Hi, FM12 remains my favourite post-CM series to date and I'm unable to play it through steam as Apple Macs do not support and run 32-bit games. I plan to buy FM12 on disc and load it on the mac (through use of an external disc drive) - but I don't want to lug around a disk drive each time I play the game. Is it possible to load the disc and burn/copy the FM12 packaged files and onto my computer? If so, how would I then retrieve the latest version of FM12 (for its time)? Cheers all!

This will have been discussed I'm sure, but couldn't find the thread on this. Basically, the viewing options during the match seem all over the place. I'm forever adjusting the size of the boxes to view as much of the info as possible, but it means sacrificing a view elsewhere. For example, I want to see 'General' info for my team rather than 'Basic'. If you stretch out the box, it means the formation view of each team is squashed and difficult to view. The most iritating aspect is, as soon as you make a change, it auto continues your game. I'm there trying to configure a set-up and each change I make, it automatically continues the match. Is there a way to remove some of these views? For a bonus question, how on earth do I view highlights that are not goals? In older versions of FM, you'd have a progress bar along the top and you'd just click on whatever highlight was shown. I know I WILL be at fault here and I am not seeing the answer for myself - however, please help!

Juan Mata is playable for me (at United) and has also completed a full transfer to Galatasary despite this. I'm sure this is somewhat relavant but his name is in green text. I was assuming that meant he was on loan, but he is of course not. Is this a 'bug', if so, shall I send it on to the right area?

I noticed that on the overview screen during a match, that there seems to be some sort of continue game time-out whenever I dabble with re-arranging what's on the screen. Is there an option I am missing here? The other thing I noticed and it seemed to be a one-off glitch, is that I could not watch any of my game when looking at the overview screen. I could see that the game continued and goals being scored, but I could not watch the actual game! Has happened only once thankfully.

I know this has been the case for a few FMs now, but why are there so many fake non-playing staff members now? I am finding that the vast majority of coaches are not real, no matter what filter I set out when narrowing a search. I don't like this - is this a licence issue or similar with Sports Interactive being allowed to use real people's name?

Am I allowed to ask the question within this thread, around what are the general thoughts and opinions of FM23 so far? I'd love to see a round-up of the most common opinions given both positive and negative. Thanks all!

So I just loaded FM - Selected career mode and selected the initial database (I'm playing FM22) for version 21.0. When I compare 21.0 with 22.0 (and 23.0) 21.0 does not have the hot fixes and other patch improvements that 22/23 has. How can not selecting the latest update database mean you still get the hot fixes when they're only included in that particular update? I cross-referenced the specifics to what the updates mean, besides player transfers/updating their real-life form to align with the game, the original FM version does not have those hot fixes listed. Unless you're telling me that they automatically get applied to ANY version you load, just not the transfers? That is the unclear bit for me. Which I believe has been mentioned above but I really am just double checking!

Yeah but like I said and also acknowledged, selecting an update version will not give me what I want for both: Non-transfer AND patch update. if you select original version for example, that’s gonna give me 50% of what I’m after (no new players signed/full transfer kitty) but if I select updated patch it’s gonna give me the updated patch/hot fix but also up to date player transfers thus using up my transfer kitty. I know because I’ve tested it on each game they release.

When you download the latest update and start a new game, it often means a player update element. I would like to be able to have every element of the update, but to select the option to not have transfer updates when loading a new game. Reason I ask this, is because your transfer budget is all but used up when you start in July and it also means you haven't got quite the squad you'd have chosen otherwise. I know I could just not select the latest update, but as mentioned, I still want any hot fixes applied etc.

I’ve recently downloaded 01/02 - it’s been about 20 years since playing it and I’ve definitely forgotten what the hell I’m doing on that game. I’m quite sure I won more or less every game and scored at least 3 goals a game. And I’m sure 4-4-2 or 4-3-2-1 basically won you matches? so why is it I’m bloody awful now? I’m managing Man Utd and have made a few of the classic signings. West, Bonera and Placente to bolster the defence (I’ve not bothered with the patch so Rio isn’t signed) Ive also signed Kerr. Ruud is of course a beast on that game but alas - I’m struggling to win games and have lost a fair few. Tactical tweaks are minimal on the game so I’ve tried different variations of tactic. What general tactics did you create?
