  1. Season Review 2032/2033 It has been another campaign of ups and downs but we keep progressing! Premier League While we finished one position lower than last season's 5th place finish, we have 4 more points and there is a sign of progress. Notwithstanding, the quality of our squad is still a level below the Champions League-quality teams and the recruitment team will strive to strengthen the playing staff further in the upcoming summer. Champions League The boys did well to progress to the Play Off Round, where we were knocked out by a solitary goal against a stronger and richer Chelsea outfit. While we did not manage to secure Champions League football next year, we have gained valuable experience in our maiden campaign which will do us well when we play at Europe's elite level again \o/ FA Cup Jansen was so close to lifting his first ever FA Cup but the lads fell short in the final, losing to Premier League winners Man United after a 119th-minute own goal. That was really painful Carabao Cup We couldn't be any unluckier with the Carabao Cup draw as we fell to an inevitable 1-2 defeat against the unnecessarily rich Man City. The Finances We keep growing! But why did our broadcast revenue and match day commercial and retail drop despite us playing in the Champions League for the first time ever? How You Lined Up The boys who are no longer Champions League virgins
  2. Key Signings for Champions League Our scouting team is getting a pay raise for spotting a player of Hugo Arce's quality during the second half of last season, and Jansen snapped him up after the January transfer window ended with little competition. The Argentinian is one of the best right-back of his generation and we are keeping our fingers-crossed that we can have his services for the rest of his career. All of that for just 7 million pounds! Two is better than one as our scouting team found another gem who was available on a loan deal during the summer. Johnny Bedini is an Englishman who graduated from Juventus' academy and found himself plying his trade in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig. He got home-sick and we swooped him in a loan deal with little hesitation. He bags the number 8 shirt immediately and will play on the right side of our midfield 3 in the Box To Box Midfielder role \o/ Playing on the opposite side of the field is another Argentinian who was brought in from Man City this summer. Federico Corbisiero is a versatile left-footed player who has the potential to bring fans into the stadium with his flair, agility and balance on the ball. He will play in the left-sided no. 8 position in the Mezzala role!
  3. Cheers mate! It has been an eventful summer to say the least
  4. Season Review 2031/2032 Campione, campione olé olé ole.. campione, campione olé olé ole! English Premier League Progress is key and we managed exactly that, finishing 2 places higher than our last year's position among the European places. It was a challenge navigating both the Premier and Europa Leagues with a squad who is only playing at the top tier for the 2nd time, especially during the business end, but it was well worth it as we secured Champions League football for the 1st time \o/ Les grandes équipes.. the championsssss! FA Cup We were knocked out at the first time of asking but it was no surprise as Jansen chose to play with his third-choice eleven in the return leg against Premier League Champions Man United. We chose to rest our 1st and 2nd choice players for the Prem and Europe, and it was a decision which paid off eventually Carabao Cup It was always going to be a tall task facing the cash rich blue boys from London without our first eleven as we fell to a Fourth Round 0-2 defeat. Europa League The boys have done it!! We bagged the Europa League during the club's 1st foray into Europe, and it was such a satisfying run. We also won it the best way possible, scoring right at the end of extra-time to beat RB Leipzig to the trophy. It's by far Jansen biggest achievement of his tenure but I heard that he's not satisfied and can't wait to go on to bigger and better things The Finances Let's keep getting richer! How You Lined Up The Europa League Winners :**) Player of the Year Omari Kellyman started with sporadic game time down our right but ended the campaign as our 1st-choice number 9 as he led the line so well for us. He's not your regular goal scorer but presses so well upfront and sets the tempo for the team. He also brings his team-mates into play very capably and managed to bag 10 assists in addition to his solid 14 goals. The all-rounded frontman is Jansen's Player of the Year! \o/
  5. Summer 2031 This summer was definitely more fun than the last, as we realised young prospects were willing to consider us as an option, notwithstanding the fact that they were only treating us as a stepping stone. Fares Blaise was with us on loan last campaign and managed to impress the backroom staff so much that we spent 6.25 million pounds to make the deal permanent. His knack to run at the defence and decent ability to put the ball in the back of the net will go a long way to help us navigate a very busy season with Europa League football. The Frenchman with the best hair will compete with.. ..Waynedel Frank for game time upfront, whom we still can't believe Everton was willing to let him go on a free. The Englishman has a very similar profile to Fares and it was a no brainer to snap him up on a free. The media even dubbed him the new Michael Owen and Jansen will be doing everything to convince him against pursuing a career in media afte this retirement The best prospect we managed to bring in this summer is a 18-year-old from Championship outfit Blackburn, and Kean Irving could be an absolutely bargain at just 12.5 million pounds. The left winger is arguably one of the best on ball and off ball 18-year-old in world football and if he can steer clear of injuries, we could have a real gem on our hands Arguably our biggest signing this summer is an all-rounded left-footed attacker who can play at a high level both down the right and upfront. Omari Kellyman has great pace, strikes the ball so cleanly and is very composed in front of goal. We have high hopes he can score the goals to propel us up the table this campaign \o/
  6. A very pleasant surprise all thanks to Brighton for winning the Europa League
  7. Season Review 2030/2031 We are going on an European tour! Premier League The squad put together by Jansen competed so well in the number one league in the world, and the lads showed that they belong at this level by grabbing 7th place in our maiden campaign ahead of the blue billion pound bottlejobs FA Cup The boys also managed to reach the fifth round of the world's oldest cup competition, where we were knocked out by Champions League outfit Newcastle on penalties after a goal-less draw. There's nothing shameful about that, especially when we played our second string throughout the competition. We go again.. with our second string Carabao Cup We didn't do too well in the Carbao Cup though as we suffered a second round home defeat against Reading after losing the penalty shootout. We are definitely bad at penalties!! Goal of the Season This wasn't the official goal of the season but we all know it was rigged The Finances Things must be going really well financially and you will see why by the end of this update How You Lined Up The Premier League quality players
  8. Where we belong? The lads have been absolutely brilliant in their maiden season in Europe's richest league \o/ Despite having to deal with the lowest wage budget by a mile, Jansen managed to assemble a squad with 30 million pounds and loads of loan signings to compete competently at the highest level. The Angels are flying in 7th and we are loving life in the limelight! Player of Mid-Season Our best performer by a distance is Lukáš Ambros, who cost us just 56k pounds from Czech First Division's Bohemians 1905. Despite having no world-beating skill, his all-rounded game and consistency has yielded us 7 goals and 5 assists from midfield, and we would be nowhere near where we are without the Czech magician. Long may it continue!
  9. Shola Shoretire just scored the best goal ever
  10. Signings for Survival We did not have a keeper who is good enough for the Prem and thankfully, a player of Coniah Boyce-Clarke's quality was available on a free. The Englishman is competent aerially in the box and has decent shot-stopping ability. In our maiden campaign in English's top flight, we will definitely need a big season from the big goalie if we want to maintain our Premier League status. Unfortunately, the center-backs who helped us to promotion last campaign lacked Premier League quality. We had to splash the cash on Jarell Quansah, who was the best right-sided central defender who was willing to join us in our desperate attempt for Prem survival. The Liverpool academy graduate is fantastic in the air and he will be vital in both boxes at set-pieces for us. He will be partnered by.. ..Luizão, who doesn't look impressive in any area of his game but our scouts strongly recommended him for his consistency and knack for shining in big games. Like Luizao, Billal Brahimi has no game-changing attribute but Jansen signed him based on our scout's assessment that he can put in 6-7s in most games. The Algerian will go straight into our staring 11 as our budget Salah/Saka. Last but not certainly least.. We have signed Bellingham! It's Jobe Bellingham though as there is absolutely no way his brother will be willing to trade Santiago Bernabéu for the Tonbridge Stadium. The younger brother is too good for the Championship and we are hoping that he can make the step up to do a job for us in the Premier League
  11. Season Review 2025/2026 The boys have done it!! :**) Sky Bet Championship We finished 2nd in our promotion-winning season behind Norwich who was relegated from the Prem last campaign, but is still far too good for this league. It is an amazing feat by the players as Norwich's wage budget is 13 times ours and we sit rock bottom in the league in terms of wage budget. We are going up say we are going up! FA Cup We played our third string in the FA Cup as the tie was right after the busiest period of our season. To no one's surprise, we were knocked out convincingly at the first hurdle. Not that we care though! Carabao Cup We went a bit further in the Carabao Cup as our second string finally fell to a Premier League opposition in a narrow 0-1 home defeat. The Finances I really don't understand how finances work sometimes. How can there be red arrows everywhere when this is by far our best performing season? Surely green arrows await us next campaign? How You Lined Up The best 11 Jansen ever had \o/ Player of the Year 12 goals and 3 assists from the no. 8 position in just 30 starts. Need I say more? Harvey White is without a shadow of a doubt our player of the season!! With budgets like these, the upcoming summer is exciting yet scary to say the least
  12. I don't think I've seen this before on FM ever
  13. 3 Key Signings for our 3rd Try Mikael Bongili Cleevely (MBC) is an incredible find by our scouting team and it was a pleasant surprise that we were able to work out a loan deal with Southampton for the speedy winger. Jansen brought him in to provide more thrust and quality down our right flank. Will MBC turn out to be our Salah or Anthony? We shall see We focused our efforts on raising the quality of our wide players and Alan Virginius is a definite upgrade on our options down the left wing. The Frenchman has decent technique and pace, and fits our inverted winger position to a tee. However, he will need to get the better of.. ..Shola Shoretire, whose career hasn't quite turned out many has expected it to be. The Man United academy graduate has had opportunities at Wrexham, Fulham, Barnsley and Blackpool but didn't quite find a home to show his qualities. Everyone at the club has high hopes that this can be the move that finally propels his career into the limelight
  14. Season Review 2028/2029 So near yet so far.. Sky Bet Championship We started hot and ended the season cold as we fell out of the automatic promotion places by goal difference. Jansen simply couldn't keep up with the relegated Premier League sides with the lowest budgets by a distance in the league, and Leeds basically sealed the title when they splashed 33.5 million pounds to add Adam Idah in January. Incredible timely injuries to our entire left flank right before the play-off semis didn't help things as we failed to reach the promised land. Notwithstanding, it has been a season of considerable progress and we go again next year! FA Cup We were so unlucky with the FA Cup draws and faced two Prem clubs at the first two hurdles. Our second string managed once-in-a-lifetime performances as we caused a big upset in the Third Round against Brighton. It was business as usual as we fell to a 1-2 home defeat against a decent Bournemouth outfit. Carabao Cup It's bloody Leeds again as they knocked us out right away as we entered the competition in the first round Goal of the Season Our best goal of the year was scored by our new right-back after a pacy run and a smashing finishing at the end of an opposition's goal kick \o/ The Finances We keep growing! How You Lined Up The heroes who got us so near to the promised land
  15. Cheers mate! That’s surprising to me as Vertical Tiki-Taka has been the most consistent tactic for me in the last couple of years! Maybe you need to give the tactic some time to cook! I always use attacking mentality at home and balanced away! I will also go attacking in the last ten minutes if I’m down and park the bus in the last ten if I’m up by a single goal away from home! This approach should yield you solid results!
