Aaron_AO
hey, i see my scouts give up on players improving over the age of 23 or so. e.g. diaby, bendtner, who are all rated as not being able to improve despite having ample PA cos their old clubs mess them up by not playing them. so is it possible to save these player's careers and make them fulfil their potential? im asking cos giovinco has just been listed at juve. at 24/25 years old, he has BLATANTLY not fulfilled anywhere near his potential. basically looks the same as 3 years ago. im wondering if i should pick him up and try and help him become a worldbeater? ive made it my aim as blackpool to pick up the scraps and try and bring these players to full potential. diaby is coming along nicely. bendtner is struggling though... any suggestions? kristoaster
after reaching 24 years old, players rarely improve very much, aside from maybe some mental attributes. its annoying and not very realistic but thems the breaks :-/ forget him and find someone else is the only advice i can give
Aaron_AO
damn i signed him lol. i got in my squad: kompany, bendtner, diaby so far. all are really good actually but yea :/. i was hoping since they say midfielders peak when they're 27-30, that'd give giovinco a lil time. also upgrading training facilities and stuff. :S
NepentheZ
IIRC, in FM09 there are different bands for player growth. Something like how PES works, with "Early Bloomers," Late bloomers, etc etc...
kristoaster
Ooh really? That's a bit better then, didn't realise that. Is there anywhere we can get SI confirmation on that?
Les Girondins
I've just won the EURO cup with 35 year old central midfielders and a top scoring 33 year old SC. More than ever before age is not a limit in FM I find ..
Aaron_AO
kompany/bendtner isnt showing much improvement and its been a season lol. altho my training facilities were just average. i've upgraded them now so maybe that'll make a difference.
