  1. It doesn't work properly, was the same last year. You're better off just leaving the chief scout to oversee it, you'll get more recommendations that way. Like many of the things that have been highlighted time and time again since last year, it doesn't appear that there is any appetite from SI to fix it.
  2. Any update on this? is the issue, particularly in regards to development of technical attributes going to be fixed?
  3. And again…… Playing as Bradford. Have a young striker out on loan at Swindon, playing well and scoring goals. Green upward arrows all across his stats. recall him - continues to play well and score goals yet within 3 weeks of recall his technicals and some physical attributes are heading downwards with a lot of red arrows. same level of training facilities and similar level ass manager. This cannot be right??? Is this issue being addressed?? (Not seen it mentioned in the change list for the latest update).
  4. This really doesn't make sense - as pointed out there is definitely a problem with set piece attributes. In my current Spurs squad (season 3) I have a squad of 25 players. 2 have just joined, and 1 joined at the start of the season so not really long enough to judge. only 2 out of the remaining 22 players have the green "slight overall improvement in technical ability" 9 show "no significant change in overall technical ability The rest all have the red "slight overall drop in technical ability"message. Challenging at top of premier league and competing in Champions League, as well as regularly reaching latter stages of domestic competitions. Squad is being rotated - 16 have average rating for the season of 7 and above, only 2 have rating average rating below 6.9 I have 2 players over 30. Most of the players showing decline in technical abilities are below 30. I have "superb" training facilities and "state of the art" youth facilities, and a 4 star rated asst manager. If you look at the corner, free kick and penalty taking attributes, and ignore the goalkeepers, I have one player who has a slight upward green arrow in corner taking, and another who has the same in free kick taking. At best, the remaining 20 show no change on any of those attributes, but the large majority of them have red downward pointing arrows of varying degrees, and many that have significant reduction in one or more of those attributes. Is this going to be addressed - this has been raised by a number of us now. I've been playing FM for years, there is no way this is right or can "look good"
  5. I've added it to the relevant post in the bugs forum, but the development issue is massive - it's not just young players, established players are showing unrealistic decline in technical attributes and, to a lesser extent, physical attributes, even when playing regularly and playing well. I've got players across multiple saves, supposedly in the prime of their careers, who show good progression on the line graph, but have significant decline and red arrows across the board in their technical and physical attributes. It's particularly pronounced on the set piece technical attributes. I'd hazard a guess that it's something to do with the new training system, because players are developing fine elsewhere in the games. Game is basically unplayable - can't develop young players, and players you sign start decline pretty much from the day their contract starts. Can someone from SI confirm this is being resolved in the upcoming update? Given that it's almost a week since the full fat update, it's also pretty poor that the Touch update still hasn't been pushed out.
  6. Just to follow up on this - I've run another quick save with RB Leipzig. Same thing again - the players coming through the youth intake start deteriorating on technical attributes pretty much from day 1. Same thing seems to be happening with physical attributes as well, although to not as great an extent. A large number of players in their mid to late 20's are showing mainly negative arrows on technical and some physical attributes (across "all time"), and some showing reduction in some of these attributes - not sure that should be happening to players in the 25-28 age range. These are all players in their prime and playing at a high level. These are not players that have been performing badly, most have had average ratings across the season of between 6.80 and 7.00. One of them is 25, has scored 29 goals, has 8 assists, 9 potm awards and a 7.18 average rating across the season - technical attributes, with the exception of 3 are either neutral or on an downward trajectory, Physical attributes are mainly neural or on a slight positive trajectory, and physical attributes other than 3 are neutral or heading downwards. No attributes have actually changed in 2 seasons. There is definitely an issue with the set piece attributes - these ones deteriorate most of all. In a squad of 26 (with 3 goalkeepers), only 4 players have over 12 for corners, only 7 over 10 for free kicks, and only 4 over 9 for penalties. In the Aston Villa save referred to in the earlier post, only 3 from 25 have a rating above 10 for corners, and only 5 over 10 for penalties. This doesn't seem right at all. Players are developing elsewhere in the game, so would seem to be an issue with the new training system. That might also explain why the star ratings of established players signed only ever seem to go down rather than up. Can this be looked into urgently - it basically renders the game unplayable.
  7. I think there is an issue here - Coach report ratings for young players are not improving much, despite game time and the level being played at etc. I've been running a save as Aston Villa and applied the golden generation unlockable in season 1. I had 5 players that were all 2 star rated at the youth intake with 5 star potential (4 gold stars). I put them all into the first team at that point and have been playing all of them as the first choice in their positions ever since. Season 2 was a top 4 finish, and a UEL win, season 3 we won the league and the UCL. Now in season 4 and challenging for league, UCL, have made carabao cup final and still in FA Cup. Of those 4 players, 1 is now 2 star rated, 1 is 2.5 star rated, 2 are 3 star rated and 1 is 4 star rated. All have been trained in their specific roles, with additional focuses based on areas where improvement might have been required. Over this period, development of mental and physical attributes seems fairly normal and comparable to as seen in previous versions. The development of technical attributes is, in all cases showing either no overall improvement, or fairly major decline. Set pieces seem to be the worse - For one of the players (now 3 star rated), corners, free kick taking, long throws, and penalty taking have all gone down by 3 across "all time". Only 2 technical attributes have improved over the same period. Potential ability is now 4 star rated (3 gold stars) On another (player now 2.5 star rated), Corners and free kick taking are down by 2, long throws by 1. Penalty taking hasn't changed, but shows a red arrow. Only 1 technical attribute has increased. Also now 4 star potential (3 gold stars) On another (still 2 star rated), it shows a major overall drop in technical ability - Corners and free kick taking have gone down by 4 each! Penalty taking is down by 3. Long throws have remained the same (with a slight green arrow) 3 technical attributes have gone up by 1, but everything else technical has gone down, most of them by 2. There have also been drops in physical attributes as well which seems odd. Now only 3.5 star potential (2.5 gold star). Finally, even on the player that is now 4 star rated, there have been reasonable increases in mental and physical attributes. There has been no change in the technical attributes, and only 2 show positive arrows. This doesn't seem at all right - and I don't recall noticing anything like this in last year's version. It does seem to be more pronounced in players that weren't in the database at the start of the game, but looking at some other wonder kids I have in the squad (Barco, Ali-Cho, Baturina, Kamari, Hickey, Boselli) there is a similar trend. In nearly all cases the most significant decreases seem to be in those technical set piece attributes. Pretty big problem to be honest
  8. Got to agree with the sentiments of this thread. This isn't as simple as saying there are bugs, there are fundamental underlying issues with the overall gameplay and, if anything, FM24 Touch is worse than 23. I understand the limitations regarding the restrictions on number of seasons and leagues that can be played - not ideal but if it's the limitations of the platform then that's just the way it is. BUT... other than cosmetic changes, none of the underlying problems that were highlighted numerous times by many posters last year have been addressed, and there appears to be new ones as well: - The frequency of injuries is still ridiculously high. I've played numerous saves with different clubs in different leagues so far and in around 90% I have had multiple occurrences of the "player x injury sparks club y crisis" message in my inbox by xmas in the first season. Added to that, the injury history section of the medical report only ever shows the most recent injury and nothing else. Also, the sheer volume of players that become "injured" during winter because of a cold or a virus and aren't available to select seems high - Just taking my own "real life" club, I can only think of infrequent occurrences of this over many years. - Transfers are still broken. It is really difficult to move players on. Players show as wanted by other clubs, but it is rarely followed up on. If it is, it tends to be one non-negotiable stupid low ball offer. Once rejected the other club either ends their interest, or comes back numerous times with exactly the same offer. Transfer listed players rarely get transfer offers - nearly always a loan offer with barely any financial contribution in terms of monthly fee or wages covered and a low optional transfer fee. Numerous instances of letting players go on these deals, have storming seasons and then the other club either not making an offer (and then only getting loan offers from other clubs) or offering a fee lower than that in the agreement and then refusing to negotiate when you try and increase the fee to that level. When it is the other way round, the AI club will accept nothing other than the amount agreed in the original loan contract. If you structure a loan deal with a mandatory fee agreement in, the player almost always turns the dead down, even when their initial position is that x club would be their preferred destination etc. This actually seems worse than last year. - Disparity between ratings of players in transfer reports, and rating when you sign them. Also, the speed with which their star rating decreases even when putting in good performances. - Transfer data is a mess. If you go Into the transfer history of other clubs it isn't accurate. After four seasons of my latest save, the players listed in the transfer history suggest that Man City have only spent approx £85m in total since the game started. However, there are players in their squad that aren't showing on the transfer history, and the amounts spent/received that are shown do not tally with the players that are listed in the history. I don't recall noticing this last year, so possibly a new issue? - Reserve team don't use the first team tactic even though it is shown as the tactic for them. Assistant manager still trains players in positions/roles that aren't suited to the player, or relevant to the tactic being played. - Career progression is still difficult. Frequency of changes in manager in the Premier League is really low and this also seems the same at other "big" clubs across the leagues I'm playing in. This seems to be regardless of the performance of the club itself. It is very very rare to be linked with a vacant position if you're already in another job. Hasn't happened once in any of the saves I\v done so far this year. Only happened once or twice last year. Applying for, and getting offered better positions is rarely successful and often illogical. On my latest save I'm playing as Leeds. After four seasons we have been promoted from the Championship, getting an 8th place finish in the Premier League in the first season back and qualifying for and then winning the UECL. The following 2 seasons have resulted in top 4 finishes and Champions League qualification, with an FA cup win thrown, and a couple of other finals (which were lost) thrown in for good measure. Also have a good record in the 3 premier seasons against City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. Over that same 4 season, Spurs have never finished higher than 6th, and the last 2 seasons have finished 11th and 10th. They've not won any cup competitions either. They've sacked Ange so I applied for the job, and declared interest. It went to Eddie Howe who was out of work after getting Villa relegated (following a sacking from Newcastle). I don't necessarily have an issue with that but, both he and I have 4 star reputation, yet when I declared interest the item in the inbox stated that Spurs fans had "laughed off" my interest and felt they needed someone more successful. It doesn't tally with what then happens. Ten Hag still secure at Man U despite not finishing higher than 4th and finishing outside the top 6 for the last 2 seasons. - Young players still don't develop. All of the above contribute to making the game totally unenjoyable and virtually unplayable. I'm abandoning my Leeds save because it has simply become stagnant for all of the above reasons. I applied the golden generation unlockable at the start of season 1 and got an intake of 8 youth players all of league 1 or championship standard and 5 star potential (4 gold and 1 white star). Kept them in the reserves until they could be loaned out. Made them all available for loan, only had interest for 3 of them, no actual offers made until I offered them out for loan. The only way that clubs at the level they were rated as being capable for would make offers were if I agreed to cover all of their wages. Managed to get 5 of them out on loan initially. Now after 4 years, most have been out and played at championship level, some for a couple of seasons. Barely any development in any of them, and potential for most is now only 3.5 stars. There is one still at 4 star potential, but only 2.5 of that is gold star. Most of them will be released at the end of their contract. None of them have ever been close to getting first team action apart from one that no-one would loan. He got in the team in the prem as a result of another injury crisis, and then also got some cup games. Performed well - he was 2 star rated in his role at the start of that period, 1.5 stars at the end of that season. Then there was Charlie Cresswell and Archie Gray. I put them into first team during that first season in the championship. They were regulars and both had great season. They've remained regulars during the 3 years in the poem. Barely any progress, current star rating and potential both reduced. At the start of last season I spent most of my budget on Pacho from Eintract Frankfurt - had been tracking him for a while, good attributes and his performance stats had been good for the 3 seasons he had played in the Bundesliga and also in his European appearances, and was also an established international. He was rated as 4.5 stars in the role I needed him for by my chief scout. On signing this dropped to 3.5. My asst manager has the same attributes for judging ability and potential as my chief scout. He got sent off in a game and missed a match. When he came back in his rating had dropped to 3 stars. He's had a good season, best rated of all my CD's, he's now rated 2.5 stars. I understand how the rating system works, and that it is relative to the rest of the squad, but for that difference in a season you would have expected other players to improve - they haven't, they're all now 2.5 stars. Rinse and repeat this across numerous other positions in the squad and signings that I've made. I've had more income this year due to another top 4 finish and Champions League participation, and financial performance has improved year on year. The transfer budget is a third lower than last year and the wage budget has been kept the same. I can't sign the players of the quality I need to improve the squad because I don't have the budget, and even when I do, the player/squad rating just gets worse anyway so I can't judge what is needed. I don't have the capacity in the wage budget either - there are a handful of players out of contract, but not enough to make a difference. I can't free up wage budget by moving players on because the transfer system is broken. I can't buy cheaper younger talent with high potential, or try and bring academy players through, because they don't develop. There's no better jobs becoming available and on the very rare occasion they do, I'm not seen as suitable despite my record. So at the end of 4 seasons the save is over. The only way I can see there potentially being any hint of enjoyment in FMT at the moment is if you just stick to playing as one of the big clubs. It is virtually impossible to try and build a club at the moment. Absolute mess
  9. May be different on other formats. Don’t think that one is an unlockable on Apple Arcade - it’s a selectable option in game setup. There’s only a handful on the Apple version. Am a little disappointed they’ve carried over - always part of the fun with each new version to try and make the achievement.
  10. By looks of it any unlockables achieved in 23 are carried across to 24. I updated (Apple Arcade) yesterday and both Add a son and Golden Generation were available. On that basis I’d assume that any progress made in a save to date will also be carried across.
  11. I’m hoping so - won’t be the same if I don’t start with my traditional long term RB Salzburg save to unlock golden generation and create a son 😂
  12. Will unlockables opened up through achievements (Golden Generation etc) be reset, or will they carry over? (Kind of hoping they reset!). Thanks. good to hear it is remaining on Apple Arcade - it has its limitations compared to the old PC version, but will be interested to see the changes for this year and see how they work before deciding whether I’ll have to go back to the full-fat version (which I don’t really want to do!).
  13. This - FMT on apple arcade is a shadow of the PC version of FMT. Too many issues with this year's version that weren't resolved - the insane amount of injuries, the broken player development, broken transfer system, inability to holiday test tactics, the fact it is incredibly rare to be offered a job at a higher rep/division club when you're successful. and the unrealistic lack of turnover in EPL manager jobs meaning career saves hitting a roadblock - and all of this at a more expensive price point than the full version. Not really had many enjoyable saves this year. At the moment it looks like the only option may be to revert to the full game. It would be great to have a PC/MAC version of FMT back in the range, instead of the poor imitation that it is on Apple Arcade.
  14. You can't rest players on Touch - you can adjust the intensity of the training and that's it. Injuries are a joke on this year's version - they have been excessive since launch but, as with many things on Touch, there has been no inclination shown to fix them. On nearly every save I have tried (so with different tactics/approaches etc) large parts of the season are spent with around 4-5 first team players constantly out of contention, on a rotating basis. In addition, you can almost guarantee that every season you will get at least one player out for months with the ambiguously described 'hip injury' (on my current save I have two out at the moment because of this) and at least one other with a "lower back stress fracture" I'm not sure the levels of injuries, or the recurrence of specific injuries like that are realistic at all.
  15. Hi Knap, Great work as always on the tactics. Have you ever done a 4132 with 1 DM and 3 CM's?
