  1. Although I read that sports injuries are falling IRL, I agree there are not enough injuries in the game. My sports scientist always tell me that "injuries rate is decreased by XX%", but I often top the injury table, so it's very specific to my team / tactics / players / coaches / training.
  2. They're not the fittest athletes in the history of football, but they're all professional (personality), have no recurring injuries (except for Danilo) and, as I wrote, the whole thing escalated after the latest update. When I first came up with these instructions, I had started a career with the update where Juve had 15 points deducted and we had an almost perfect start of the season, something like 13 W and 1 D. I liked my tactics also because my matches were fun to watch and the team was fun to manage: they reacted to my shouts and tactical variations, they won the matches they were supposed to win with little effort, they lost the matches they were supposed to lose (CL against Man City, IIRC) with little drama, they gave their everything against rival teams... Then I saw another update, saw that Juve had no points deducted, started a new career, did the exact same things, and it all went to hell... multiple times...
  3. I started a bunch of saves with Juventus, using different tactics, always balanced mentality and fluid/very fluid shape, trying to fit tactics to the PPM's (e.g., both Cuadrado and Danilo have the "cuts inside" PPM, don't hold position and act like a sort of "wide deep lying playmaker", so I use them as FB Support + take more risks + get further forward.) During pre-season, I always opt for a heavy training and play 4-5 friendlies, once a week. During the season, I tend to follow my assistant's advice, unless I have specific reasons to do otherwise. As for coaching categories, I have them all covered by at least two coaches (= low workload) with 4+ stars on each category. I add or remove a couple of instructions depending on the opponents (e.g. trap outside yes/no, block crosses yes/no). I didn't have so many problems until the last update; since then, I got an average of one match injury, every single match. If I'm lucky, they're minor injuries, but for instance in one save (that I immediately trashed!) I got Kostic out for 4 months after the first friendly and Cuadrado out for 2 months after the second. Match injuries usually involve wide players. The (not-so) occasional training injuries are a bit more balanced, but for instance I don't remember having injured central defenders, despite the fact that they end every match with very poor condition. The intensity level is in the reddish area, but it isn't comparable to that of gegenpress or of any of the more attacking mentalities. "Stay on feet" and "slow pace down" (GK instruction) don't seem to make any difference, I mean, they reduce intensity but not injuries. Any suggestions?
  4. Uploaded the files Juve_1.fm and Juve_2.fm to the cloud, before and after Bonucci agreed to sign a new contract (2024 ---> 2023, and a smaller wage).
  5. Is it me or the newest update is extremely punishing if you want to rotate the team and/or use players lacking match sharpness? Two random examples: - I’m the best team of the league, I’m playing against a team on a seemingly endless losing streak, we’re 2-0 up and my opponents are “lacking confidence”. I decide to give some playing time to a central defender returning from an injury (red thumb down icon). It’s the 80th minute. In five minutes, they score two… - Champion’s League match, I’m first and already qualified as first; I decide to rotate the squad, changing 8 or 9 players. I’m expecting a defeat, but not a 9-1 loss! The first three goals, all in the first ten minutes of the game, are like the same highlight played over and over: cross from the byline, directly toward the keeper who, instead of blocking the ball or at least punching it away, just watches it flying over his head. I never, ever saw something like this, let alone three times in the same game. The most blatant case of match fixing in the history of football! Of course, all my touchline shouts and team talks don't make any difference except changing the icons from red to green to yellow and red again... Side note: I’m currently running three parallel saves (same team, same tactics) – in one of them I sold an important player (a midfielder) and didn’t replace it. I, of course, was expecting some bad stuff happening, but the way the game is telling me “you’re an idiot” is to go back to the good old days of superkeepers and crazy strikers (FM 10?, 11?) Basically, there’s no visible drop in my performances, if anything, I think my xGs ratio is even better, it’s just that I miss the easiest chances and concede the most stupid goals. Every. Single. Match.
  6. So, apparently my board force me to offer only 1-year contracts to 32+ years old players. Which is okay, I guess, but I find it weird that my players are willing to accept 1-year contract renewals even when their contracts expire in 2 or more years. e.g. Bonucci is on a two-year contract (expires in 2024) worth 12 million/per year, but he accepts a lower wage (11 million/per year) and a contract that expires in June 2023? Ditto for Szczęsny who is, btw, a 32 years old goalkeeper so he's definitely not "old". A bunch of 32+ y.o. players whose contract is expiring in June 2023 simply accept a new contract expiring in... June 2023. While I understand the reasoning (altough it took me some time to realize what was going on) I think the agent should refuse a new contract offer when it's clearly not in the interest of his client. He could simply say: "I understand that, due to the board's limitation, you can't offer me a decent deal at the current time, let's meet again in one year and see if anything's changed."
  7. It was the UCL. Unfortunately, I don't have a save.
  8. In the attached screenshot, after 5 games out of 6 in the group stages, the Italian team (my team) will play against the French team next. The German team will play against the Portuguese team. I don't see how the Italian team can finish third, which means of course, they are qualified for the next stages. Yet, there is no Q next to the Italian team, and of course no news item and no possible congratulatory speech after the match I just won against the Portuguese team. It looks like the game thinks that both the German team and the Portuguese one can win against each other in the same match?
  9. Since it has this weird English /Italian mix: collaboratore tecnico = coach allenatore in seconda = assistant manager So, I should see B team assistant manager (allenatore in seconda squadra B) on that list.
  10. As you see, in staff --> responsibilities --> tactics --> provides team selection advice you can't select B (U20, U18...) assistant manager. All my youth teams have dedicated assistant managers. The list you see is complete, of course it changes if I select U20 or U18, but then again, I can't pick the corresponding assistant manager. I think something similar happened in FM22, but only if you didn't have (or sacked) an assistant. When you hired a new one, he didn't appear on the list.
  11. Yes. One way to improve things could be a simple "phone call" from the agent: "you know, perhaps we made a mistake refusing your offer, so if you're still interested we're willing to accept a lower wage..." Ditto for contract renewals: "Apparently, all those stupid clubs and managers don't realize how gifted my client is, so, maybe we started with the wrong foot, but, you know, we are now prepared to listen to your offer with more attention..." The manager shouldn't always be the one to back down, contract negotiations IRL sometimes take months, especially for high profile players. And, if it's all about the money, the player shouldn't be too picky accepting a pay rise; if it's about something else, the player simply "isn't interested" (I don't want to play with you/your club/division/nation/league...). I understand that if you could keep all of your players and could sign everyone within your wage/transfer budget the game would be even easier than it is now. Back in the days, I remember that a lot of players "wanted a new challenge", became homesick, "wanted to move to a bigger club", "felt they had been treated unfairly", "didn't get along with teammate X" and so on. That, and some other "explanation", would probably help instill some logic in this chaos.
  12. Not really. The screenshots above show a player who's rated 5* (first screenshot) and then 4* (second screenshot) for every attacking role. It's only natural he's rated 4/5* for CF too, since it's like the sum of all attacking roles. I'm talking about a player who's rated 2* for every attacking role, support and attack, including CF(a). Is there a logical reason why he isn't rated 2* for CF(s)?
  13. I wasn't talking about a regen, but anyway: if he wasn't strong and tall enough to be a CF(s) then he wouldn't be rated 2* for target forward, right? And if he was lacking from a technical point of view, he wouldn't be rated 2* for DLP/Trequartista, etc. Conversely, Dybala, who certainly is not strong and tall enough to be a CF, has CF as his best position. Also, my young striker is rated 2* for CF(a) but he's useless as CF(s)? I understand a CF is like the ultimate striker: scores, makes assists, helps the team, etc. so he can't just be your average player. But this is also true for other roles (eg a no-nonsense fullback should be useless, if not dangerous, if played as CWB, a BWM with dreadful technical attributes can't be a playmaker, a GK with no passing and vision can't be a sweeper keeper, etc.) whereas the game seems to be particularly picky only for this particular role and, apparently, the rating for this role are not based purely on the player's attributes.
  14. My GK is a sweeper keeper (support), my striker is PF(a) or CF(a). Team instructions: play out of defence, slow pace down, distribute to full backs. I wouldn't say "it happens a lot", but I see the occasional highlight showing my 'keeper kicking the ball long for no reason.
  15. My young striker Kaio Jorge is rated 2* for every attacking position except CF(s) where he's rated 4 gray stars for no apparent reason. I actually saw this happening a lot for young / low reputation players, so there must be something going on other than attributes.
