Once i've downloaded the demo, i'll get going on a Wycombe Wanderers page![]()
I'll put up the Reading thread if no one else has done it.
God man stig, can't do it myself right now so I'd appreciate it if you could![]()
Done. Any more that we get permission for, I'll put them up if someone else doesn't beforehand.
Jammy - I think you said about waiting in the GTPG thread whilst people are changing their threads, remember they can be edited on the FM wiki so it wouldn't be a problem if we added them now.
It wouldn't be a problem now, but I think if we were to continually bump up the thread in GPTG for the next few months, we'd only start to get on people's nerves. As well as that, it's much easier to add the threads to the site when they're finished.
We should leave it for now and come back when most of the threads are done IMO.
I've been very, very busy with coursework for my GCSE's and other personal stuff recently, i've hardly had time to think about FM recently tbh!
I'll be doing the odd article from now on, but i might not be getting FM10, so i probably won't be able to contribute much this year (Not that i did much for FM09 tbf)
Fair enough! Is it that you don't like this year's FM or are you just too busy?
I think everyone has a busy year this year - that's what we get for having 3 out of the 4 regulars still at school...
Am I the only one who isn't then?
Well Alan, Hamilton and I all are (Alan year 12?, Hamilton not sure, I'm year 11) so yes, you are![]()
Didn't know that. Makes me feel old![]()
You're pretty much an OAP tbh.
Just for you <3
![]()
What's year 12? I'm in whatever the last year of school is over in England is.
IIRC if I was living in the UK I'd be in the year 3 years ahead of GCSE year, whatever that is - if that makes any sense![]()
No need Jammy.
Alan - Year 12 is the year after GCSEs. It is the first year of A-Levels. Usually Year 12s are 16 or 17.
I'm 17 and actually it was two years ago that I did the Irish GCSE's. That sounds about right.
Anyway... this wiki site..I'll post up the Lazio guide now in a few mins.
Yep, that's it
Good idea Alan![]()
Well, you edit every once in a while, and you're one of the most frequent editors. Which is a shame really, we could do with a few more regulars on the site...
I'll wait to update the team guides until we have permission for the FM10 guides. Also i'll keep an excel spreadsheet if you want so we have a definitive list of which team guides we have on the site.
Sounds good Stig
Want me to ask the mods if it's alright to make a new thread in GPTG about FM10 threads?
Just wrote up my first FM10 player profile![]()
Is it okay if I leave you two in charge of the club guides for FM10? I really don't know what I'm doing with regards layout of club pages, plus I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands. Think it's best if I just stay out of it altogether.
If anyone could add my Lazio page for me it'd be appreciated![]()
Yep, that's fine.![]()
Fine by me too.
Thanks stig
I just added the infobox to the Lazio page and removed the gptg disclaimer - technically it's in violation of our house rules so I thought it'd be a bit hypocritical to leave it in
Adding Disclaimers
You may have noticed that there is a box at the end of certain pages giving credit to people who have given us permission to use/have written up content and passed it on to us for our own use on the site. The purpose of these disclaimers are to give credit to those who we have posted up pages for. It is not necessary to add one for yourself to your if you are a member of this site. The history already shows who originally created the page so there is no need. Disclaimers that are posted up by yourself, for yourself will be deleted at the admins' discretion.
I apologise for not starting on my Wycombe guide yet, i've had millions of pieces of homework to do and packing etc. for a battlefields trip that starts on Friday![]()
I'll try and get it up over half term, but no promises as it's unreliable me!![]()
Plus, i'll be tired from my trip to France & Belgium, we leave at 4:15 AM on Friday FFS
![]()
Ah right, forgot about that. I don't really care if I get credit or not so I'll do nothing to it.
Freagle's account activated btw.
Edit: 3900th post.
Been redoing the main page, it was all a bit out of date now FM10 is released.
Selected article has also been changed, however this will be changed again in 5 days (for Novembers one) which is why I chose one which probably won't generate much interest. No point having a very popular one just for 5 days. (it's 'Bugs' now fwiw)
Also, I've removed the links to the FMH and Fansites category - there wasn't enough in either of them to warrant them being on the main page imo.

to both of those things
The countdown looked strange, agreed. I tried to get the background to that weird green that most of it is (could we change this to a different, more FMy colour?) but I couldn't find how, andknew I'd mess it up. But it did look a bit strange anyway, agreed.
The Category thing wasn't centered because if it was, it took it half under the image and looked dodgy. But now the countdown has gone, it's better in the middle. It was only put on the right because of the countdown
I've bolded the 'podcasts', 'blogs' and 'Q&A Sessions', do you think it looks alright? I'm not sure about it, I don't think it's noticeable enough to make it worthwhile, it could do with having 'podcasts', 'blogs' and 'Q&A Sessions' as the first words on each point but that would make it read badly imo.
Oh, and under the logo, could we add a 'SI Affiliate' badge like most (or most that I've seen) other SI affiliates have? If the footballmanagerwiki logo moved up, with the SI Affiliate underneath it, I think it'd look alright.
Agreed, I don't like the bold text either. What I think you should do is remove the bold text that you just put in and make the links to pages bold.
If you can find the SI affiliate logo, I'll try and have it added. I tried looking for it once, but couldn't find anything.
I've reworded it, so the points start with what they are going to discuss.
Do you think it looks a bit too robotic and unnatural? If so, I'll change it back.
This section could use a little more clarityNew coaches atributes needed for 7 star training
ddm = determination + discipline + motivating
strength, aerobics
fit * 9 + ddm * 2 >= 270 -> 7 >= 240 -> 6 >= 210 -> 5
etc .....
eg
or even in a small table based format, just to make it more readable & understandable at a quick glanceCode:Strength or Aerobics Fitness*9 + ddm*2 210+ = 5 240+ = 6 270+ = 7
I'd planned more for the middle, but that looks like a better idea. I'd thought like below;
but it looks odd. If we were a FML affiliate too it'd look better with two underneath the main badge, but not with just one. Something like this then;
?
Second one looks good imo.
Agree with you Jammy.
That's from the training page, isn't it? I'll see if I can change things around in a bit
I don't like either one if I'm being honest. I think the affiliate logo should be made a good bit smaller. If it still doesn't look great after that, I think we should leave it out of the top left hand corner of the page and work it into the 'why have we set this up' box.
http://footballmanagerwiki.co.uk/ind...title=Training
Do you think it looks any better now? I found it difficult to figure it out myself so I might have made a mess of it in places.
That looks a lot better Alan, however it's quite lengthy so maybe we could have it all on a separate page? When we have the FM10 spec on there too, it'll be an amazingly long page.
So maybe we should have both FM09 and FM10 on separate pages, or have FM10 on the main Training page then FM09 on its own page?
It's not that long now I don't think. Maybe make separate pages if/when we get a FM10 guide done?
Yeah, that's what I said - but do you think it'd be best to;
- Have them all on one page
- Have a Training page, FM10 Spec page, FM09 Spec page
or
- Have a training page that has FM10 spec on it, and a FM09 Spec page.
Yeah, sounds good to me![]()
Which one though?
I think someone needs an early night![]()
You're confusing me - I thought you somehow wanted all of those pages to be made
They all sound more or less the same to me. Go with whatever one you think is best.
Okay then, imo either
- Have seperate pages for Training/FM10 Specs/FM09 specs
or
- Have Training + FM10 Specs/FM09 Spec pages.
We'll try the latter when the FM10 specs are out - I reckon it'll be fine but it depends how long they are.
Just to let you guys know, I am back.......same excuses as others (lots of work etc.)
I also have permission from Freagle and Spike to use their transfer and wage budget guides for each league, which I will upload/create tomorrow.
That's good![]()
Alan, the FAQ's page looks good - is there anything that I could help you with with it?
Got this week off for half term, so will be able to do a bit more.
Thanks. The plan is to have anything and everything in that page in condensed form if you know what I mean, so if there's anything you can think of, just throw it in there.
Yeah, so basically a summary of the site?
Once it's done, I reckon we should put it on the sidebar?
Pretty much, excluding club guides and the like of course.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to add it to the sidebar when it's done![]()
K, I'll add it when I think of any.
Made a 'Contracts' page, is there anything I could add to it?
Looks good, and can't think of anything else to add to it
Any idea what FAQs I should add?
I'm not sure what else should go in tbh - guess we should just develop it as we think of things in the future...
I'll redo the Empoli page once I pick up FM10
Also, on looking, the Empoli badge and info is wrong. It's now the Dynamo Kiev badge and info
He does .
Has the FM10 skins page been done yet? If not I'll get started on it now. I'll also update the FMRTE thread.
Nope, hasn't been done. There aren't any noticeable skins yet are there?
Why did you remove the Specs bit on the FM10 page?
You had put it in the middle of the new features section, I thought that you included it by accident..
i quote from the fm wiki site:
'They are the Premier League's reigning champions, and have won England's top division 17 times, one short of Liverpool's record of 18 league titles'
im quite sure its 18-a-piece right now
Stig, I've put the Arsenal FM10 page up. I'm not sure how you want them to link together (so it links to the main Arsenal apge), so would you be able to sort that out for me pelase? Cheeeeeeeeeers![]()
Can do mate.
Edit: Done.
Legend, cheers![]()
What do people think of the Arsenal Edition page? http://footballmanagerwiki.co.uk/ind...rsenal_Edition
I wasn't sure whether to put the FM09 or FM10 image at the top. Decided on FM10 because it's the most recent, rather than chronological order. Agree with that choice?
It wasn't my fault
God knows where the posts intended for this thread ended up...
Does anyone think that we should have pictures of the kits on the club page for each team?
It'd be quite a lot of work mate, and I think most of them say what colour the kits are anyway but it's up to you - it would look quite good I suppose. It's another thing that might need updating when a patch is released, too. It depends if you think it'd be worth the amount of work it would need?
What do you think of this page? I found out how to link to a certain section of the page;
[[Resource Archiver#Browse Archive|Browse Archive]]
That'd take you to the Browse Archive section on the Resource Archiver page.
Page 10
Shows how many more threads are started just after a release [at least half could have been avoided by using the search function - another place another time for that moan I know!].
I've updated the Steam achievements page with the descriptions but not added the points that each are worth due to me not installing via Steam.
We have over half a million page views![]()
![]()
Cheers mate, it's great to know that the site is helping people and tbh, it's done better than I think anyone thought it could have!
It's good to see that different people have different 'specialist' areas on the game. I'm quite good at noticing transfers and keeping squads up-to-date.
Fantastic site, keep up the good work.![]()
Yes really
*waits for tottenhamfmo7 to spot an error*
*Sulks in corner.*
OK?
I meant on the wiki though fwiw.
