  1. Closing this thread. Hope the OP learns some manners in the meantime
  2. Sorry missed the fact you had responded. I'll have to dig out the post itselt, but i would say the fact that i have to dig it out lends to the very problem, it should be signposted better. And i dont mean at the start, but throughout. And its something we've fed back directly to them. If something needs to be pushed back to a later release, so be it, but let people know.
  3. This also wasnt the last update either. There was a march update. And they also did say they would finish updating this ME earlier at the start of FM24. It shouldn't have been a surprise
  4. Look at 24.2 update patch notes. They are not cosmetic https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/580614-major-update-242-for-football-manager-2024-now-live/
  5. They did the exact same thing last year. Its less to do with Unity and a lot more to do with looking to work on the next match engine iteration. And the changes to this match engine this season havent been only been cosmetic either.
  6. Belief isnt the same as fact though. What you're claiming in regards to ME changes is factually inaccurate. You cant have 2 different MEs with the same ME number, it quite literally breaks things (massive match divergence)
  7. This isnt true about changes not occurring when not stated. Any change to the match engine requires a new version release, which means the match engine number changes. So if the match engine number hasnt changed you can be definitively sure there has been no change to the match engine.
  8. The other thing as well is that the number of through balls per game for a team isnt that high - having gone through the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Eredivsie, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Portugal Liga, the highest is 3 through balls per game, and majority of teams in each of those leagues (it varies slightly) are hitting 1 per game. Central play could do with a slight more focus but the number of threaded passes isnt all that high, so any tweak should be slight
  9. Agreed, with you on this that it should only receive tweaking around retention, and very slight tuning in aggression
  10. Haha i have something very similar except i havent used a libero, use two BPs. Interested to hear your Libero thoughts
  11. Yep, excellent post. A few of us have been trying to say this for a while, but ultimately some of those who it would benefit most often get the most annoyed. This is where I'm also going to come back to @Jack Joyce Going into FM25 i think we need a glossary of FM terms, because as mentioned some of ways FM measures some statistics (Like OPPDA) aren't the same as real life, which makes sense as its not exactly real life. But it does mean that context needs explaining more. Also think a few footballing concepts are definitely worth putting in there, like a chapter on Positional Play, and a chapter on Rest Defence, as the two go hand in hand, and as game evolves, understanding transitions will be more and more important. Almost like a bible. I dont think it should be play by play or hand holding, rather footballing concepts as delivered by FM. Maybe one to pick your brain on in another forum, but (and this is based on what i see in GD and the tactics forum only, so this might be a narrow collection of view points) i dont think enough players either grasp, or have enough footballing knowledge, or perhaps some do, but they cant easily translate what they know about football to FM. Updating the manual and adding more holistic insights might be a great way to bridge it
  12. See, posts like this are just fundamentally wrong in a lot of ways, saying non bug issues dont get listened to. Where do you think stuff like positional play came from? From concise posting about the need for more positional movement and creating better overload and work in the half spaces. From people posting that we needed a role that tucked in more in the full back position. From others wanting wingers to be really wide but still also cut. So SI took all of those various suggestions and tried to put them together because so much of it is interlinked - hence the position play we see. But these things take time, sometimes an iteration or two. Even with the F9 and rotating attackers, SI actually stated they would have liked to have added more rotations but then positional play would have missed FM24. Not only that everyone has different constructive thoughts and there are lots of them. And SI might not necessarily agree. But even if you have an constructive idea and SI agree and the devs want to go with it - taking that to a fully fledged action takes as long as a piece of string. Can be in the next patch, or might be a major thing that takes an interation or two, depending on whats being asked
  13. Ive said this for a few years, id like to see them to a more detailed road map with greater communication but I'm not convinced that it wouldn't be ruined by a sizable minority on there. And we've seen it the few times they have tried to map it ahead, the womens football thread in particular. Communication goes both ways, its not about SI simply telling people what they would like to hear
