how long does it take for a player to learn a preferred move?

does anyone know how long does it take for a player to learn a preferred move?

In my experience, anywhere between 3 months to a whole season, it seems to depend on how much they like the idea and how suited their attributes already are to the new PPM, mainly the latter IMO

also the players adaptability. he might not learn it very quick if at all if this stat is not good enough

Do be aware though that, like many things on FM, this is not an exact science and it may be different for you

How do you actually give players preferred moves.

Select the player you want to learn the new PPM, go to player interaction and scroll to the bottom, then you can choose which one you think they will be good at using, sometimes they will reject it though, saying that it would be of no use to them

right click on the players name, go into player interaction and scroll down once you get past the recommendations etc you will get to a list of things you can ask the player to do.
