Pretty sure Andreychuk is retired from the start.

Nope not in my game. He is like for 41 or 42 but he wont except any contract offers

He's probably one of the the many not-retired retired players. He's technically still available, but he won't sign a contract, no matter how much money you throw at him. It happens a lot to 40+ year old players who aren't officialy retired yet. They're listed as UFA's, but they're essentially reitred.

I know I made a trade in year two, in mid-Augest, for Bondra with the Penguins. The Pens were able to steal him on the FA market in year one, he turned down my offer, and signed a two year deal with Pitt.
About three weeks after the trade and I was starting to gear up for training camp, I got a notice that he decided to retire.
BTW- I was the Caps.
