I think I get it.
You are in February/March of whatever season you are running currently. In this season, you are in the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League. You just won the League Cup. It then tells you that you have won qualification to the Euro Cup.

It's talking about next year's Euro Cup, which you have qualified for by winning the Carling Cup. If you don't finish in the top four of the league (and don't qualify for next season's Champs League) then you will be in the Euro Cup.
