I tried posting this in tactics/training but got nothing:

I keep giving up late goals. My defenders make dumb mistakes or the AI scores fluke goals, seemingly driven by them going on all out attacking.

What shouts and tweaks do people recommend to kill the clock and avoid risky situations in the last few minutes of the game? I've even put it on 'contain' and still seen players crossing instead of taking the ball to the corner flag.

Very irritating. Why are most of my goalkicks being challenged for my midfielder and not strikers? My targetman is just standing there watching whilst my central midfielder who can't jump to save his life makes a mad 20 yard dash to try and win it. When he loses the header he is then often caught miles out of position, especially if he's my defensive midfielder.

And don't get me started on when it actually does reach the strikers. The defending is shambolic. Often defenders don't even look to challenge they just stand and watch while the striker/midfielder just takes the ball down with all the time in the world. Obviously this is a hard skill and the defenders if had misjudged the flight of the ball and therefore the header (fair enough) he should obviously instantly be looking to tackle the forward but no he puts little/no pressure on him. Also what's with strikers controlling an aerial ball dribbling it on their heads? Didn't know the Blue Square North had so many Kerlon impressionists.

Needs fixing.

I have several players in my team that I will have to pay to a third party a percentage of a future sale, or clauses where I will have to pay a percentage to his last club of a future sale.
I think in the last FM there were some buyout options in order to get out of this clauses, is this still the case in FM13 as I cannot find the option?

for deciding to install a faulty Steam Client Update which then crashed the computer as I was saving my game. I thought the temp backups was working, but I didn't realise you needed to tick the option in FM13. So almost five seasons of my edited database game gone, just as I was about to see if the imported talent I seeded my teams in the db were about to become eligible for the Australian national team. I was in May 2017, 6 game weeks away from finding out.

In FM 07, I could see players kicking and punching each other, resulting in a red card and controversy. I haven't been able to see such incidents even though it's included in 'events.cfg'.

Were those removed after 07?

I want to thank SI Games for a great series. After trying FM2012 and FM2013, I have decided FM2011 is the last version worth playing (after starting with the series way back in 2001), and will be the game to stay on my hard drive.

It can be hard to put a finger on why I enjoy 2011 more than the newer versions. To me it is simply I have fun playing it. I do not get that anymore.

Still, I do want to thank the for developing the game up to 2011 and good luck for your future.

If I could offer some advice, I would suggest that you start to focus more on the smaller picture. Get the keep arts of the game functioning smoothly before trying to add further pieces to the puzzle.

When starting a new game, there's leagues I know I won't manage in but would like to load the players from. If I customise the database to load players from that league and make the league 'view-only' (to get their game stats), is this any different to just making the league playable?

Currently in season 2017/18 on my Gladbach save. Now apart from the first season, ive won the Bundesliga. Ive done well in Europe, making it past the group stages on every occasion. In terms of reputation, Bundesliga seems to be ranked 3rd in Europe, and im currently ranked 17th on the team lists. My concern is that my best players are continually missing out on International teams due to not playing for "a big enough club". Ive had to sell players who're looking for "bigger clubs". Last season i sold my central defender to Dortmund for 20million (was great value for me) and he stated he was looking forward to playing for such a big club (They finished 8th the previous season and havent won a trophy in my save!!). I've also missed out on several key signings due to not being reputable enough. Also means i've got youth players who i'd consider hot prospects wanting starting XI spots and 40k per week! Is it a bug or a common occurrence for leagues outside of England/Spain?

I have an issue regarding the amount of chances i get in a game and how unrealistic it is.

In practically 90% of the games i have played in this season (Ipswich in the Championship) i have had a stupid amount of chances but i still dont score that many goals.

In most cases, il be playing a team, and at the end of the match, it will say i have had 23 shots, 18 on target but ive only scored 1 goal. Now yes, it is possible in real life football, but it happens 90% of the season! Im certain that not every goalkeeper in the league is immense when playing me, and all my front three are made up of 3 players who are 4 star or more for our division. The chances are being created, the players are good enough and the goalkeepers arent that good.. why are so many on target chances not going in!

This happen to anyone else?

PS : Im only writing this because i just lost 3-0 to Barnsley, who had 4 shots on target, to my 20. 20?! I was fuming.

Im in Isthmian League North Division One and this is my keeper. But in so many games this season his goal kicks NEVER clear the defence. In one game just now he failed to clear defence with his goal kicks 4 times and 3 of them resulted in goals. He does it at least 2 or 3 times a game.

Surely has to be a bug? As not like he has terrible kicking for this level.

Can't figure this one out - tried to set up a tour of spain - the board tell me that it is too far for the team to travel.
So set one up for Jamaica which is further away and they accept it - they must get cheaper flights there then!!:lol:

normally in an fm save all newgen players gets a 3d face but for some reason mine doesn't in any save. what am i doing wrong or is it a bug?

Been managing for ten seasons now and on average I manage one red card a season. For some reason I have just clocked up seven in the last 3 months alone, almost all different players. My squad personality is determined and on the whole my squad are all model professionals. Apart from toning down the tackling, which isn't hard anyway, is there any reason for this?

It's deadline day in January of the second season and due to lack of games Tobias Schweinsteiger has requested a transfer. I offered him out for £250k, and he accepted an offer from Sandhausen, which is where it gets interesting.



Now, this isn't too unusual, a player asking for a portion of his wages to be paid if the new club can't pay them. However, what IS confusing is:



As you can see in the screenshot, he's asking me to pay more than double his current wage, to play for another club. I could understand, and even tolerate, paying half his wage to get him out of the club, but paying him double what he's currently on? Fat Chance! Anyone know why this has happened?
