There's no reason why people can't enjoy older versions if they can't play FM25 due to system specs. I'm still playing FM2012 - quite enjoy this version and the UI is great. I've tried 13,14,15,16 etc. but never got into them. But I keep going with FM12 because I like it.

I'm already doing that - playing FM 2012 Classic games have already been suggested over the years - bringing back classic players in some sort of mode for the game seems to be a popular idea. But not sure hoe feasible it actually is. Why stop with Ronaldo/Messi. Prime Eden Hazard, Ronaldinho, All Barcelona/Real Madrid players 1990-2010 ish Maradona, Pele, etc. But I guess it would be hard to get rights to use players images and names etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------ You can use the editor to create players - there might be some databases in the Editors Hideout.

FM is a processing game - and if you throttle the processor to lower speeds you get less from it. Is there anything else you can tell us about your needs?

Overheating would mean the fans are probably clogged. You can guy a can of air compressor and spray the fans with the air to remove the dust. In terms of what you can upgrade - likely just the RAM and the SSD - but that won't help much. You should also get a laptop cooling stand (relatively cheap). The processor is the biggest issue - not the best but should work.
