  1. Enfield Town - 2027/28 Another year, another struggle. 19th place for us again as we once again went to the final day and relied on results elsewhere going in our favour when we didn't win. Thankfully they did, and we live to fight another year. Struggling to get any form of consistency, although I think our players are well below this level which is probably the issue. In the FA Cup, we made the first round proper, easing by Paulton, Plymouth Parway, VNL side Newport County before losing on penalties to Northampton after back-to-back 3-3 draws. We were entertaining, that's for sure. Exited the FA Trophy immediately, losing to Wealdstone. Key Players Three twenty goal players make up our key players section, as Oliver Knight had an incredible season in the AM slot. Wyllie was also good on the wing, but Sykes was very hot and cold up front for us despite all his goals. These lads are aging though, and none of our youths seem to fancy stepping up to the plate. Youth Intake Three really good additions to the first team here. Howard is a tidy looking player but might not oust Oliver Knight just yet, but I'm really excited by Muzaffer Turkoglu who looks like an exciting prospect. He'll play alot next year I think. Our U18s have torn it up this year! On some coaching news, the board has approved Teddy Guliyev's coaching course and now we're studying towards a continental A licence. Hoping this helps with coaching and tactics, because we need some change soon.
  2. Enfield Town - 2026/27 A take if two halves this year as we picked up the majority of our points before the turn of the year before going on an awful run and recording just 2 (two) wins from January to April. Really not sure how to stop the rot here. We finished 19th by the sheer luck of other teams around us being awful. FA Cup saw us out in the fourth qualifying round to Dorchester, and no repeats of our final appearance this year in the FA Trophy as AFC Fylde of the National League beat us 2-1 in the third round. Key Players Would, and maybe should, have put no one here as nobody truly stood out - Gucci is our best player by a long way and even he's only considered a decent Vanarama South player so we're miles away in terms of talent. Freddie Stanley is an okay option at left back and Marcus Wyllie was our top scorer with a massive 14 goals. Youth Intake Happy with that. Gadir and Ridgewell both immediately join the first team and provide some much needed upgrades in the centre of the park. Moyses could turn into a solid defender - we're losing one of our starting centre backs to retirement this summer, so he may find himself in the first team sharpish.
  3. 2025/26 - Enfield Town Not as good as last season domestically, but still safely mid-table. We struggled in a lot of games and didn't score too many goals - 52 was the lowest outside of the relegation places - but we did enough to scrape by sometimes. 14th place is great really when our squad probably isn't even that good for the VNLS - we were predicted 24th at odds of 400-1 so far surpassed that expectation. The cups, forgotten in the last update because they were so uneventful, were much better this year. Well, the FA Trophy was as we bored our way to the final before losing out 0-1 to York City. In the FA Cup, we lost to Slough in a game we should've won. Second year running that's happened. Key Players None of our players averaged over 7.0 which perhaps shows a problem with consistency, but these guys were good. Gucci is our best player by far (and brilliantly named) while Parcell was good but not quite as good as last season, suffering from injuries alot more this year. 16 year old Charlie Donoghue was really impressive in goal and came on leaps and bounds this year. Youth Intake Quintyne looks good and provides some much needed depth at centre back. Likewise Karlsson (despite his horrible personality/determination) and Williams provide depth on the wings, in fact both actually surpass the ability of our back up Lewis Taaffe so will likely be part of the first team next season. Upgrades Got a few! Can't upload them though due to image limits though.
  4. Enfield Town - 2024/25 We took over the squad the which was not too badly balanced but with a lot of older players and one 16 year old goalkeeper, we'd need reinforcements at a decent level quick. With that said, our opening season was a grand success in the league at least. We started well, wobbled slightly in the middle, but we still had a chance of the playoffs going into the final day. Sadly, our last game was against eventual champions Eastbourne, and they had their own battle going on for the top. They won 2-1, winning the title and ensuring we'd miss out on the playoffs this year. Still, 8th place is fantastic! Key Players Mickey Parcell was incredibly good, marauding up and down the right wing and providing an impressive 15 assists to earn the title of Fans Player of the Year. Marcus Wyllie played left wing or up front depending on the form of others, and he rewarded us with 19 goals including a perfect hat-trick. Tyler Blackwood rounds off our top three players, surprised his rating was so high to be honest, he was good but not great in my opinion. 17 goals is still good, but I'd expect a better return for massive £625 p/w wage! He's off to America in the summer. Youth Intake The intake is okay, but not spectacular. Half star current ability is the best we've gotten so far. Donoghue is the best at 3.5 star potential and he provides some much needed depth in goal, possibly even pushing for a start. Gordon Wood and Josh Higgins will be in and around the first team this year, with the former possibly replacing Blackwood once he departs for the states. Upgrades
  5. From the ashes of his Needham Market career rises Teddy Guliyev II...
  6. Sacked by Needham Market relegated by the combination of an 89th minute Guiseley goal against us and Nuneaton beating Alfreton. Gutted. Try again tomorrow I suppose
  7. 2024/25 - Needham Market It was a solid enough first season for us in the VNLN as we finished eight points clear of relegation in 19th place. Though we flirted with the relegation places, we were never actually stuck down there aside from a two week period at the midpoint of the season. Towards the end, we picked up some really good results and eventually, we pulled away from the pack to safety. This allowed us to play some of our brand new youth players for the final few games & scope out what we were working with now. The FA Cup saw us thump Whitley Bay 6-2 before being beaten by Basford from the league below in the Third Qualifying Round. Poor. The FA Trophy saw us exit at the Fourth Round, losing to Macclesfield after beating Nuneaton by a single goal and then eventual league winners Scunthorpe by three in a somewhat surprising result for us. Key Players Nathan Minhas was a star for us, top scoring with a terrific return of 27 goals in 43 appearances. His partner up top, Dontai Stewart, returned a respectable 16 goals & 7 assists to provide some help of his own when Minhas was off for or injured. Callum Page was primarily used as a right winger over the season, he suffered a touch from inconsistency, but when he was on form he showed why he was our best player. 17 assists is another top return. Youth Intake Ian Miller and Luke Yeo both look really good mentally, and both are ready for first team football right away almost. Yeo will likely retrain as a DM with Miller taking the CM spot you can see on the tactic above. Ciaren Prudhoe-Lazzari not only has a great name, but he'll replace the outgoing Reece Harris who is retiring at the end of the season. The intake has provided us plenty depth, expecting Popescu, Eloi, Charlie Williams and Andrilius to be up and around the first team next season. Next Season Aiming for survival again!
  8. Needham Market Football Club Finally bought FM24 after missing out the last two editions. Always read this thread and loved this challenge, closest I came was in Slovenia in FM21 where I took Dravograd to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Tough challenge in England and Needham Market will be no different, though there are a few key players and we have a squad of 16 or so. Aiming for survival and that's it!
