GB68
How advisable is this? My first thought is, no, its not advisable. But then again maybe if your played with a DMC or the wingbacks were very defensive, as well it might be worth a shot??
Devilsharck
I wouldn't advise it.
tansrb
i play wingbacks with two central defenders and a DM. for now it's my best defence tactic ever.
ScobieB
Works for me, but I do have a DMC coming back to help out the two CDs
Misodoctakleidist
I've done it with extremely attacking wing-backs and no defensive midfielders, and it worked fine. That was on FM08 though.
Ozzy38
Plenty of teams use attacking wing backs. As long as they have the skill and talent and at least some defensive ability it can be successful. That's in real life though, so in theory it is a workable tactic. x42bn6
On 2008, you could use backwards arrows and I'd actually recommend wing-backs with backwards arrows as it occupies more space with little penalty. But the positioning of a wing-back is entirely different from a full-back and any formation which exploits the flanks will tear it apart as you could end up with 3-on-2 frequently. You might be able to play with 1 wing-back and an asymmetric formation. Think Roberto Carlos and Real Madrid, that sort of thing.
