GERNIKA (SPAIN) OCTOBER 2025 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS The wheels came off a bit this month as we only won one of the games in the league and lost two of them. We are still well placed when it comes to the league and relegation this season is looking remote, which really was the goal of the season. I do hope we can recover in the coming months so that we can maintain what so far has been a promotion push.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) SEPTEMBER 2025 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS We are absolutely flying at the moment, we just keeping winning game after game and it is putting us in a great position to the point where we can probably start thinking away from a relegation battle although that is still very much a possibility if results take a turn for the worst. Bacharach continues to be the standout player, he is the top goalscorer from defensive midfield of all places and seems to be dragging us through the games at the moment.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) AUGUST 2025 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS We couldn't have dreamt of a better start to the season as we picked up four wins and a loss from the opening five games. That could be very important come the end of the season if things start to turn against us as the season wears on. A great start for the team and we find ourselves up in 3rd place at this early stage of the season. So far it has been two of the new signings in Hugo Bacharach and Edu Viana who have put in the best performances for us, averaging a 7.46 so far this season.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) END OF JUNE & JULY 2025 STADIUMS TRANSFERS LEAGUE PREDICTION RESULTS MANAGER THOUGHTS We came into the pre-season needing reinforcements, and we missed out on quite a few targets, but in the end we got in players that should improve the team. Whether they will improve it enough to survive in this division is another question. The bookmakers don't seem to think it will be enough considering we are ranked bottom of the league not counting the B sides for larger sides which don't get any odds. There are four relegation places so I think it will be very tough to keep us up this season but we will try. We signed a new one year deal, we did it pretty early on as there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of jobs available at the moment that would seem like progress to us. It might mean we are easier to sack, but it's just a risk that I would be willing to take. In terms of the friendlies they have gone very well so far, it seems like the team has adapted well with the new personnel and all we can hope for is that that is able to continue.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) END OF SEASON UPDATE MANAGER THOUGHTS A great season comes to an end and our reputation is growing. Whether we will be a Gernika for the start of next season is still very much a question without a conclusion, but if we get to the end of July and there isn't much movement in the manager market then we will likely sign a new deal at the club. The club is slowly growing with new fans being attracted to us so that is all positive.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) JUNE 2025 CONTACTS SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS Well we managed to do it. We will be playing the Second Division next season. We were pretty brilliant in the promotion playoffs beating Cordoba handily with the first leg being the key an then beating Teruel over two legs to secure promotion. We were offered a new contract prior to the playoffs and there were two reasons why we didn't renew it, firstly I think the manager would think they were trying to secure our signature at a lower price, and secondly there has been some outside interest. Our contract does expire at the end of the year, so we will probably move onto a rolling contact for a while and see if there are better suitors out there and then if not before the new season starts we will sign a new deal with the club.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) MAY 2025 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS Our playoff appearance is assured. We have one more game in the league season to go and then we will be in the playoffs. It has been a great achievement for us considering there was an expectation that we would probably be relegated to do so well this season. We are assured of a 2nd place finish this season, whether that will mean promotion is still to be decided.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) APRIL 2025 SQUAD MANGER THOUGHTS With four games to go of the league season it is looking like a certainty that we will be around for the playoffs. It was a perfect month for us as we took three wins from three. Barca Atleti also confirmed themselves as champions this month, they deserve it as they absolutely blew the league away and lead us by 20 points.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) MARCH 2025 SQUAD JOB OFFERS MANAGER THOUGHTS A good month for us on the pitch as we managed to keep ourselves going in the playoff picture, we even managed to inflict the first defeat of the season on Barca Atleti which was a great achievement considering the kind of pace they have been setting this season. In terms of our career, we will not be the new manager of Gent as they passed up on us to give the job to Frederik Vanderbiest, so we will have to wait for our first move. Still it's nice to be linked with larger clubs like Gent only two seasons into our career.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) FEBRUARY 2025 SQUAD JOB OFFERS MANAGER THOUGHTS We continue to keep pace with the promotion hopefuls and it has been a brilliant season for us so far. We just need to take the final steps and assure ourselves a spot and then it just comes down to one off games. The big news was that our exploits have finally got us on the radar of a club that Juan would be willing to move to and that was not Spain but in Belgium. Gent a pretty big side in the country are interested. We have attended the interview and we will see if we end up being first choice one their process ends.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) JANUARY 2025 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS We continue to battle in the league and we continue to hang on to the final playoff spot and it continues to be very tight at the top of the table, Barca Atleti excepted from that as they are walking away with the league and remain unbeaten. In the cup we gave Valencia a very uncomfortable 120 minutes, and they only just got past us with an extra time goal which is a credit to the side.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) DECEMBER 2024 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS A nice couple of wins to start the month in the league before we lost the final league game. It still keeps us in promotion playoff area of the league table which is great for us. We also managed to get through in the First Round of the Copa del Rey and we will face a massive test in the next round as we will host Valencia. In terms of the squad the best performers are probably Asier Parra and Angel Garcia at the moment for the side. Parra was pivotal in both our wins in the league and the win in the cup and won man of the match awards in those games.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) NOVEMBER 2024 SQUAD JOB OFFERS MANAGER THOUGHTS A really tough month for us as we managed to improve defensively but found it very tough to get goals at the other end. The results keep us in the promotion hunt for now and we are now 11 points clear of the relegation places so that is all positive. In other news we had an interview offer from Ibiza, but they are from the division below, and based on the personality of the manager there would be no upside in his mind to move to them.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) OCTOBER 2024 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS We had a much tougher month in October as we suffered our first defeats of the campaign. The win at the end of the month was much needed otherwise it was looking a little bleak. In fairness we are still very well placed at the moment as we sit fourth in the league and things are still looking very positive. In terms of the squad, we have picked up a few injuries to a few key players but it is manageable. Ortiz now has seven goals and Garcia leads the assist charts despite the injury he has picked up.

GERNIKA (SPAIN) SEPTEMBER 2024 SQUAD MANAGER THOUGHTS It has been a great month for us as we remain undefeated in the league. Barcalona Atleti will likely walk away with this league at least if the early going is any indication of things to come but I am very proud to see us in second place. We have had some very impressive wins beating Real Union away 6-0 and Tarazona 5-1 at home, it's great to see. So far when it comes to the team Jorge Ortiz who came in at the end of last season has settled well and has six goals in 8 appearances to his name. Angel Garcia has also been very impressive from the left back spot, getting five assists in 8 games, he looks to be the creative force behind the team at the moment. We are already doing fanstastically well. We aren't safe yet but another month like this and we can start to perhaps consider further targets for the season.
