Center Back problem/bug

So I've been having problems defending in this game. I covered many of my problems in another thread. I thought for a time the problem had mysteriously disappeared but it returned a little later. I've now tried every patch, different teams, different players and tactics taken from TTF and I still get absolutely moronic defending.

I've taken some pics to prove it.

First up

Look where my CB is . I've circled him. WTF is he doing there. Of course as in all the pics the opposition scores.

Here again he goes walkabout. Note also that Fernandez and the RB leaving the opposition in miles of space to ease through and score.

Here again 2 defenders are stuck together like glue leaving a massive gap

My favourite. Moses couldn't have split the defence like that. Where the hell did the 2 CBs disappear too.

Here's another example of 2 defenders always sticking together leaving opposition players totally unmarked :confused:

Now these defenders continue to get high 6/low 7 ratings for defending like that.

Who are these defenders? Can you show us there stats? I'm particularly interested in their positing one.

Do you have 'Man Marking - Yes' and 'Closing Down - Often' set?

If you do, this might explain the first 3.

The second two are just stupid.

No man marking only zonal and closing down set to own half.

EDIT: In the 4th pic I did have my FB's man marking their wingers and one CB man marking their lone striker

yeah, thats my biggest gripe about the game, the defenders just totally leave strikers so through balls are unchallenged. And even when they have let them pass they make weird diagonal runs to try and get back to the player that makes no sense at all. Happens way too often.

I think you need to just accept 9.2.0 is a poorly tested piece of trash. This sort of ridiculous defensive positioning/activity happens CONSTANTLY.

The first 3 pictures do look as though you're centre-backs are man marking an opposition midfielder, or something silly (sometimes when you choose man marking and don't specify who, I've found it does pick inappropriate opp. players). But if you say they're marking zonal and low closing down, then it's definitely worth uploading the PKM of the game to the bugs forum and just giving them a time-reference (46:22, etc.) for each of these situations.

The problem I've noticed is it doesn't seem to happen to the AI dfence.

Yeah I have that Problem quite often

What annoys me is my centre backs are on man-marking and tight marking and yet even with my "would be a leading star in most Premier Division teams" ratings we are still stupidly susceptable to the keeper launching the ball straight to their striker who is then clean through on goal!
