Strange colourful box

I have just installed fm09 on my computer and everytime i start the game and it shows the introductory page with the 'new game', 'load game', etc options, a strange yellow-greenish box pops up in the bottom righthand corner. first i thought it was my msn showing someone logging on but after i changed it to windowed mode it still comes:

it doesnt go away when i start a game. any suggestions?

That looks like the box that should appear from Steam.

try shift and tab at the same time

I think (I don't know as I didn't use Steam) that if you create a shortcut from the FM executable in the Steam Apps folder, that it runs FM without opening Steam and, theoretically at least, it should mean this box doesn't appear

Yeah that worked perfectly, thanks a lot, plus it means that i now i have a shortcut on my desktop without having to open steam everytime, thanks again

No problem mate

Its a setting on Steam that you have to change as I had it when I first installed it. I got rid of it by going into Steam then File> Settings> In-Game > and unticked the box which says "Enable Steam Community In Game".
