  1. Season Updates 8 to 10 Season 8 - 2030/2031: Finished 5th (media expectation 11th) and 6th round in Turkish Cup. Delighted to have a chance to get back into Europe, but have to start in round 1 of qualifiers in the next season. As we were missing our star forward for most of the campaign due to his knee injury from the end of last season, I was really happy to see us get comfortably into fifth. Even played entire u17 team for the last few games to give them some experience since we had cemented 5th. Urhan has continue to score goals for me and stepped up with the loss of Ali early in the campaign. Youth Intake: A 4.5 star intake with Akar Sevgi being the standout player and was moved straight into the first team, sadly I forgot to take a snip of him at the time but will show him later on. Transfers: Sold my starting left back for 8.5m rising to 11m with a 50% next sale profit. He had a 9m release clause, so was pretty delighted with this, and left back was a spot where I felt comfortable with another regen looking good for the role. Season 9 - 2031/2032: Finished 4th (media expectation 9th) and lost to Besiktas is the cup final. Made it to the 4th round of qualifiers but was well beaten over two legs by Valencia, i had thought my 4th place finish would see me automatically in the group stage of the Euopa League, but nope. Back in the 1st round qualifiers again! Still feels like there is a big gap with us and the big three, with their wage bills still being 10 times + mine. Including a 6-0 home defeat to Besiktas this season. Star man Ali won the NextGen, Turkish Super League top scorer, and European Golden Boy - have included a snip at 18 below. However he still has no interest in remaining at the club and is rightly saying he is too good for us. Youth Intake: Another 4.5 star intake with a standout goalkeeper being the main callout - I had been hoping for a goalkeeper in each of the last 3 or 4 intakes as I still have been playing with the same GK since starting out this save 9 seasons ago. Transfers: Had to sell star man Cagri Akgul as he refused to sign a new deal, and then moved to Saudi Arabia for potentially 12.25m, I was trying to the very end to get him to resign but he just had no interest and is a massive loss to the team having twice come 1st in NextGen. Season 10 - 2032/2033: Finished 3rd (media expectation 6th) and reached semi final in the cup. Had a fantastic run in the Europa League going all the way from the 1st qualifiers to the quarter final where we lost to Lazio on penalties First time in the league we have surpassed any of the big three and despite losing key players last summer the general quality of the squad is looking really competitive. Youth Intake: Another 4.5 star intake with a a few wingers and a CB who looks really good but has a Fickle personality. The CB will likely be an important player in the coming years as its an area which we look light on quality. Transfers: My best player to date Ali U left with only one year remaining on his contract- sold to Porto for 16m and 50% profit of next sale. Was happy to not having to sell him to one of the Turkish giants at least, and will go down as by far our best player to date. In his first season with Porto he scored 22 league goals but seems to have fallen away a little since. 2nd sale was Niyasi who was a good player but the money was too good to turn down for a player who would have been out of the starting 11 within the next few months. Summary Table:
  2. Turkish Super League: Update for Seasons 4 to 7 Season 27/28 - Finished 5th (media expected 18th). Reached semi final in Cup. Youth intake was amazing with 8 "5 star" potential players, but quite poor personalities for most. 3 players have become important first team players in recent years (Camurdas, Kocak, E Yasa). Had thought Gedik was the real star of the intake but didn't amount to much. Gala went into Administration, with over 200m in debts, sadly they seemed to come out of it within a few days and still had highest wage bill and continued to dominate the league! Sold 1 non-regen defender for 2.2m which felt like great value and helped keep finances from getting too deep in the red. Season 28/29 - Finished 9th (media expectation was 16th). Cup sixth round. Europa League lost to Atalanta in qualifiers. So generally not the best season vs my own expectation. Youth Intake..... THE BEST PLAYER I may have ever had out of youth intake in 1'000s of hours playing FM. Ali Uckan was my best player from the day he arrived as a 15 year old, and instantly showed it on the pitch. Season 29/30 - Finished 6th (media expectation was 12th). Cup fifth round. No Europe. An improvement but had hoped to get back into EL. We had been flying early on but numerous injuries including my amazing star 16 year old Ali Uckan injuring his cruciate , leading to me lose the last 4 league games. Ali also considers himself too good for the club and has basically wanted to leave since he was 15! (thank god for 3 year optional club extension) Youth Intake..... While its 2.5 stars, at least a few squad players will come from it with Ackay and Kera both rotational options in the team now. I had the top 2 in the NextGen awards with Ali Uckan coming 2nd to C Akgul who also wants to leave at this point for a better standard. Sold my original star CM and captain for 4.7m as he wouldn't sign a new contract with wage restrictions at the club, felt it was money considering and can help me get some improvements off the board. Career so far
  3. Season 3 review (first in top Turkish league) Turkish Super League - Expected finish 18th (out of 18). Actual finish of 13th, 11 points out of drop zone. Continuously strong results against the other bad teams in the division and some home draws against better teams meant we finished comfortably out of the drop zone in the end. Did take some heavy beatings, including a 5-0 and 7-0 but to be expected against the really big teams I think. Surprisingly (to me at least) there are some really crap teams at the bottom end of this division, and even with my team that has more than 50% of the starting 11 belonging in the third tier we are not significantly worse than the other bottom half teams. For example, there are three other teams in the division for the new season which have the same/similar wage budget to ours, meanwhile Galatasaray have 16 players who earn more than my whole squad as individuals with Zaniolo earning 4 times my whole squad and staff weekly wage alone! Cup (expected to be competitive) - went out in the same round we entered, played the back up kids losing 1-0 New season expectations (attempt to avoid relegation) - I expect to be able to finish mid table, with our head to heads vs the other lesser teams being key. Already played 4 league games, winning three against afore mentioned bottom half teams and losing one badly to Fener so off to a great start. Finances - Currently Minus 3M, expected to increase to Minus 5.5M by the end of the season. We make 5.4m a year between TV, prize money and tickets, with youth costs (4m) & ground maint of (1.4m) offsetting this, before wages and other costs come into play. I expect I'll have to sell one of my better youth players with my best DM attracting interest from the top Turkish teams. Facilities - not expecting any improvements due to the financial situation unless I sell players or get a cash injection from somewhere. Challenges ahead - starting GK will miss next 8 or so league games with an injury, with my backup GK being absolutely useless and getting worse by the day as can be seen below. Still facing mutinies over the lack of depth at certain positions and I fear I might lose some of the 4 non regen players in starting 11 due to release clauses in contracts, especially my main GK. League table Starting team Transfers Youth intake - 9 total 5 star PA players (a damning indictment of my squad's quality!), with the AML going straight into my starting 11. Was very excited to see the GK appear, but he has a "low self belief" personality with Outspoken, and also low determination. Expect both CD's to get some action if any injuries occur. Our 16 year old right back, with 42 career appearances already and highest value player by a mile. Our DM who is attracting big interest for transfer
  4. Fair play for surviving the move back to Semi Pro, and thats great money for a TV deal for a second tier league to get you maxed out facilities
  5. Fair play, I will have a look at the FM20 page as it sounds like one serious journey!
  6. Congrats on staying up how are your finances looking, as I imagine with such good youth coaching & recruitment you are spending a lot on those?
  7. Best of luck, I have just started this challenge as well as its challenging but really fun
  8. Just noticed this in the list of honours on the front page, can't even imagine the amount of in game time this took!
  9. And now straight back down to earth, my 15 year old right back got a solid 5.4 match rating. My keeper also managed to concede a goal from an opposition direct free kick from 70 metres out to solidify his own 5.5 rating.
  10. Always love these results against the bigger teams! completely undeserved of course
  11. Season 2 Batman Review Turkish 1. League (Media prediction 20th) - Finished 1st. I really had no idea what the standard change would be, and it really appears as if there isn't that much gap at all between 2. League and 1. League in game. Despite the media prediction, we were comfortable playing front foot 433 and having heavy involvement from our youth players. Cup - Out in first round I entered in, losing in extra time with a heavily rotated team Youth intake - Polar opposite of Year 1 with players who look like they have big futures in our team, with a RB that will be starting next season at just 15 years old Finances - No prize money it seems in Turkish 1.League leaving me well in red at €1.14m, with "Youth setup" costing €934k and ground maint. costing €853k being the biggest drains. We get 3-4k attendance with tickets only €2 so see little revenue incoming. Next season expectations - Attempt to avoid relegation. Will be a huge challenge but am going to try and play attacking football and get results against teams who will leave themselves too open. Our weekly wage will be 25k vs the other league lowest of 65k , which doesn't feel like that big of a gap all things considered. At least I am hoping it helps our financial state being in the top league. Transfers and facilities: Youth candidates and my new Right back
  12. Hi all, A few questions on return transfers for this challenge: Can I re-sign players who have left my club since I started. For example, at my save in Turkey my board sold a player a few months into save who is now available on the cheap. Can I bring him back? Longer term query, if I sell a regen from my youth intakes who joined since I started the save can I re-sign him? Thanks in advance!
  13. Season 1 Review in Turkey Really enjoying the save so far, and the season is so quick when not spending anytime on scouting / trialling endless players. Frequent player mutinies over lack of squad depth at the back, and losing my star player to a board accepted transfer have been the main challenges but in general for a newly promoted team we had 18 players and some of a really good standard for the division. A 34 game season with a game just every Sunday makes this a lot easier I think that people starting in England in this forum for example. League (media expectation 4th, board expect to be in playoffs) - Finished 1st. Not familiar with Turkish leagues so will be interesting to see how we compare a division up in Turkish 1.League. Cup (be competitive, enter in 3rd round) - 4th round exit, hammered 4 - 1 by Premier division side where our goal was an O.G. from the half way line!. Youth Intake - no superstars, but two players with around 1star CA and 4 star CA which will be used as part of squad. One decent youth already in squad from the previous season played in 23 games for me and is still 16. Next season expectations - not announced yet but assume it will be fight bravely against relegation. Facilities: small improvements to youth recruitment & junior coaching during the season. Current financial balance is -200k, so not expecting any facility upgrades in the immediate future. League Table Best players, first screenshot is my star man who was sold by the board earlier in the season GK CB Striker Winger Youth intake (Cihan already at club from initial season youth intake)
