, but it couldn't find another dll related to Windows WiFi Zero Configuration (I forgot the name). When I press OK in that error window the game runs normally. It's a little weird because there is no error when running the game using Steam. Uninstalling the game, Steam, re-installation and activation with uniloc doesn't help. I'm using Windows Server 2008 x64 and have no WiFi cards.
It doesn't seem to have any affect on the game so don't worrybut I wonder if any of you SI-guys could tell why it's happening.
Cheers

What does this mean?
Hey Guys,
Ive just gone to download it via bittorrent and i click on the pc link. it goes onto the page but nothing happens, just a blank page.
What do i do???
137,632 kb is the file size of mine.
DONT DOWNLOAD FROM RAPIDSHARE.DE, most downloads corrupts
here is rapidshare.com link, you should add this into main post.
http://rapidshare.com/files/202931948/fm2009_930-pc.rar
Hey.
After downloading the patch to my mac (!) and installing it correctly, everything seems to work. However when i start up the game it asks for the DVD. However i have bought it over the internet, and does thus not have any dvd. I have tried launching both my usual shortcut, and launching the program through applications/Sports interactive/Fm2009/, but it says the same thing.
Plz help
/Avanti
Oh sorry, I meant to answer you.
Can you try something for me?
Do you play in windowed mode? If not go into windowed mode through preferences (check text) and in there resize the window, see if it makes any difference, just click on the bottom right edge and move size the window that way.
I'm not sure what's causing this but if this sorts it out it may give us something to go on.
I dont know if anyone else is had this problem or is it a concidence that i have had 7 in juries in a week?
and another one!
FGS its another one. Is anyone else having this problem?

Who did you buy the software with Avanti?
The digital version shouldn't be asking you for the dvd at all.
Edit:
I think I know what you may have done. Did you get the standard mac patch? If you have a digital version you need the eSellerate patch not the normal one.
The eSellerate patch is here:
- FM 2009 v9.3.0 - Mac (eSellerate)
Download and install that and give it a go, if it doesn't work you will have to uninstall the game completely and start again (eSellerate should keep your purchase details for re-activation).

I bought it from Sigames.com. At least thats what my mail says. "Thank you for purchasing from sports interactive".
But i have been playing it since 9.1 and through 9.2 without any problems. The problem first arised when i upgraded to 9.3. It has never asked for the DVD before now.
EDIT: Aaah. Maybe thats why. Didnt know there was a digital patch. Ill give it a try.
Advice needed from Steve Cox or Chris Ritchie. Network problem.
My mate hosted a game with the 9.2 patch and I joined him no problems at all. Then both our games were updated to 9.3 through Steam. I tried to join in the same game but with no success. I hosted a new game just to see if he can join me and he succeeded.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Personally, I think rapidshare are a bunch of money-grabbing scammers
rapidshare.de sucks!
I also got the corrupt file, I'll give that .rar from rapidshare.com a try though the speed is only 45Kb/s =/
Torrent isn't very fast, so everyone who's already downloaded could do everyone else a favor and download the .torrent, rename the installer (if the name is different from the torrent one) and SEED to help. If there's enough seeders, the download should be much faster than most free file host servers.
Whenever there's enough interest in a file, it's the best way to share.
No one gunna answer my question then?
everytime i play a game, it goes to the match screen. before this patch i would simply exit tv view. go onto overview, and every game i start it would be back in the overview. now it goes back into the match and i dont want it too. any help
i tried to advertise for a new scout but that option wasn't on the list of jobs. not a big deal but still.
Does anyone had problems with 3D? After install the new patch, my FM just close when I'll start some game.
Steve and Chris please don't ignore my post (no.146).
Awaiting solution if you can.
I'm afraid that I don't really know very much about network games. Has your friend changed any firewall settings or anything?
I have a slight problem the skin seems to have changed I updated through Steam.
I loaded the skin from the Fm08 version and that works.
Here is a screenshot of the Fm09 skin
Can something be done about that? Its fine playing it with the 08 version aswell tho, so its just a slight problem.
using steam...downloaded wsm patch...open game and screen freezes on the status screen...cursor still moves, but I can't advance to a new screen...all that shows is the power usage graph...which is new, right? I don't recall seeing that in 9.2. Anyways, is anyone else experiencing anything similar? Is this a Steam problem or an SI/patch problem? Thanks...dcc

and then it says this unlock key is already active, to purchase another unlock key visit www.sigames.com
downloaded patch on bit torrent 6.1.1 it says 100 percent complete ...how do i know move it to the files and open it up so its playable.
many thanks.
andy
It's not a problem it's a feature
Again activation people make sure you download the correct patch for your version of the game - it's seperate for Steam bought, store bought and otherwise downloaded (eg, eSellerate) - if you install the wrong one you may have to reinstall the game to get it working again.
Andy, if you browse to the download folder for BT (should be in 'options' or 'preferences' inside BT) you can then run the downloaded patch file![]()
If you get the white text do this:
- Go to preferences
- Go to Display Options
- Tick always reload skin on confirm and untick use skin cache
- Reselect FM2009 skin (I prefer FM2009 right)
Should now be fixed.
No problem ahmufcwafc, yes I play full-screen window mode.
Tried what you suggested, still has no effect on the fuzzy text. It did for a split second go back to normal clear text but instantly zoomed in and went fuzzy again.
Nice to know it isn't just me with the problem, thought I was the only one.![]()
JustinJJ: I tried that but I still get the white text, Ill just use the Fm08 skin for now.
Try this HoPeY?
Other XML Errors
First of all you need to turn on hidden files and folders. Go to My Computer and at the top select 'Tools' the 'Folder Options'. The go to the 'View' tab and select 'Show hidden files and folders'
Delete the following folder:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\settings
Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\settings
This may solve some issues regarding the XML Errors
You never know!
Has any speed test for the game processing time or the likes been conducted for 9.3.0?
i.e. Shall we expect the game to run faster now?
HuwFlet
Not sure what XML errors has to do with it always thought XML was coding! Anyway I tried it, still fuzzy.![]()
Hello I've got an in-game issue with the patch. The text for my game has turned white and it makes it hard to see it. Do you know how I can get the text back to black?.(Ive tried reloading the skin but this hasnt worked)

Hey man could you give us the exact changes you made to the DB so we can see if this has caused the problem.
It would also be helpful if you could upload the DB to the FTP so we can take a look and see what the problem is. Information on how to upload to the FTP can be found here http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=54927
Cheers
Glad it did!
For anyone having problems with being asked for codes again could you please try following the steps on this thread:
http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=65715
It's a problem with soft anchor which was happening previously and this was the fix they gave us.
If you're still having problems after this let me know in here.
Cheers.
Hi HoPeY
Could you boot up your game, grab a screenshot (PNG would be great) and then post it here or upload it to our FTP and let me know what it's called please?
Graphics guys are going to take a look at it.
FTP details:

See if that sorts it out for you.
Couple of questions.
1: What is the size of the file for your patch? If you right click it and choose preferences it will tell you.
2: Are you installing on an 'administratior' or normal user? If you're a normal user you may need to be an admin but that shouldn't stop the patch at that point.
3: Restart your machine, try to run the patcher again.
1. 233 MB (245.028.358 bytes)
2. im the only user, and the only account on my pc has administrator privilege
3. already done before writing here, i have not explained all because my english is poor, but i called it a "weird" thing because it happens after patching correctly a good amount of files.

hi steve
ive got the same problem with the fuzzy text, im running the new patch and have tried everything recommened on here with no result.
my resolution is 1680x1050, im running xp and have a Radeon x1950 PRO graphics card.
heres a screen print of the problem, it seems the text on the left hand side of the screen is fuzzy and the text on the right hand side is fine.
thanks
I have some for you.
In the one below its the standard windowed size and pretty much all the txt is slightly blured almost like its zoomed in and shouldnt be.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...per/fmblur.jpg
In this one I made it as small as possible and some of the txt became clear again but some of it still isnt.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...er/fmblur2.jpg
During resizing the image does become clear for a moment but then simply changes back again, during that process the screen does appear to zoom in somewhat as the load, save buttons etc become larger than normal it would seem.
Unfortunately screenshots are never very clear but the explaination should help.

Those finding that Steam doesn't automatically update FM2009, try just running the game. Steam should update it at that point. This is what I experienced.
Okay that's around the right size for the file.
Did you try rebooting and then running the patch again?
The only other thing I can suggest is to uninstall the game (copy your saved games), install again and then try to patch again.
If you have the demo installed at all make sure you uninstall that too.
It could still be a corrupt download but I don't want to advise you to download the file again if there is no need.
Yeh I registered for imageshack now, photobucket limits the images too much, anyway hope they can fix it soon since its very hard to stand the blur for a long time.
It's hard to see any blurring on those screenshots. Could you try to capture them as PNG's rather than JPG's please? That should make it a bit easier to see.
Also there's not a lot of text on that screen, can you go to a screen where there's more text so there's more to see?
I do have another screenshot now and am asking the coders about it.
Still no text using the default FM09 skin:
