  1. I've come to the realization that asking a member of your team to help a new comer (especially a youngster/wonderkid) to settle in is extremely overpowered in the Beta, where the newcomer will simply copy the mentor's perfect mental stats: In the Arsenal Beta Save I provided, I signed three youngsters in the first season and all of them copied their mentor's great personality after the "settle in" period: - Benjamin Sesko, was Balanced before joining, asked Saka (a Model Citizen Personality) to help him settle in. Sesko then quickly become a Model Citizen after 3 months. - Victor Christianson, was Spirited before joining, asked Tierny (Driven) to help him settle in, he quickly become Driven after 3 months. - 18 year old youngster Prestiani, had a Balanced personality before joining, asked Odergaard (very professional) to help him settle in, become very professional after 3 months. The "help to settle in" does have a chance to pass on personalities, but this clearly is not intentional and is extremely overpowered in my opinion. Every time I sign a new youngster now I can just easily make him have great mental attributes.
  2. Here is an example from my save: Yes he's a very good player, but he's A: Already 29 years old B: Asked to leave and is unhappy Yet Bayern still want 96-119million for Leon Goretzka. Seriously I cannot fathom anyone in real life offering anything over 70 million for him. Oh and I am managing Arsenal so this certainly no Rival club premium here.
  3. I agree with this and will gladly provide my own save. After 1-2 seasons every decent player with CA > 160 could cost well over 80 million which is not realistic. Uploaded to ownCloud with filename: Yifan Wang - Arsenal - Full Release - Season 3 altered.fm
  4. another game, Gabriel scores a HAT TRICK of headers from set pieces, and Saliba also scores one. Set pieces could use some slight toning down, Gabriel scored 10 from set pieces in a season (and all I did is to ask him attack far post and ask deliveries to far post). Arsenal v RB Leipzig 8-0.pkm
  5. Should Divock Origi not be on Liverpool's favoured persons list? https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2022/jun/09/goodbye-divock-origi-liverpool-never-to-be-forgotten-cult-hero#:~:text=Divock joins the special list,or play hundreds of games.
  6. The default defending of wide freekicks is very poor for the AI, they often leave the far post wide open for a easy header. the AI should only have 1 man in wall, and have another good header of the ball defending far back post by default, otherwise I get a goal at least 50% of the time. see pkm chelsea vs everton, Forfana goal Chelsea vs Wolves, Bastoni goal Chelsea v Everton 1st goal.pkm Chelsea v Wolves freekick.pkm
  7. Martin Odegaard, IRL and in game is the default Arsenal Captain. However his leadership score in FM23 is only 8, and in-game it is recommended to strip him of his captaincy. I think this was overlooked as he clearly is a decent captain IRL and is in command of the team's pressing from the front in the game and does a good job at it. He may not yet be a great captain but a score of 8 is way too low. Recommended leadership:11-13.
  8. A few feelings about the ME: Pros: - Pressing looks more realistic and nice now, player under pressure and gets the ball robbed when swarmed by 2 opponents looks very realistic - I've not been able to get a 4-2-3-1 working at all, the one that served me well in 21 and 22 is no longer there (the 4-3-3 is pretty decent thou). I guess the 4-2-3-1 is due a nerf after all. Cons: - the AMC, AML and AMR line plays way to high up, they play almost as strikers (even when on support duty) looking to run behind the opponent instead of come and help build up play. I have AMC as Advanced playmaker support and instead he play almost like a shadow striker often running past the complete forward on attack. - The defending of long balls is often awful. You can have world-class Centre backs looks clueless as a ball is simply lumped past them and they will jog back, getting nowhere near the ball and oblivious to an opponent running past them at full speed. -
