  1. March 2038: March 6th: Leicester (h) (30/38) Leicester had the first of the game as a poor pass by P.Lane was intercepted but luckily for him K.Swaby managed to block the effort. On the 28th minute we had our first chance as S.Pino tried his from outside the area but the shot rattled the crossbar and went over and out. Eight minutes later Leicester had another chance to score with a thunderous shot which skimmed just wide of the upright. Three minutes into the second half the opening goal was scored as D.Benedetti ran through the Leicester defence with ease and fired under the onrushing keeper. Soon after we had another chance to score with a long range effort from G.Mokulu which stung the fingers of the keeper. On the 65th minute we grabbed goal number two as D.Benedetti ran onto a M.Vandamme through-ball and wasted no time in lashing the ball past the keeper. Twelve minutes later Leicester came close to pulling a goal back as they beat the defence with ease but K.Swaby managed to tip it round the post. On the 83rd minute Leicester had one last chance in the game as M.Reekers fluffed a clearance but luckily for him the Leicester effort was as bad as the clearance Man Utd 2-0 Leicester D.Benedetti 48, 65 K.Swaby, L.King, T.Franco, J.Smith, P.Lane (M.Reekers), A.Xhepa, M.Arruabarrena (K.Jardine), D.Leonardi, M.Vandamme, S.Pino (G.Mokulu), D.Benedetti
  2. April 2024: April 1st: The first game of the month saw Eric starting the home game against Kidderminster and Eric played a pivotal part in the opening goal as he was hauled down in the area, Eric stepped and wasted not time in firing the penalty straight into the bottom corner sending the keeper the wrong way. The game took a bit of a sour note though as B.Hobson was replaced for what looked like a serious injury on the stroke of half time. The second half was all Chesterfield but for all the forward pressure Eric and his team mates just couldn't get the ball in the net and the home crowd had to settle for a 1-0 win. April 6th: Chesterfield now faced an away game against Gateshead and the whole side didn't play well as Gateshead dominated and on the 38th minute they grabbed the lead with a B.Chadwick goal after A.Palmer failed to deal with a simple ball. The second half wasn't much better for Chesterfield and neither Eric or any of his team mates came away from the game with much to shout about. Paul Cook however was savage April 13th: Next up was an away game against Wealdstone and Chesterfield dominated with some great attacking but they just get past a stubborn Wealdstone defence. The second half was all Chesterfield again but on the 68th minute Wealdstone countered Eric's side and J.Cook fired in low past the keeper. Chesterfield carried on the forward pressure but just couldn't score and Chesterfield were giving away the chance of automatic promotion April 20th: The final game of the season and it was simple Chesterfield just had to win as they faced Maidenhead at home. Unfortunately Maidenhead hadn't read the script and took an early lead on the 9th minute with W.De Havilland scoring low past the keeper. On the half hour Chesterfield grabbed the equaliser as D.Oldaker threaded the ball to L.Thomas who lashed it high into the top corner. The second half was all Chesterfield as they piled on the pressure and on the 84th minute the winning goal was scored as Eric ran into the defence with the ball to fire under the onrushing keeper and give Chesterfield the title and promotion to League Two. 5. March 2024: March 1st: Eric has been subject to some transfer deadline day action yesterday with a number of Premier League and Championship Clubs all enquiring, however luckily for Chesterfield noone sent in a formal bid March 2nd: The first game for Chesterfield and Eric this month sees his side facing Dorking away. Dorking started the better and scored in the 23rd minute, however Chesterfield managed to pull level as K.Best fired in from a J.Grimes knock on. The second half was all Chesterfield with the winning goal being scored on the 74th minute as M.Jacobs curled in from the corner of the area. Eric however didn't have the greatest of games and struggled to get much action despite playing the full ninety minutes March 9th: It was now time for Chesterfield to play AFC Fylde and it wasn't a great game for the home side or for Eric. Fylde took the lead in the 4th minute from the penalty spot . Fylde then scored a second goal in the 39th minute after some woeful defending. The second half was alittle better for Chesterfield as they pulled a goal back late in the half with L.Thomas fired in. It was however too late for the home side and they lost 2-1, with Eric again playing the greatest March 12th: Next game for Chesterfield and Eric was a visit from Oxford City. A cracking start saw B.Hobson firing in from just inside the area within forty seven seconds. However after the goal the first half dragged by with little in the way of action. The second half was all Chesterfield and on the 75th minute L.Mandeville fired home from close range. With two minutes remaining in the game Chesterfield made it three nil as A.Dobra showed some silky skills to beat the defence and keeper. Despite not scoring Eric had a good game and was a menace to the Oxford defence March 16th: Chesterfield and Eric then played Oldham away from home and Eric's side started the better with a goal from L.Mandeville on the 8th minute. Twelve minutes later Chesterfield had another chance with a thunderous effort from Eric but the Oldham keeper saved well. The rest of the half was a none event. The second half was pretty quiet with very little in the way of action and Eric was brought off in the 74th minute March 23rd: The next game for Chesterfield and Eric was a home game against Boreham Wood and it was the away side which controlled the first half but luckily for Chesterfield they couldn't hit a barn door from six yards. The second half was better for Chesterfield as they reacted to the Paul Cook team talk. It took four minutes for Chesterfield to take the lead as Eric finally scored after a great cross from L.Mandeville. It was Eric's first goal in ten games. Chesterfield carried on the pressure but failed to add to Eric's goal. Eric was brought off on the 74th minute March 29th: Another game which Eric started and he played well throughout and nearly scored on the 39th minute after his effort was tipped round the post, from the resulting L.Mandeville corner B.Hobson headed in to silence the York crowd. The second half was fifteen minute old when the second goal was scored as Eric passed the ball to O.Banks who then threaded the perfect ball to L.Mandeville who lashed the ball into the back of the net. Eric was brought off on the 75th minute With the season entering the final stages Chesterfield were top of the table two points clear of Gateshead. They were also guaranteed at least a play-off spot at the end
  6. February 28th: Man City (Wembley, London) EFL Cup Final A poor start saw D.Collado beating the offside trap and firing under K.Swaby. On the 9th minute City had another chance to score as M.Johansson rose above my defence and headed a I.Coda Zabetta cross past my keeper but luckily for us it hit the crossbar. On the 25th minute we had our first chance as D.Benedetti barged into the area and slid the ball towards goal but R.Mesquita saved well to deny him. Six minutes later City had another chance with F.Alvarez curling the ball towards goal but K.Swaby saved well. Just before the break we had our next chance as M.Arruabarrena stung the fingers of R.Mesquita. The second half was five minutes old when D.Leonardi was brought down in the area, D.Benedetti stepped up for the penalty and fired the ball straight down the middle past the keeper. On the 62nd minute we came close to taking the lead as A.Grossi beat the City offside trap was thwarted by a great challenge from G.D'Angelo. Nine minutes later City had came close as D.Collado fired towards goal but K.Swaby saved well, with the throw out from K.Swaby G.Mokulu controlled the ball and fired past R.Mesquita from twenty five yards. It was end to end stuff and on the 84th minute City had yet another chance as B.Platt stung the fingers of K.Swaby after my defence seemed to fall asleep. With two minutes remaining in the game we had the chance to increase our lead as A.Grossi ran through the defence and fired towards goal but R.Mesquita saved well to deny him. Man Utd 2-1 Man City D.Benedetti 50 pen, G.Mokulu 71 / D.Collado 4 Man Utd: K.Swaby, L.King (capt), T.Franco, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, M.Arruabarrena, D.Leonardi, M.Vandamme (G.Mokulu), S.Pino (K.Jardine), D.Benedetti (A.Grossi) Man City: R.Mesquita, L.Pinho, G.D'Angelo, A.Melnyk, K.Gerland (capt), F.Alvarez (R.Luscher), I.Coda Zabetta, M.Pascual, P.Wilkins (E.Goncalves), M.Johansson (B.Platt), D.Collado The end of the month sees my side top of the table level on points with Liverpool with 61pts after 29 games.
