  1. Has anyone else noticed that the notifications about your players being made offers by other clubs at the end of their contract have stopped? I'm not sure if anything has changed in a recent patch etc, but I only noticed when looking through my squad that one of my players was offered a contract (this is January 2032, and his contract expires in June 2032). So it's no problem that someone offered a contract - the issue is that usually in your inbox you'd receive a message along the lines of "TEAM have offered YOUR PLAYER a contract". Now I only get sight of that if I see a particular player's status, or if I get asked about it in a press conference. As it happens, I couldn't afford keep the first-team starter because he wants Saudi wages which are more than double what he's now on, and he's 32... so off he goes. But I've just lost a younger player without me knowing he was offered elsewhere - I was deciding on whether to trigger his extension but then noticed he'd already excepted an offer from another team
  2. Also, accepting the job offer first and then going to the meeting with Lokeren still ends up with the same outcome; resignation from Lokeren and no Brugge offer.
  3. This has also just happened to me. I was offered the role at Cercle Brugge, and my current team Lokeren asked for a meeting for me to reconsider. I attended but still decided to leave the club. When that meeting ends, there was no option to accept the Cercle Brugge offer. Apparently I'm still favourite for the Brugge job, but nothing happens with it.
  4. Commenting because I'm also having the same issue. Started unemployed and joined a part-time side. After manually changing a training session the whole week becomes unavailable... and that happens around 80%-90% of the time I change one. I've never had this on any FM before. But the first post in this thread sounds exactly the same problem I'm having. (As a short-term workaround, I save the game before changing a training session just in case. And as a quick fix, it does resort back to normal by selecting a default weekly schedule if it's still possible to do so.)
  5. Hi, I am responding to this thread as it is the only appearing in the bugs forum when I searched. In the Europa Conference League I spotted a team I had never heard of, so I thought I'd check them out. Looking at their stadium capacity, it does not meet the competition's minimum requirements but they still played a home game there. Would there be some exemption for this team?
  6. Except that shoots with power and places shots are contradictory traits, so it would be very unlikely (or even completely impossible) to have them both. Similar to having stays back at all times as well as gets into opposition box
  7. Places shots, maybe? I can't say that I have noticed players with that trait be more likely to shoot along thre ground though
  8. If you are still playing him as regularly as normal but in a CM position, I believe he should be happy by the time the 34 days runs out. I would also doubly make sure there definitely isn't a specific role required as well, just in case
  9. Apologies, I didn't mean to drag the conversation away from the point of the thread. After I posted about how happy I was with the help from this thread, I noticed someone had posted the below message. By the time I was able to respond, I hadn't noticed others had moved the conversation along in the meantime!
  10. I find that I have a big urge to change tactics because things often seem to go stale (or that's the way it seems). Often opposition sides may get used to how you play and figure out how to counter it. Maybe I still can't spot the right details after all these years. Because to me it just seems that for a few matches the tactics work perfectly, then a few matches later they just don't. I understand it is never an exact science, but my problem is that I don't see anything that shows why it doesn't work. That is definitely my biggest struggle with the game. On the whole, things are going well and I really shouldn't complain. But i frustrate myself when I don't see what has changed from one game to the next... to me it just looks like much poorer passes, my forwards forget how to shoot and my defenders just don't win any tackles. This then leads to a cycle of changing tactics, doing well for 5 games, then things going south again
  11. Wow. I read this thread this morning and made a few notes on things I wanted to try out based on what was being recommended. It has been a fantastic thread so far, and I have created a hybrid of 2-3 suggestions from @Johnny Ace I know we're only playing Young Boys and we should be winners anyway... but this is crazy! I have left the match at half-time to type this! I actually fielded a weaker team because we play Man City next (e.g. I have rested Bellingham and Nuno Mendes, and Aseko Nkili isn't perfect for the BBM role - and it's 2030 so there are some newgens you won't know here), so I'm optimistic for more positive results going forwards. Here are my results up to this point. Plenty of good results but I felt that something needed changing. Maybe this has done the trick! Thanks to everyone for their contributions in this thread!
  12. The change from balanced to positive (for example) is due to adding either an underlap or overlap instruction on that side rather than the focus play instruction
  13. It sounds backwards to me too. But after trying a lot more on FM23 myself, and seeing the effects it had in some of the Bust the Net series mentioned above, I'd definitely recommend it. Even if we are overwhelming favourites and the opposition is parking the bus, I find that a lower tempo can help your players make better decisions and not rush their actions so much. Yeah, maybe you'll have fewer attempts overall... but I've noticed I tend to have better quality attempts, fewer from long range, etc. I'd definitely recommend it to those who haven't given it a try 👍
  14. The option to increase or decrease creative freedom is literally there in team instructions. I believe what team shape shows you is just a cosmetic element, as a result of the roles and duties you have given your players. You can adjust your team's fluidty via the instructions and roles you give your players, regardless of what the team shape tells you it is. It may say structured but you can still have fluid play in-game.
  15. In terms of team shape, I wouldn't pay any attention to that and I'm sure it has been confirmed I recent years that this means nothing and has no impact on your tactic. As for closing down or not, do you use opposition instructions? If not, these can actually be more useful that putting a team-wide instruction into your tactic. And depending on what you want from your width, using underlap or overlap instructions can be very effective your ideas into practice
