womble1690-123 Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Hi I noticed a few post of people having trouble installing fm on ubunta,I was unable to get it working via uniloc as probs activating. I did thou get it working via steam, heres how Installing fm2009 on Ubunta 8.10 First you will need to install wine Step 1 Open console type sudo apt-get install wine Step 2 In console type sh winetricks install the following directx9 vcrun2005 vcrun2005 sp1 ie6 Step 3 Install steam Run fm2009 installation Once game is install select Launch game and activate via steam You do not need to have steam running to play fm just browse to wine directory program files/steam/steamapps, you will find fm.exe, select fm.exe and you will be able to play the game without steam running Any probs let me know Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Although there may be little point since I am on a dual boot system so can just use Windows like I currently do. Still nice to know the option is there though.
