  1. In the 24.3 Patch free transfers in real world have been fixed however there is missing visual information on various pages and news items about these to the human manager and unclear/wrong error messages when interacting to offer a new contract. Cheye Alexander was released by Gillingham on January 29th and this is present in his "Past Transfers" in the pre game editor. But there is no indication of the future release on the player transfer page or player contract page. If you try to offer him a contract it says "You cannot make a contract offer for this player. This player has already agreed a contract offer with the club". This is presumably because he has an impending release but this text does not make this clear. The fact the players contract is expiring isn't shown in the news item on the first day of the job, despite the fact that his contract expires in less than 12 months and he's being released in January. After he is released it doesn't appear in Gillingham > Transfers > Transfers Out list. Pre Game Editor Past Transfers Transfers Page as opposition manager Transfers Page as Gillingham manager Contract Page as Opposition manager Contract Page as Gillingham manager Incorrect text when offering a contract Not shown in first day news item Release not shown in Gillingham > Transfers > Transfers Out page
  2. I can't seem to get free transfers working at all in real world mode. Here is an example with Rashford released on the same day as Kane goes to Bayern but he simply never leaves. Is the best workaround to give a contract end date and set leaving at end of contract? Rashford Free.fmf
  3. No mention of past transfer fixes in the 24.2 patch notes and no ability to comment on that post. Can you confirm if there have been fixes in this area @Kyle Brown ?
  4. @Bentfi you mention unemployed but I haven't been able to get unemployed working at all. Have you definitely seen it working? See below Watford's Ben Hamer is set to be released on 30/9/2023 but he's released immediately rather than on 30th September. It's definitely working otherwise because Saka is set to move to Watford and works perfectly. Just making players unemployed doesn't seem to work.
  5. Can SI confirm what happens if you add new leagues later in the game? e.g. if you're managing with just Russian league and get a newgen with ID 123 then add Scotland after 3 seasons and a previously not loaded Scottish player called "John Doe" has ID 123, will he get loaded with a new ID or not at all? It's a bit of a pain to test myself i'm hoping SI would clarify if adding new leagues is buggy or not so we can make a decision whether to risk loading them? @Zachary Whyte
  6. Confirm also happening: This is a newgen with UID 2000125465 which is the same UID as Stephen Padrao who is a now unemployed Salford player who is also still in the db. Note that these screenshots are taken from two difference saves I don't know what would happen if you were to add new leagues mid save and get more players from those loaded leagues that shared a UID with an already created newgen, I haven't been able to recreate that happening.
  7. @Wolf_pd old topic but did you ever figure out more about the fixture dates for different years? I've been trying to delete the entries for the WC 2022 so that it doesn't happen in December but no luck. Ideally i'd like to move all the entries for the World Cup 1 year back so they happen in 2 years time with a data update.
  8. Thanks @Zachary Whyte This was the same argument that was given in 2015 but got reverted when the community explained the usages and I'm not sure anything has changed in that time to warrant a backtrack. You're requiring that either; (1) every user downloads an XML and then uses PGE to convert to FMF before using with the game which would be totally impractical considering the data updates in question are downloaded over a million times each year. (2) or a human has to manually do it. Which prevents the ability to have "live" updates where user gets the latest version to that second. And makes it taxing to do hourly and daily updates because the human has to be online every single day 365 days a year to do it. Which is a massive imposition to people who are just trying to make cool things for the community. That's quite a big drawback to what seems like not much benefit. To reiteterare some examples of how XML is used: (1) for collaborative data updates where 500+ people submit transfers as they happen in real life, this is obviously impossible with the PGE. XML is generated for only 5-10 of the most basic properties such as team, wage, expiry date etc. This can then be downloaded "live" so you always get the latest squads up to that moment when starting a new career. I'm not aware of any reports of this XML being invalid or causing issues despite being downloaded over 1 million times in the past 12 months. (2) Football APIs can be used to fetch real life fixtures and results and add them to an XML file for each league. Since the game is forced to start on a Monday these are released each Monday morning so people can start saves with real life league tables on that Mondays date. At the very least some sort of alternative could have been offered such a command line option like "editor.exe verify --in myfile.xml --out myfile.fmf" although that would still probably require running a windows remote machine for $$$ to automate it, which is not ideal either. Maybe there could be a "verify" button without FM itself when you try and start a new game?
  9. @Wolf_pdyou asked me to post this here so you could give it to the attention of Devs. So just tagging you
  10. I'm not sure it's intentional or not and it may simply be that the XML needs modifying to be picked up in the game. With FM23 when you create a file in the Editor and use File > Export to get an XML file you can no longer put this file in the editor data folder and use it when starting a new game. Only fmf files are recognised and shown with checkboxes under the "Editor Data Files" heading when starting a new game. XML files are necessary when creating editor files collaboratively e.g. Data Updates that have >500 people contributing. They are also used for automated updates like real fixture and results files that use fixture APIs to generate XML files with the correct fixtures. This feature has already been removed in the past, in 2015, and was bought back after community feedback. You can read that old thread to get a number of opinions of why this ability is valuable to the community. I've attached an example of Ralph Hasenhüttl being released here and i've embedded the xml here. Place this XML file in the "editor data" folder and start a new game and the update won't be available under "editor data files" heading in the top right drop-down. In all previous versions it was. <record> <integer id="XSvC" value="1"/> <string id="EdBr" value="main"/> <date id="EdDt" day="21" month="11" year="2022" time="1845"/> <list id="db_changes"> <record> <integer id="database_table_type" value="1"/> <large id="db_unique_id" value="15469531605955957"/> <unsigned id="property" value="1348695145"/> <null id="new_value"/> <integer id="version" value="3506"/> <integer id="db_random_id" value="376538518"/> <record id="odvl"> <large id="Ttea" value="3062311682761"/> </record> </record> </list> <list id="verf"> <string value="23.0.0"/> </list> <integer id="version" value="3506"/> <integer id="rule_group_version" value="1488"/> <boolean id="beta" value="false"/> <string id="orvs" value="2300"/> <string id="svvs" value="2300"/> </record> Ralph Hasenhüttl Example.xml
  11. This seems to be an issue with XML not working again this year. Have any of you guys investigated? @ratio1618 @Wolf_pd @magicmastermind124 @rmurph244 @Dax_ @krlenjushka @oche balboa @L55DS @baasblack @dmakovica To be clear, the issue is if you use the export function and then put the xml file in the "editor data" folder, the game will no longer pick it up when selecting "Editor Data Files" when creating a new career game.
  12. The ability to add newgens via EDT files doesn't seem to work in FM22 (it did work in FM21 and 10+ years before) I'm struggling to find the the best description to link to this post from 10 years ago explains it pretty well: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/204583-people-who-work-for-si/page/2/#comment-6685606 Here's two threads elsewhere discussing it not working in FM22: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/558942-the-edt-failure/ https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/558336-future-regen-edt-files-in-fm22-beta/ Moderator @Wolf_pd said he's not aware of it being removed as a feature and to report it as a bug: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/558336-future-regen-edt-files-in-fm22-beta/?do=findComment&comment=13328854 I've attached an example file that worked in FM21 but not in FM22. Steps to reproduce Download the attached legendsdb.edt Place it in "Football Manager 2022\data\database\db\2210\edit\" Start a save in FM Holiday for a few seasons and see if any of the players in the file appear (edt file can be opened as text) Some players to look out for: Stuart Pearce Oscar Ruggeri Jorge Burruchaga Walter Zenga Igor Belanov Diego Maradona Ian Rush Gary Lineker Ruud Gullit They will not appear legendsdb.edt
