Transfer budget greater than balance?!

How can this be?

My bank balance is about 20mil and yet i have a 50 million transfer budget?

Anyone know whats going on here? why would they allow me to go into debt?

They are expecting income over the course of the season. If you spend your 50 mil you need to make 30 mil in prize money and player sales. If you don't....bye bye.

I would presume that the 50 million transfer budget is not represented in your standard bank balance, so in reality the club will have 70 million.

Be carefull with spending in this case, if you don't generate any good income and it will be like stokes 83 mentioned, bye, bye and you will go into administration which can result in deduction of point and most/all of you players being sold for the small money.

Yeah I agree you should be careful and not spend it all. Whatever happens you will get the blame if you go into debt.

Thats what i thought, but taking into account some of the posts above i did get a message say i would recevie TV payments of 30mil which must be being spread over the season as monthly payments?

Irresponsible in what sense? Are they trying to encourage you to spend the money and bring in players due to their ambitions? Or they ust not smart when it comes to making a budget? (I find it hard to believe this happens ever IRL)

Well if this lad's team are bordering on a Champions League place then maybe his board think spending the £50m will cement their place in the top four, and they'll make their money back.

They obviously haven't heard of Leeds United though.

could be a combination of high ambition & poor business skills on the board

personally i wouldnt spend more than 15m, that way if you have a mediocre financial season it won't hit you too hard.

I currently have this with my Napoli game. At the end of the season the chairman gave the club £40 million. I had a transfer budget at the start of the season of £50million.

Not in FM09, you are no more responsible for poor financial status of club, however if you he will spend all money he can go in administration as well as his board can sell his key players to repair budget ;D
