  1. Hi Guys, Having issues with FM22 where there playing time is being properly reflected - is it a known issue or just takes time to take effect? My player feels he's playing time is 'surplus to requirements', when Ive been to using him as a 'squad player'. Causing me issues as he know wants to leave, but he's from my academy and is my long term plans....
  2. There will be a massive gap between their front four attackers and the rest of their team. So from an offensive point of view, you'll likely be able to control the middle third of the pitch. However, as they have two DMCs, they'll restrict space just infront of their defence. So if your system is set-up to exploit this space, then you'll likely struggle. I'd try to secure the middle numerically and then attack down the flanks. Likely that their wide forwards will not track back with any regularity. What's the system your using?
  3. This is what I've tried using either a FB (D) or IWB (D). It kind of creates it, but unfortunately the back three don't spread evenly and you have this lopsided shape. Ultimately you're too exposed on the left flank... Hope this is something we can create in future FMs, as it's a really fun way to create an interesting attacking shape.
  4. Has anyone seen this promise before and how to actually keep it? He wanted to join Chelsea and didnt let him. He then kicked off and was unhappy/complaining. I then tried to offer him out at £200m+ to see if I could maybe cash in. He obviously annoyed by my treatment. Had a team meeting and agreed to promise the squad to improve my man management skills Not sure what I need to do though?
  5. Sorry to bump an old thread* Im having a similar issue with Angel Alarcon in my Barcelona save. He currently has four clubs interested in him including PSG and Arsenal. His contract is up at the end of the summer and Im currently at the end of September. What's weird is he's really happy, so not sure what more I can do. Im even his favourite personal and he "enjoys playing for me"! I guess I'll have an option to offer in January, along with all the others clubs?
  6. Hi All, I'm currently using a 4-3-3 high block system in my Barcelona save. I've pretty successful so far and now into my 5th season. When I say high block, I mean: - Higher Defensive Line - Much higher line of engagement One of main issues has been dealing with teams who play with a quick forward line and look to get the ball in behind with regularity. Now while I appreciate this part of the risk you have when pushing up and trying squeeze the opposition, however I've been trying to work out the best way to nullify this threat as best as possible. A good example would be my recent Champion league exit against Man Utd. They have Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood and now Mbappe as their forwards, with the latter scoring the crucial goal to knock me out. The only things I've considered is selecting my fastest defenders for these games, however they're not really a match against these types of players. Another is to maybe tight mark and press their deep distributors, but this isn't always applicable/doable/obvious. So, has anyone got any good tweaks/strategies they employ in these situations?
  7. I think purely moving to a positive mentality would help. It should give your players more ‘creative freedom’ and have more appetite for risk. Or you can simply try adding more attacking width and playing a higher tempo. This will allow you to move the opposition around more.
  8. My manager's profile has a level of discipline of 10 and has had so for four seasons. I set it at 10, as I didn't want it too easy, with players coming with issues regarding contracts, playing time, etc.. However it's now starting to get a bit annoying... Is there anyway to improve this attribute?
  9. Is there any specific scenarios where you'd go for a 3-2-5 over a 2-3-5? I guess it give greater protection to counter attacks but you lose the numerical advantage in the midfield... Just keen to understand the logic. Ive thought about looking into a 'back three' as an attacking shape, to free up Frenkie De Jong into a more creative role at DMC - either a DLP (S) or Regista (S)
  10. Yeah - I tweak for specific games and when I use different players. I try to use as little player instructions as possible. Ask the IW (S) to hold the width on the right and IF (S) to sit narrower on the left amongst others.
  11. Any update on the 4-3-3 @Ö-zil to the Arsenal!? I've been trying to settle on an attacking shape that works best for my Barcelona's squad, following 'most' of your principles in this thread. I'm mainly focused on creating a 5x5 shape in attack, with essentially 5 'behind' the ball and 5 'ahead' of it. This is what I have so far: It created the following shape in a recent game against Malaga (Munsah playing as a CM (S) with hold position instead of DLP (S)): So far I've been romping the league. Just lost my unbeaten record last game, thanks to a 0-1 loss to Sevilla via a penalty. In the UCL I somehow just got knocked out by Bayern. Just outplayed them but they ruthlessly put away all three of their chances in the first leg (sensitive subject currently)
