Oh okay, I get it now. Good idea![]()
Oh okay, I get it now. Good idea![]()
Tbh I think 3 is too many, if someone is trying to ruin work made by people trying to help the community they don't deserve rights to edit it even after one warning.
My opinion, of course.
Can I ask again who has 'reserved' doing various country pages?
It is simple to undo the edit once we cop it but maybe you are right. I put in 3 as that is the max I would have. There is 5 on Wikipedia which I think is far too much. Obviously 3 is my opinion as well so if more people want less then that is fine.
Oh yeah, we have lost links to them from the home page now as I changed the home page. I think rancer was written beside Canada but that was all. The rest were red links but without a name beside them.
One warning and then the second time ban them. We can't afford to have idiots deleting all of our hard work.
I'm on jod's side with this one. I think what this guy did wasn't so bad, plus it's easily reversible. One warning & then a ban would be too strict imo.
Also I was just reading on Wikipedia and we should not permanently block an ip address as they can sometimes be dynamic (which means they change) which means anyone (even one of us if we have a dynamic ip) could be blocked if they got assigned that ip address in the future and their ip could change which means they could still access it.
If they are on a mission to abuse it for a night or something though eventually we should block them but then unblock the ip address at a later time.
Fair enough Alan, but for repeated offences and bad first time deletions/useless edits, give them a level 2 warning at least. That way everyone will be happy
Fantastic work lads. I think we should give two warnings and a ban, myself. If they have two warnings it clearly shows that the user is in it for the laughs so we might as well ban his IP, then unban it after 3 days.
Down for me now.
Is it down for you Arsenal as well?
Just use the links that Jod and Peter provided on the previous page and it should work. It's working for me at the mo
Cheers guys. Just updated my bookmark.
Why is it down?
Ah, that's fine.I've missed today's action while I was at the Ricoh
![]()
Both urls seem fine to me...
I wrote up a bit of the Canadian team (I will write a lot more once later on, when I get bored of coursework), and thinking of writing about the USMNT team too, if no one rejects...
![]()
I reject just to be awkwardGo for it.
Not much has happened today. It's been one of the slowest development days since the start, mainly due to the all-guns firing start though.
Can we have a vote on the layout option?
Because I do dislike the new option.
I understand that we don't wan't a major list but at least could we have the links like 'Gameplay' and 'Technical' etc. in a list going down the page.
Woooo! No one better write on my pages.![]()
EDIT: One more till 4000.![]()

You may use the St Albans City official thread, arsenal_2111

Rancer, your Canada article is a bit biased so far...![]()
http://www.fmliveonline.com/fmwiki/i...ecial:AllPages
That is the link. You need go to special pages and then to all pages.
You could probably have a direct link to it on the home page if you want that.
'Very strong on paper.'
Fantastic!![]()
It's very true in a way. I cannot seem to understand how on earth can we lose to Honduras and Jamaica...
I didn't mean we could beat up on the States and Mexico.
Oh, and our strikers are useless... (well Radzinski was good, but the key word is was...)
EDIT: on the youth team now
EDIT2: very strong on paper in the CONCACAF region, for more verification lol

I'll go ahead & write the FM06 page now. Who reserved the FM07 page & do they plan on actually doing it? It's been left blank for ages![]()
Nothing there as that is a template. On short articles you just type stub to add in that template which adds in the text in the template.
It is like the unconstructive edits warning templates earlier for warning people after abusive/unconstructive edits like someone did earlier.
Oh, I see.
Then, why does it redirect from Dynamo Kyiv and not Dinamo Kiev.
Can we do individual player profiles?
Can someone make a redirect to the Major League Soccer page when you type in "MLS"? (if possible, I'm too lazy to type the whole name every time. On wiki, i just type "mls")
Oh, and rob, I'm already starting to think about making some individual wiki player pages, from the uncreated red link pages of de Guzman and DeRosario on the Canadian page.![]()
I'll do it now rancer![]()
I'll chip into this fine wiki with all the info i've got!
I apologise over the Dynamo (Kiev), (Kyiv), (Kyev) thing. I did not understand but now I understand over the redirects.
Could I have a redirect done for the Preston page, so that when you type in 'pne'.
I will do it myself if you tell me how to. Thanks
I'll tell you if you want so you know in the future anyway.
Just create a page with the title of the redirect, so in this case it is PNE.
Then on the page just put the following #REDIRECT pagename
pagename is obviously the name of the article you want to redirect to so in this case it is the Preston page.
Ok, thanks a lot.
I have edited the CM01/02 page, adding some info there but I have not finished.
This is what I have done: http://www.fmliveonline.com/fmwiki/i..._Manager_01/02
I added the player profile page on the banner.
Move it to look better if you want, as I was unsure of where to position it.
Just saw the new layout, very nice, looks proffesional. You guys have done good. I do think we should have an organised 'all articles' page.
I edited the CM01/02 page a bit. Removed the roken links for you.
I have done the FM07 page quickly. I will finish it off later on.
Rob, do you plan on putting an introduction in your CM01/02 page? I must say it looks a bit bare without it. If not, I could do it if you like![]()
I've finished England, it's amazing how little there is to say about them actually! Might do a recommended formation bit
I thought that it would be only suitable if the first player profile would be of him:
The Biggest Flop due to the hype.
BTW, this article is not finished but is a start.
Just did a bit on the release of FM09
I see that you have done it. It looks good. I may add some more information to it as we go along.
How come I can't add in the contents or the opening at all?
Is it because i am not an admin?
Do you think that we will ever have more people with sysops(admin) priviledges?
Plus, weren't there 4 people with admin priviledges before JJay helped us?
Lot of questions I know![]()
CaptainPlanet has yet to register to the Wiki I believe so that is why he is not sysops; he would be made sysops if/when he signs up
In this page, Player Profiles why can I not add more players to the list?
It is really annoying me and hampering me doing stuff having all this stuff blocked, as I would like to add more player profiles.
Just type at the end of every page you want put into that category.
Well, I just added Landon Donovan.
How are you guys going to approach these player profiles? Add a player screenshot, and include a coach report? Just wondering how to improve the presentation of these player profiles...
This new layout is getting on my nerves, I can't figure out how to edit stuff into it. For instance, on the player profile page, I press edit at the top of the page, post a link and it puts it in the description. Someone please help.
I'm on the verge of giving up, the new layout is absolutely terrible. Can't get anything in TBH. Plus it's harder to navigate.
I've finally figured it out. Cheers ahmufcwafc. Couldn't figure out what you meant, kept putting player nameCategorylayer profiles all as one.
Just finished my To Madeira profile
I will add a screenshot when I know how to insert images.
I understand the new layout now and it is ok once you get used to it.
The last couple of hours has made it a very productive day for the site and I would just like to say well done to everyone who has helped this evening.
Especially, to ahmufcwafc who has been extrememly helpful in working out the new layout.
And thanks to the maker of the wiki... oh yeah![]()
I agree, ahmufcwafc is the best
Anyway, here's how you add a screenshot:
- Click 'upload file' on the left hand corner of the page.
- Upload it from wherever you have it saved.
- Go into the page that you want to put the image into, & at the top write
I am making my first contribution to the site, and article on general training (eg. categories, star ratings etc.) I don't think anybody has done / started this but can somebody just confirm before I begin?
Sorry lads - the link www.footballmanagerwiki.co.uk has all sorted itself out and it was my fault that I hadn't removed part of the url from the wiki setup why it didn't appear.
It's up and working now so the domain in your hyperlink bar should be correctMakes it easier when creating and editing articles
![]()
What has happened to the site?
All its structure and layout has gone???
I was in the middle of an article and I just saved it and it messed up.
Anyone know what has happened?
Did anybody decide on what logo you were going to use from Neji's awesome contributions![]()
Yeah - the temporary link that you were given no longer points straight at the wiki settings which is why the layout will disappear on there. Your coding on your page shouldn't be a problem if you load it up using the below link.
www.footballmanagerwiki.co.uk <--------------- That's the link now for the long-term. No more temp links![]()
