I would assume there may have been some get togeathers to watch it at one house out of a few house family plus there would be the question of how to factor in the pub watches and the official big screen tv and cinema people too albeit the later should really have a known number surely.

That's 2500 people a hour on average and as there were 2 sides 1250 each. Thats roughly 20 people per minute on each side shuffling past. If you allow for the 20 min guard changes which is around 1/4 the total time and a bit more for the 4am cleaning session you are around 30 people per minute per side which seems faster than what i saw.

I dont see the coronation being during the football season as like today you'll need a **** load of police so would be unable to police the games so either some careful planning will be needed or they'll do it post season. Weather is perhaps a little more relaible in June than April/early May too

If you claim the Indian's and Chinese are watching in big numbers you get a good way there with them two alone.

Big question is what will the viewing figures end up at. 1 is World Cup 66 (32.4 mill) and 2 is Diana's funeral (32.1 mill) on the all time list. Diana's worldwide figure was estimated at 2-2.5 billion. Worldwide one I can see being beaten and being even with the early start for the US. National one too but prob not by a lot. If you believe the media etc there are also a load of SAS in the near area ready to act. But yes there will be a huge number of police both uniform and non uniform plus military in and out of uniform (mostly in but i bet there will be some out of uniform) on top of the secret service and Israeli lot covering there two high profile clients. I usually watch these sort of things for the spectacle and the historic oldness of the way things have always been done.
