garethclem2003 Posted January 20, 2009 Share Posted January 20, 2009 right i just bought a new latpop acer 5535, 3 gig ddr2, amd athlon,64 x2 duel core proccessor (1.9ghz, 1mbl2 cache) and ive notice the threading box is tick?untickable What is this, and how does it change the game? I do not get why people would think otherwise. It is like saying damn im hungry and i have 2 apples but i will only eat 1 and still be slightly less hungry but hungry all the same. There is a reason people say it might slow down. Hyper-threaded possessors share the same cache, therefor it is possible for applications performance to actually degrade if both threads are contending for the CPU cache at the same time.
