crafty bison
It's 2-2 and the last 5 minutes away at Middlesborough. My defender makes a rash challenge 30 yards out. While he is being booked, my goalkeeper takes it upon himself to carry the ball all the way to where the free kick is due to be taken. I feel my blood pressure rise as the ref completes his formalities, though of course there's no rational reason to, right? Wrong. Referee lets Middlesborough take the kick just as my goalkeeper enters the penalty area. It's passed short to Andy Johnson who slots into the open goal. This match was a relegation six-pointer and to say I'm ****ed off is a massive understatement!
AbsoluteGenius
Thierry Henry did it a few years ago for Arsenal against Chelsea. These things do happen in football unfortunately.
crafty bison
With the keeper sixteen yards off his line? I don't remember that. fortunately for me, Bassong has just headed his first goal for me to equalise three minutes into stoppages. Poetic justice. LuciferM
It's your tactics. Put your goalkeeper on minimum Creativity and very defensive Mentality.
crafty bison
He already is, I don't think that affects how he decides to give the ball to the opposition for their free kick.
