  1. You need to tell the game to set the league history for each stage These options only appear if you select the 'Store League History' option For the League stage which contains 10 teams set it as follows this will store the league history of the teams in 5th down to 10th For the Championship Playoff stage set it as follows This will set the 4 teams in the Championship playoff in those positions, but will show it based on a league with 10 teams
  2. Is there a way of stopping teams moving between inactive divisions at the same level? I have a 3 level league sytem with the 4th level being inactive and containing 6 seperte divisions. I am using these as pools from which a specificnumber of teams is being promoted each season, (4 have 2 places and 2 have 3 places) Each of these divisons has an uneven number of teams - 49,27,57,66,36,28, which gives 263 in total, the issue is at the end of the first season the game reorganises the 6 leagues to have 43 or 44 teams each to balance them out, this messes up where the teams get promoted to, meaning that the dynamic relegation I have set up doens't work properly as the wrong teams end up in each of the 3rd level leagues. I have each team with its Regional divisison set at all levels, and have tried every combination of the below options
  3. I've tried to work out how it decides who to put where and to no avail. One thing I did find is that the stadium co-ordinates are more important than the city co-ordinates, so always make sure that each stadium has co-ordinates set. There are a surprisingly large number in the database that are left blank, and an even more surprising number that are just wrong. No matter how much you try, it will always get some teams in the wrong place.
  4. Hopfully a simple one How do I stop thsi from happening? There is almost a months betwen the friendlied End Date and the first match, Ive tried numerous setting and nothing is making a difference
  5. It certainly can be done see if this attached file helps amsara 3.0.2.xml I created this to simulate the growth of a league system over 100 years If you just focus on Premier 1 and Premier 2. Premier 1 started in 2020 and premier 2 started in 2030, so for the first 10 years there was only 1 level. To do this you require multiple versions of each level and set what years they are to run. So for 2020-2029 Premier 1 was as follows With no relegation In 2030 there is a different version that includes relegation to Premier 2 Thats the easy bit to set up. As for Premier 2 you need to create a version that exists even before the league is to start being played (this should actually say the year 2028 not 2029) But you have to set it up to have no stages I have an additional transition season in 2029 that is identical to the above, but it randomly add the teams to Premier 2 for the following season from a team pool. This Is not required, you can just populate the league as you wish Then in 2030 there is a version with Premier 2 including Stages so it becomes an active and playable league This file was me just seeing what i could do with the editor, if you dig thorough the other leagues being added at later dates it becomes more complex, but the addition of Premier 2 was the simpelist
  6. I would say that trying to move the USA and Canada to Europe is one of the more complicated tasks. I did have a go in FM21, it was semi-successful, this method wont work in FM23 due to the changes in UEFA and AFC but as with all editing of existing competition it becomes tricky. The main one here is the connection between the CONCACAF competitions and the MLS, unlike how UEFA competitions are coded, the CONCACAF ones pull directly from the national competitions. So no matter what continent the USA is in the game will stick the teams in the CONCACAF club competitions. And that's not even mentioning the issues with editing UEFA that are widely discussed on this forum.
  7. You could say my title is a bit misleading, the file DOES work, but its DOES NOT work correctly. Kazakhstan get moved over, and a new nation plays in Europe no problem. But it results in a random Asian team missing out in the World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifiers because it is drawing 22 teams out of a pool of now 23 in round 1. This was what i was always trying to avoid, I didn't want nation being left out
  8. Multiple competitions are just a way of mass editing competitions, it has no effect on how they will appear it game.
  9. To have competitions at the same level they need a parent competition. The multiple competition option is so you can group competitions and given them the same rules instead of editing them individually.
  10. So after spending thsi afternoon looking into this this method of adding a team to Europe is not quite as simple as it used to be. Everything I did just threw up another problem, like I said before the following works just fine as it used to Additional nation plays in Europe Kazakhstan plays in Asia But as the world cup qualifiers are semi-hard coded i ran across the following issues When teams entered and how may was being defined by I believe an additional helper called 'FIFA World Cup'. With this removed i was able to add the additional team to the qualifiers and all worked fine untill the playoff I suspect the same helper was defining how the playoff was working as it was just no longer taking place I could edit the Playoff, but then this resulted in 2 things happening if an Asian Nation was hosting the world cup Not enough AFC team entering the intercontinental playoff (1 instead of 2) Too many AFC team qualifying for the world cup (49 in total instead of 48) So based on my time constraints unfortunatly this file is dead for the time being
  11. As expected this doesnt quite work with the 23.3 update. Replacing a Kazakhstan with a new nation, and moving Kazakhstan to Asia works just fine, but the default AFC World Cup/Asia Cup qualifiers dont accomodate an additional team. 23 Teams qualify for the first round but only 22 get drawn. If you are not aware the first and second round for the 2 competions uses the same matches So it may be an easy fix or not, the world cup qualifiers is simple First round:[note 1] 22 teams (ranked 26–47) will play home-and-away over two legs. The eleven winners advance to the second round. So change it to 24 teams with the winners advancing But the Asian Cup qualifiers throw up this delight First round:[note 1] 22 teams (ranked 26–47) will play home-and-away over two legs. The eleven winners advance to the second round. One best ranked losing team will advance to the third round of Asian Cup qualification. Play-off round:[note 3] 10 losing teams from the first round will compete in home-and-away two-legged play-off matches that determine the final five qualifiers for the third round. The solution is easy, noone gets a bye and all 12 losers progress to the Playoff round
  12. This would give the opportunity to create multi-nation competitions, i think that if you were creating the footballing world from scratch right now, multination competitions would be a no-brainer to allow smaller countries to have better competitions. In Europe alone there have been multiple suggestions, the Be-NE league being the most prominent. If you have clusters of small counties that could also be an option. In the real word a Caribbean super league would not happen due to the travel costs for the clubs, but in game its much more feasible and interesting. This set up is common in other sports, see the North American big 4, ice hockey in Europe and Rugby Union Worldwide
  13. I think the benefit of FM is that it opens your eyes to the wide variety of competition formats around the world. The 16-24 team, double round robin format played in the majority of major nations in Europe works in the real world, but I find it can become stale in game. When you move club you just get the same again, but with different opposition, hence why I like to mix it up. Split league and European playoffs divide opinion in the real world but in game I think its nice to have a variation around the world. Though sometimes they can get a bit stupid (Belgium, 3rd place in the second tier should not be in the European playoffs (early-mid 2010's) madness) The MLS, Brazilian State system, and the Latin Apertura and Clausura, even the Rugby League 12+12 into 8+8+8 add variety. I'm also fond of multiple cups rather than bulking out the league, additional League and regional cups bringing more stuff to win, or the chance for different opposition. A 16 team league and a cup with a group stage appeals to me more than a 20 team league with about the same number of games. One of may favorite group of competitions are the Asian regional International Competitions (why are the African ones not included by default?) this makes managing smaller nations have more meaning, always my first downloads to get is to add as many as possible. Similarly regional club competitions are a nice to have. But as an aside more importantly than the actual format are the rules. There is nothing more infuriating than databases that do not have proper rules implemented, people leaving the default for subs (3 from 5) or yellow card bans (1 game every 2 cards) are the worst!
  14. I myself always like weird and wacky competitions set ups, I know they are not everyone's cup of team, but I do like my custom databases to be a bit odd, I like to see what I can do with the editor. A couple examples of what I've used before, I'm slightly obsessed with cross-group play. I imagine these would be terrible in the real world. Competition 1 (I used this for an U21 competition) 8 regional competitions of 24 teams, each following the same format Each competition has the same teams every year, makes sense for a youth competition to not travel nationwide The 24 teams are split into 4 groups of 6, once again same teams every year, could be randomized Teams play in their own group twice (10 games) the against the other 3 groups once (18 games) - total of 28 games Top team from each of the 4 groups, plus the next best 4 qualify for the regional playoff Regional playoffs are double elimination Reginal winner qualifies for a national finals playoff with the other reginal competitions As a bonus each regional winner and runner up qualifies for the next seasons main cup Competition 2 (I used this for an U18 competition) 8 regional competitions of 24 teams, each following the same format Each competition has the same teams every year, makes sense for a youth competition to not travel nationwide The 24 teams are split into 4 groups of 6, randomized each season, play 10 games Top 2 group each group qualify for the top conference Next 2 for the middle conference Bottom 2 for the bottom conference Teams then play in their own conference (14 games) and are ranked 1-24 Competition 3 (I used this for a 5th tier) 80 teams split into 8 divisions, play 4 rounds, 36 games 8 Division winners qualify for Champions Promotion Playoff 2nd-4th in each divisions qualify for Promotion Playoffs Champions Promotion Playoff 8 Divisions winners ranked 1-8 on divisional performance Seeded draw 4 Winner Promoted and qualify for Champions Playoff taking their seeding with them 4 Losers Drop into the Promotion Playoff second round taking their seeding with them Promotion Playoff 24 Teams Ranked 9-32 based on divisional performance All rounds Seeded draw First round - 12 Matches Second Round - 8 Matches Third Round - 4 Matches, winners promoted Champions Playoff 4 Promotion Playoff Winners Seeded draw Semi Finals and Final, winner is overall Tier 5 Champion
  15. An interesting one, the opposite of what people normally try and do. Ill try and break down what will happen. The good news first The AFC and Asian cup qualifies will work without any editing required (this may change in the next update if SI update these to the slight tweaked format due to start I 2023) and afraid that's all the good news The Bad news To get their club teams to play in the AFC competitions they will be need to be rebuilt, and that will break the dynamic ranking The National teams will still play in the UEFA world cup qualifies and Nations League along wit the AFC tournaments listed above, they will have to be manually removed or replaced I have no idea what will happen to the UEFA club competitions, I know they can accommodate a new nation, no clue how they will behave if one is removed Now the really bad news If UEFA does not have 54 members the Euro Qualifies will just not take place and consequentially neither will the Finals Not saying it cannot be done, but its not an easy edit
