manc101
This may be a stupid question i dont know. Im Manchester City and i sold Ched Evans to Boro, part of the transfer was if he scored a certain amount of goals i would get money. Well i was playing them and he scored just in the wrong net it was in league but will that count towards the goals he scored? As in theory he has scored a league goal. kingofneon
Own goals are not counted as league goals. Why? For instance - say Fernando Torres is 1 goal behind Wayne Rooney as top goalscorer in the league on the last day of the season. Liverpool are winning something like 5-0 against say Stoke - what's to stop Torres from hitting the back of his own net twice (and his team letting him do so) to go ahead of Wayne Rooney and finish top scorer in the league? ChrisCryptic
If they did, my defenders would be ecstatic. They love to score own goals but never contribute up the other end...
kingofneon
Tell me about it, Chris Pullen has managed to smash the ball into his own net from unchallenged crosses 4 times now. Just loves being the centre of attention that guy....
