  1. Thanks mate And how much better than those is this one? https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=877A7EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB I know its more expensive but I can get it on PayPal interest free credit and over 3 years its only £4 a month more...
  2. Hey @kevhamster and others. I've narrowed down my laptop search to two HP Victus laptops: This one from John Lewis --> https://www.johnlewis.com/victus-16-r0007na-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-processor-rtx-3050-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-16-1-inch-full-hd-silver/p110659731 - £667 thru staff discount code The one directly from HP --> https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=876Z1EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB - £806.56 thru staff discount code From what I can tell, the John Lewis one has a better processor but "worse" graphics. And the HP one has newer graphics card but a slightly "worse" processor. Is that right? If it were your money, which would you pick?
  3. Would this laptop be okay for running the game in commentary only? Large database, 8 countries. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/msi-cyborg-15-15.6-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-rtx-2050-512-gb-ssd-10253504.html
  4. I solved my problem by taking a free trial of parallels, using my Windows key to create a VM, then created my bootable USB in the virtual WIndows machine rather than my Mac. And it worked
  5. Hey guys I'm a complete noob when it comes to PCs. I have had a Mac for the last 10 years but have just had a Gaming PC built for me by Cube. Gigabyte760M motherboard ; G-Force 4060 graphics ; Intel I7-12700F processor and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Stupidly, to try to save money to convince my wife to let me buy it, I left off having Windows pre-installed. Its a lesson I've learned and a mistake I won't make again. It looked so easy. I've got a new, clean 32gb USB. I have downloaded the latest version of Windows 11 Home onto my Macbook. And I have my license key. I have used both UUByte and Terminal to try to create a bootable version of the USB. With Terminal, it always ends up just not being bootable and not recognised. But with UUByte it seems to work and gets me through to the Windows Setup screens. But this is where things go wrong. If I tell UUByte to burn the USB media as a BIOS partition, I always get an error saying "Windows cannot open the required file C:\Sources\install.swm And if I tell UUByte to burn the USE media as a UEFI partition, I get an error saying "A media driver on your device is missing..." Any ideas? Other than call the place I bought it from tomorrow and grovel and hope they'll fix it for me?
  6. Thank you I ended up going for the Cube one from Box - with a 1TB SSD ; Intel i7-12700F ; 16GB 3200 RAM ; GeForce 4060 Came to £975 do you approve? Possibly not too late for me to change it!!!
  7. Or this one looks decent? Is the processor sufficient? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3343829?clickPR=plp:9:51
  8. Thank you for this. A few questions if I may: I already have a Windows 11 License Key. If I were to buy this and select to remove Windows, it saves nearly £100. I could then add the recovery image option on the USB drive for £5. Would that allow me to install Windows myself easily onto the machine when it arrives? After posting I went back a few pages and FINALLY found somebody asking you about desktops and you recommended this one --> https://www.box.co.uk/Cube-Mythic_4740361.html?config=2336001,3608339,4086959,4537730,4898838 . I have gone through and seen all the different options. Is there a reason the one you've recommended here is superior to this? The monitor I have already is this --> https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-line-278E1A-DisplayPort-speakers/dp/B07TPFVXWJ. Will it do the PC I buy justice?
  9. Hello. Keen to buy a new gaming PC (rather than laptop) and this seems to be the right place to ask! Main games I will play are FM and Pro Cycling Manager (similar in terms of requirements). I'd like a machine that is ideally upgradeable as and when I need it (for a noob) - and is ideally "future proofed" for if I want to for instance play more graphic intensive games. Also keen for advice on monitors. Budget about £1000 but could stretch a little.
  10. Forgot Argentina lost to Saudi in their opening game. That’s crazy.
  11. Mbappe only 4 goals from Mullers record now. Will likely beat it at age 27
  12. Happy for Argentina. The sheer emotion here. France won it last and will probably be favourites in 4 years. So this is my optimum result.
