It's the £1.86 billion transfer fund challenge

i know some people have been waiting for this to be uploaded so here it is finally!

basically the scenario is its 2033 in fm2007 and milan have a transfer budget of £1.86 billion

though at this save point i have agreed to sign 2 players (rest assured they are good though)

Milan have no manager at this save point as i retired to clear the way

they are sitting just above the relegation zone but have just about enough quality to stay up

2 good strikers, a good midfielder, good defender and a good goalkeeper

though the rest are pretty average

a mix between average youngsters and aging players

i have not edited the game in any way, it is the original database for fm2007

basically the challenge is who can do the best with the milan team by the end of the 2033/2034 season

i cant seem to get this to work although this isnt a surprise as i am not the greatest computer mind.

i clicked "download" then "save to disk" the file turned up on my desktop in two parts, "milanbillions" and "milanbillions.Part" only the Part file actually has a file size but neither game seems to work. i moved the files into the games folder in FM07 but when i try to start the game it doesnt work. i get a message i cant remember what it says.

can someone who has got it to work provide step by step instructions please?

If you have a .part file. That in all likelihood means that you didn't complete the file transfer. When the file has fully downloaded the .part gets deleted automatically.

anyway it turns out they were kinda right i just had to be a little more patient

i'm quite interested to see how people get along with it, i managed to stay up but found ti tough to get the players i wanted due to reduced reputation of the club and the lack of european football, had a solid start to the new season though

I downloaded the save file and fired up my game and it said "File Could Not Load".

Oh dear.....I was trying to play FM08 instead of FM07..LOL

I'm having a play around with this at the moment, My last few games of the season were a disaster. Ridiculous number of red cards and an injury crisis. Tomas Nemec is amazing though.

Yep, 14th place, annoyed to lose 1-0 against Chievo in the last game of the season though. I've been giving my squad a thorough revamp and am just underway with the next season, with the amount I've spent I'm hoping for top 4. Couldn't get some of the players I wanted to come, but there you go. Roma look pretty unbeatable as well.

I've got a hurriedly thought-out mixture of youth and experience. Mehdi Saidi looks like he's going to be important this season, along with Alessio Micheli. Apart from Nemec, Anderson, Munoz, Paz, Benitez and Scuderi, I have got rid of pretty much everyone else.

My Lineup is looking roughly like:

GK: Paz/Jesus Anton

DR: Rodrigo (Sampdoria)/Useless youths (don't understand why there were no decent DR - were you playing with wingbacks?)

DL: Richter/Pepe

DC: Benitez

DC: De Biagi/Scuderi

ML: Saidi/Marra

MR: Monzon/Bradshaw

MC: Biancarelli/Munoz

MC: Micheli/Pignalosa

FC: Nemec/Fernandez Navarro/Anderson

FC: Auteri/Jaime Torres/Anderson

It seems like a good side to me, but pretty costly, and I could use a few younger players. I figured qualifying for Europe was crucial in terms of keeping the cashflow good and attracting good players, though.

Incidentally, I have had a stadium expansion come and go - finished already!

One other thing I noticed is that all of the players seem to be sulky, violent, temperamental tossers. I've seen it before, but never to this extent. I have had 5 sendings off since I arrived, Paz not turning up for training, several players demanding moves because of the competition for a place, and all of the players feeling that the others take themselves too seriously. Has ARSE mode returned for FM07?

excellent, going to have to give this a go, pity i have to go out tonight to pick up my new dog, then going to in-laws for the weekend aaargh!! oh well, hopefully get some gaming on Friday night.

oh, by the way, was this done using the db for 7.0.0, 7.0.1, or 7.0.2?

It looks like 7.00 to me, but it is behaving rather strangely, twice as many sendings off and injuries than my usual fm07 games. Hopefully it will settle down a bit once my team gels.

I am getting a bit fed up, Nemec has been fit for all of five minutes of this season so far. Results are OK but not spectacular, my old curse of not being able to break down Serie A defences is striking again. Oh well, at least I'm not really conceding many.

Auteri is bloody injured as well and my hot prospect AMC has a recurring injury, and the red card spate is still ongoing, though it mainly seems to be my opponents rather than me now.

Some of my players are still sulking though. It's like trying to manage a whole team of Anelkas.

Okay, how about this:

I have an unemployed save game for English teams in 2023. I'm thinking about taking over a rich team like Fulham and multi-manage them with other rich teams, steal their money until Fulham has around $2 mil. Is that okay? Plus, I'll have to do that after I've done with my other super awesome challenge.

Not really. I am the draw specialists of the division, it is now february and I've only conceded 8 goals - but then again I've only scored 19. It's good enough for fourth so far, though. The table is extremely tight with very low point totals, only 10 points between 1st and 11th. Udinese are the only team scoring freely, but their defence is shaky as hell.

I am going to have to buy Simone Grilli as it seems to be my only hope to start scoring. Nemec has been fit for a while now but has only scored once this season - my top scorer has all of 3 league goals (Fernandez Navarro, injured 90% of the time).

I currently have 7 of my first team squad injured, 2 at the african nations cup, and three more not fit enough to play, it is very much bare bones at the moment, I had to take someone out of the U20s to put on the subs bench last game.

On a more positive note, I am through to the cup final.

i did invest heavily again during the winter transfer break, looks like a league title on the cards though (i got knocked out in the first round of the italian cup)

Have you noticed disciplinary problems in general in your game? I haven't been too bad, but other teams are getting ridiculous numbers of cards and sendings off.

There are three referees that seem to have gone crazy and are skewing things quite seriously.

A chance to go top! Roma have lost to Inter and so I have a clash with Messina to face - the winner tops the league!

Only problem is that Anton has broken his hand so I will need to play Paz for the first time in the league this season.

It's a funny old game. Beat Messina 3-1 then lose 0-1 to Ascoli of all teams the next week in one of the most card-laden games I've seen in my life.

Then - suddenly at the start of march comes the first high-scoring game of the season: 6-3 win away to sampdoria. In the last 3 games I have increased my goals scored tally for the season by 50% - but also my goals conceded as well.

How strange.

Ha ha ha. Could barely find a way past Fiorentina to save my life, but somehow manage to put 7 past Juve, who till now have had just as miserly a defence as me. Hattrick of stunning goals from a midfielder who hasn't scored all season, fantastic.

Leapfrogs me over them into the lead as well, this one is going to go right down to the wire. There's a bit of a gap opening up between 9th and tenth, but anyone in the top 9 is still really in with a title chance.

I have pretty much doubled my goals scored over the last five games, no change of tactic at all. It's very confusing.

And those lasts few posts marked the start of my team gelling - the result? The double

I probably wouldn't have managed the league if Roma hadn't utterly collapsed in the last few weeks - I would say they had a marginally better team and should really have won it.

convinced the better half she really needs to go visit her mother this weekend (she lives about 4 hours away) while I am still a bit too sore after my knee rehab!! Free weekend of FM!!

i managed to win the league without any further defeats, so its a season of champions league football for me and a league title to defend, i didn't invest too much during the summer, just a few squad players to bolster it in case of injuries, sold a few fringe players as well to make a bit of money, my aim is to defend the title and get to at least the champions league semi-final and win the italian cup
