  1. You could always merge databases, and most importantly make multiple saves as you edit, so you don't lose everything if things go wrong.
  2. I'm sure it would be possible but not something I have done before. So are you starting your save in 2024? You could try a couple of things. Are you able to alter the histories of the league? Not sure if it will let you change the future! That would be the easiest way. You could try in Teams > Qualified Teams to "Get specific team" and I think you can set what year you want that to happen. You would probably need another instruction in there to revert back to the normal selection rules by adding a start date to it. I'm guessing here but it's logical 🙂. The very long winded hard work way would be to redo the competition to take place in the year you want, and add the teams you want in it. Then have the normal competition start again the year after. So you'll effectively have for example 3 competitions running in different years... UEFA Cup 2023, UEFA Cup 2024, and UEFA Cup 2025+ I've not done any of this myself but I guess it's possible. Unless anyone else has a far more simplistic way of doing it?
  3. Yeah I've had some files that appear no problem, but others I've had to do that little trick to fool the editor
  4. If you convert it to xml file in fm24 editor. Open it in notepad or notepad++. Search for "verf". Change the 24.0.0 to 23.0.0 (or whatever 24.3 whatever it is saved as). Then import it into the fm23 editor. Then save it as an fmf file. You should now have the file available for fm23.
  5. Thanks @rusty217, I still can't get things working. The qualifiers start in March 23 end in Nov 23, the playoff draw is made 3 days later and they take place in march 24. The finals are set up a week later and then drawn a few days after that. The finals take place in June to July 24. I have decided to start again from scratch. If it won't work I'll keep the tournament as is for 2024, and then end it and start a new one for 2028.
  6. I have spent another evening playing with dates, adding things, taking things away, testing testing testing!! I got past my teams errors and then got number of dates in stages errors. I fixed those. Even after testing when I get no errors coming up the Euros always jump to 2028 and never begin. 2024 only ever shows up when I do something to create an error. I'm missing something simple I'm sure!! Can I ask in your opinion is it best to overwrite a competition in full instead of modifying it? I am wondering if there's things in the background from the original state of the competition playing with my mind, and not allowing the smooth running of things. For example I still have this screen at the beginning: Where as looking at a file you wrote for fm23 your screen does not show the original links to the file and folder that would have been there previously. Also any reason for choosing Fixed over Flexible Format Rules?
  7. You'd do well to download @Carlito85's uefa revival series. There's bound to be the competition you're after in there. Then you could study the fmf file and put it into your 09 editor.
  8. This is driving me insane. For the last 7 days I have been re-working the European Championships. I have removed the Playoffs (as a competition on it's own), and incorporated it into a Stage 1 of the Qualifiers which is Stage 0. All editor testing shows that section is working fine. My problem is the Championships never play out. I've fiddled with dates. Some tests the competition shows as trying to set up in 2024 but it is not pulling the correct amount of teams, even though I can see the teams are there in the editor test. I often get the message needs 16 teams, only found 1, or the complete opposite, where it has found 15 and needs 16. So when I study those errors and adjust things so that the errors don't appear, after an editor test it seems to just skip 2024 all together. I have run the test from June 2023 to July 2027, and I get the following screen which shows the 2024 tournament has been bypassed. What do I need to be looking at here. I have checked and double checked dates all over the place. I am going mad trying to do this! I have also continued that test into 2029 but the cycle begins again of not being able to find enough teams. But as you can see the right amount of teams have qualified. Could anyone shed any light on this for me? It is bound to be something so simple that I have overlooked.
  9. Yes that is possible. You won't see russian teams in European competitions until the 2nd season.
  10. Unless of course you create your own continental competitions which don't use the coefficient system.
  11. Yes it is possible. I removed Gibraltar from European competitions, when recreating Soviet Union as Russia. Their club teams play in continental competitions, and the national team play in world cup qualifiers, but not european ones. I'm working on a file now to get them playing european ones as well. That involves rebuilding the competitions. Check out my files here . You can dissect them in the editor to see what I've done. Here is a save game file in 2041. You can see what is possible.
  12. IRL I deplore the kit rules. Many many pointless kit changes. Years ago if West Ham were playing away against a team in white shorts and socks (Leeds for example), we would simply change our shorts and socks to the away ones. Nowadays we end up running out in a full 2nd or 3rd kit. Trivial, maybe? Bugs me? Definitely. I think, again IRL, there needs to be stronger regulations for what colours a 2nd and 3rd kit should be. A dark coloured home kit should not have a dark coloured away kit. That's just an excuse to create a 3rd kit to make more money out of the fans. There was no reason Brazil couldn't have worn their home kit in last night's match against England. Personally I would like the option to alter club away colours every couple of seasons. Classic Liverpool away kits have been yellow shirts, yellow shorts and socks, whilst also a white shirt, blacks shorts, red socks has been quite iconic. It sort of defines certain eras of a club.
  13. I think that is in nation > information> Transfer Preferences. (I'm doing this from memory so not sure if thats the perfect path I've given you there). If you double click on the nation, the Information tab is under details. (ish 🥴)
  14. For those interested in playing FM24 with Russia and Belarus included in Continental and International football and playing on home soil, then follow the link to my UEFA REBOOTED files here: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/584406-uefa-rebooted-alternative-continental-intercontinental-and-international-files/ Of the downloads available, if you just want to have Russia and Belarus back to football life before the War in Ukraine, then download these 3 files: - UEFA REBOOTED - International file - UEFA REBOOTED - Belarus file - UEFA REBOOTED - Russian clubs return to competitions Set up a game with just those 3 files and you will get Russian clubs playing Continental football, and playing their matches on home soil, as do Belarus. The Russian national team will enter the International scene as well, playing Nations League, Euro qualifiers, and World Cup qualifiers. The Russian club ban is lifted after the first season in the game. Season 24/25 is where you will see them playing again. Belarus are active from 2023 season as UEFA / FIFA never banned them. Please note …** I am not supporting the war in Ukraine ** For full details about how the files work and what has been done, read the info in the thread that the link above leads to.
