My Question is?

If a player says he wants to play Major Juniors and such but then he doesnt want to sign with your team like how do you know if a european will sign with your team or not? The reason why i ask is because i dont want to waste my import draft pick on a player who doesnt want to sign with my team

There's no guarantee, but there's 2 things you can try:

1: When you're in the draft screen, go to the Filters->Configure and check "Ask assistant to filter unrealistic targets". That will usually do the trick.

2: But in case you're unsure after doing #1, look at their salaries. As a Canadian junior team, you can only pay $1500 per season. If they're making more then that in Europe, chances are they won't sign with you.

I played as the 67's for a few years and I always had trouble with this. I think the first year I drafted Victor Hedman. He didn't want to come to my team so I traded him straight away. The other team valued him at 5 stars so I got a bit out of it.

If you have an assistant GM I find that if you draft the player he recommends they are more likely to sign with you.

If they don't sign fairly quick just trade them away. You can only have two in your lineup anyways, so I didn't think they were that valuable.

Question... My scouts thought i should draft Cherepanov... The question is since he makes 88k and wont sign with me if a NHL Team drafts him and sents him like signs him and then send him back to junior do i have to sign him to a contract or no...

That's a good question. I assume the answer is if they draft him, send him to juniors, and you have his rights, you'd get him. But I wouldn't expect them to send him back down once they sign him.

I think there is a rule that import players can play in the AHL younger, whereas with players from North America they can't be sent to the AHL at 19 years old so they have to be sent back to juniors.

If that rule does exist, I don't think it's in EHM. If a player in EHM has junior rights, he can't be sent to the AHL until he turns 20. However, many foreign players don't have junior rights because they don't get drafted in the CHL Import draft, which goes back to the original question posed in this thread.
