  1. I'm loving some of those ideas! I heard Dave Kitson was involved with a failed consortium takeover before the Thai's came in I believe, so it's not that far-fetched and idea. And Nigel Howe is back involved with the club once again to try and push through this current takeover and stabilise the club. I was hopeful we there would be progress with the takeover to allow me to manage the club after the Winter Update, but it is seeming unlikely any takeover will happen in time. For now I am doing a glory hunter save (I'm currently enjoying Scalvini at Atalanta) and thoroughly enjoying myself. I played as Reading FC last season and had success, but couldn't bring myself to touch them this year while the current owner stays in place.
  2. Interesting to see such a difference in your results using the same CPU. That would suggest that faster RAM improves performance by quite a margin.
  3. It would be great if you could run all benchmarks 1-4. That would give a complete picture of how these processors perform. The biggest gains from FM23 -> FM24 seem to have been in benchmark 3 from other data.
  4. That looks incredible! Didn't realise it would do that on an ultra-wide. What do the normal panels look like, for example the player or squad screens - I imagine they are very stretched?

  6. I'm not the creator, but it looks like their website domain has expired. Here is a copy of the spreadsheet that I downloaded previously. Hope it helps. I still used it for FM23 so it's still useful. FM21 Player Roles Spreadsheet v1.52.xlsx
  7. This is the exact same approach I've been using and nearly always get a positive reaction from players. The only additional instruction I would use is Demand More when 1-0 down to try and get a reaction from the players. I was not aware of the ability to cancel shouts. That will help in those annoying situations where you have applied a shout and then another goal is scored and the players react badly, so thank you for that bit of advice.
  8. I'm looking to change up my current 4231 tactic a bit and try to adopt an inverted wingback to create a 3241 in attack (a bit like a Pep tactic) and was hoping you might be able to give me some advice on a good combination of midfield roles. Last season I was playing this: The plan was to shift play to the left to create space for Endrick as the IFa to run into. This was very successful and resulted in us being top scorers in the league. As a result, I am tempted not to mess too much with the attacking trio, but want to try and change up the build-up. I came up with something like this and would like your feedback on any obvious weaknesses or improvements?
  9. It sounds like you have been heavily tweaking to improve your performance to get to those levels. The 7900 should not beat a 7900X or 7950X, certainly not at stock settings - there is a 200-300MHz boost clock difference. You must have got very lucky with your silicon. What kind of cooling do you have on the CPU?
  10. The 3d v-cache can still help at 4k, although the improvements are limited as it tends to be more GPU limited at those resolutions. Take a look at some example benchmarks between the 7950X3D and the normal 7950X - For example: https://www.anandtech.com/show/18747/the-amd-ryzen-9-7950x3d-review-amd-s-fastest-gaming-processor/10 If the CPU is mainly for FM purposes, how about going for the standard 7950X, 7900X (non-3D v-cache), or even a cheaper, more efficient 7900 (non-X)? From the benchmarks so far you wouldn't be giving up much performance in FM, you would save money, and still have a nice upgrade path in the future. Obviously this would depend on what CPUs Cyberpower offer (I always build my own so don't look at pre-build options). If FM is your main use of CPU, the ability to upgrade in 2-3 years would be nice from a FM perspective and is something that you won't be able to do with Intel. Any upgrade you make now will be a massive improvement over what you have already. I'm not an AMD fan-boy or anything. I just think that with FM being CPU intensive, having a cheaper upgrade path in a few years would be a good option when newer/faster CPUs are released, compared to Intel where you would need a completely new motherboard and CPU.
  11. I am thinking about a similar upgrade too, but I think I would go AMD for the upgrade path of AM5. That way, if you wanted to upgrade again to a faster CPU in 2 or 3 years you could just purchase a new CPU rather than needing a whole new motherboard etc. Until we get benchmark results from a 7950X3D, 7900X3D, or 7800X3D, we cannot say how 3D v-cache will perform for FM (I don't expect FM will benefit and the core clock speed drop will likely hurt FM more), but for other games they seem to be stomping on Intel 13-gen. Given the fact that you are looking to go top-tier 4090 GPU, I assume you will be playing other games. I doubt you will be upgrading your GPU again soon after spending £1600+, but with an AMD CPU you should have an upgrade path to at least 8000 and 9000 series CPUs in the future if you wanted a little performance boost. Certainly for FM, the CPU is king so to keep your machine feeling new, the option to drop in a replacement CPU after a few years would be a welcome benefit. I too went Intel 9th-gen (9700K) and I regret not going AMD given that I could have upgraded from the 3000 series at the time to a newer 5000 series for much less and seen a nice improvement.
  12. How do you access this feature? I'm still going through each player and it is taking forever! I'm using FM23 1.0.0 Edit: Found it - I totally missed it within the release notes! Great feature!
  13. Those are the sort of chart-topping results I would expect from a latest-gen, top tier, £769 CPU. The Benchmark A and B results aren't outstanding, but I think we are seeing diminishing returns in those benchmarks now. 2.5% faster in A and 3% faster in B than the top 12900k results. The real story is in Benchmark C and D, which this does extremely well in. 21% faster in C and 33.33% faster in D. It will be interesting to see how the Intel 13th-gen performs, and also the lower tier Ryzen 7000 chips.
